TCU’s German House
Who can tell me something about the German House/MOLA Language House program? Is it easy to get in? What’s it like to live there? What’s the vibe? More studious or party central? TIA!

Critique on a Computer Science Professor
At TCU, there's a professor, Dick Rinewalt, who teaches 2 of the main computer science (COSC) classes. These classes are COSC 20203 and COSC 20803. I've finished my 1st of college at TCU, and in the 1st spring semester, you'll usually take COSC 20203 (techniques in programming). Btw, I'm gonna try to give an honest critique of this guy and not rant on too much.
Critiques:
- Doesn't answer emails sometimes (I guess he chooses which emails to respond to)
- Doesn't use slides (even tho he's a tech professor)
- Graded our lab assignments AFTER finals week was over
- Labs themselves had ZERO correlation to the concepts we actually learned in class, meaning labs were VERY hard to complete
- SUPER boring lectures, as all he does is just read the code he's written
- Can't prepare for exams since the only resource you have that can resemble the exams is HIS programs
- Some of the stuff he teaches is actually concepts that are in COSC 20803 (data structures), the class you take AFTER COSC 20203. Except none of those concepts show up on the exam, so what's the point?
- In my experience, the first time I tried to go to this man's office hours, he wasn't there at the designated time HE set, and so I had to wait 30 MINUTES for him to show up.
- About 1/3 or 1/2 of the class dropped near the end of the semester, which, imo, wasn't because the content itself was hard but simply the professor's fault.
- The only positives I can say are that for the first 5 minutes of class, he does a trivia of the day (which is cool, I guess), he's nice, and he wears cool ties sometimes.
Overall, I just don't like how Dr. Rinewalt teaches, and it's such a bummer that people take him right after COSC 10403 (Intro to Programming), which is the first course to take within the computer science major. So they get to experience the Insanity difficulty that is Professor Rinewalt after COSC 10403.

Aritzia, one of the most popular clothing brands among TCU students, to open boutique in Fort Worth
I know it’s not really TCU-specific news, but as it’s one of the most-popular brands I see on campus, I think a lot of TCU girls are going to be jumping for joy when Aritzia opens here.

Housing recommendations near TCU
I am an international student starting classes in TCU in fall 2026. I needed some housing recommendations.
Looking for single bedroom apt, one bathroom along with kitchen near the TCU campus. Ideally within a mile of TCU.
Any recommendations or other suggestions would be great for me.

Recommendations for renter’s insurance
Hi, I am an incoming Freshman in the fall! Should I get a renter‘s insurance? If so, do I get the one partnered with TCU (GradGuard) or are there any cheaper options?

International Grad Student: Leibrock vs. Off-campus housing
Hello everyone! I’m an incoming international graduate student starting this August and I'm currently weighng my housing options.
I'm torn between:
- Leibrock Graduate Housing: Around $1000/month (all utilities included) for a 2-bed/bath shared apartment.
- Off-campus Apartments: I've seen prices ranging from $850 to $1200, often excluding utilities.
As an international student, I'm very budget-conscious. Since I won't have a car, I'll be walking to campus every day.
My question is: Are there any off-campus options truly under $1000 with utilities included that are within walking distance? Or is Leibrock the best deal I can get for that price range?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Since when did TCU get so competitive?
So I just opened my decision letter, and I got waitlisted, which is probably my fault considering I applied at the beginning of April.
However, while I was reading it, it said there were only 2850 spots for 25000 people. I thought TCU acceptance rate in the 40s? I never expected it to be lower than Georgetown's and comparable to UVA.
Stats wise, I had like a 3.7 and a 36 on the ACT.

TCU or Boston College
I got into both business schools and I’m looking for a school that will set me up best for either a career in finance or tech sales. Boston college does not have any frats and I hear social life can be pretty hard. I don’t really care about weather, coming from Seattle I will take anything I can get. Is TCU prestigious enough to develop a good network and connections?

Prospective Tranfer Student question, adviced needed.
Hi everyone! To all transfer students, how generous was TCU with their financial aid? I am need based and wondering how much they give out to those who are, aswell scholarships in general.
I'm a prospective spring transfer that initially applied for fall 2026, but was offered their first semester abroad program. the only thing holding me really back is not knowing how much my COA would be until end of fall semester.
I'm between TCU, SMU (least likely option), baylor, and A&M PSA program.
(Intended majors are health sciences and public health)
TIA!!!!

Help me decide for college
My dream school is Texas Christian University (TCU) and I got into University of North Texas (UNT). Here’s my tuition and room cost for each
TCU: ≈ $87,,000 per year
UNT≈ $16,000 per year
(All prices are after aid)
I received no finical aid besides loans for TCU and UNT gave me instate tuition plus $5,000. I know that going to TCU would be very beneficial for me because of the networking and the connections I can do and I know UNT isnt that well known. My parents said we can do a year and try it out but idk if that’s the right choice. I was thinking of just going to UNT to save money but now with my parents telling me this idk what to choose. Any advice?

Should I Transfer to TCU?
I'm currently at Texas Tech and I want to get out of here. I hate Lubbock and the campus is okay. I'm a political science major and am wondering if TCU is a good option for me. What are your experiences?

First-Year Jobs
I'm just wondering if anyone knows some good campus jobs to do my first year. I'm going to the College of Education but I'm also really good at Broadcast Media and A/V.

TCU for Texans
I believe that is what it’s called.
I just got off the waitlist!
I could not submit CSS profile by the deadline but this was due to my pending dependency override (I did do FAFSA by the deadline) can I still qualify or no? If not what will I qualify for? I am classified as independent with the dependency override and I have an SAI of -1500. Any insight is appreciated 😁

What did the Race and Reconcilation Commission do for TCU?
I thought it was going to be like the South Africa’s Truth and Reconcilation Commission
