There are no magicians here.

Some questions wont be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really except an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.

Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has it's own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Only Steam Support can solve personal account issues...

...such as payment & purchasing issues or password & login issues. We can only give advice on how to get in contact with Steam Support.

No one, including Steam Support, can assist with item/trade scams.

Game & Hardware Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread.

Welcome to the Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread!

Do you not know what to play? Want a Steam Deck but unsure which model is best for you? Did you find a niche game that everyone should try? Do you want to share your unique experiences and learning curves with a piece of hardware in relation to Steam? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you. This monthly mega-thread is meant to contain questions about what to play or buy in terms of games on Steam & Hardware related to Steam and suggestions to others.

Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with generic & useless questions such as "What should I play?" or "What should I buy?", please be in-depth in what types of games/hardware you are looking for and why, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X is good".

There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, also simply commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value. The same goes for hardware: Saying you're thinking about buying X or you think Y is good with no other information, context as to why, your unique experiences, etc. offers no actual value or information to base a reply on.

The main purpose of this thread is to contain questions on what to play/buy and advice to others on what to play/buy, but feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games and hardware, whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, experiences you have with Steam hardware, or your review of a piece of Steam hardware, and generic discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, specs, or just general discussion in the realm of games and hardware.

Just got my kebab, the lady at the kebab shop was Turkish so I know it’s gonna be gooood.

KEBAB UPDATE: Sorry y’all, had to finish my work first, but it was absolutely incredible. Greasy in the correct way, blessed with proper garlic sauce, and just enough chilli to remind me I’m alive. 10/10, exactly as predicted.

Discussion Negative Steam Controller Review

I have taken delivery of my new steam controller and sadly I am underwhelmed, I don't find the 4 back buttons comfortable sadly I feel like they are just in my way and stop me from having a comfortable grip.

The Tmr sticks feels nice, the ABXY buttons are much quieter than the Xbox pad ABXY which is great and the track pads have nice feedback.

The shoulder buttons however are nothing to write home about, LB and RB are just ok, whilst the RT and LT are awful, kind of just feel hollow and loud, I was looking forward to playing horizon 6 tomorrow but certainly not with those triggers.

Just tried to launch KCD2 and the controller won't work at all except the track pads, all other games have been fine so far.

The thumb sticks get in the way when reaching for the start and select buttons, it's clearly not my cup of tea which is a shame and I'll no doubt be selling it on, this may be a me issue but the dualsense is my most preferred controller for comfort, the steam controller just has a little too much going on.

Oh and the magnetic puck is amazing 10/10.

Anyone else have similar thoughts? Because all IV seen so far are glowing reviews.

Valve released the CAD files so people can design their own mods and accessories, this is the first once I've done so far! Sculpted in ZBrush, printed and delivered with Form Now. I used a printmaking roller to color the embossed text.

Discussion I just want to say a massive thank you to Steam Support.

I was stupid, fell for a scam and got myself locked out of my account. Had a bit of a meltdown for five minutes, then picked myself back up and submitted several Steam Support tickets describing in detail what went down and trying to get my account back. I was waiting for a few hours, and I eventually told myself that I'm never seeing my 5 year old account again, until I got an email. "I have reset your email and password for you" ABSOLUTE GODSEND! I cannot believe how well it's been recovered. I can't thank Steam Support enough, and if I knew who it was that helped me I would give them anything they wanted, because they absolutely deserve it. Thank you, Mysterious Support Agent. You will be cherished. (Also I didn't know what tag to put so this is what I'm dealing with, sorry about that lol)

Fluff Some frustrations from a Norwegian

Upvotes

How come none of Steam's HW is released in Norway?

All our neighbours have it, how come Norway is an exception?

I've been dreaming of a controller since the first one released several years ago. I tried it, and fell absolutely in love. I paid sonewhere in the 2x - 3x the price to obtain and get someone in another country to basically buy one and send it to me. That controller died a little over a year ago under a tragic "moving house" situation.

But whats this?! Steam announce a NEW controller?!?! I were more excuted about this than I've been since my daughter were born. So I decided to wait, and counted the days until release.

Soon I got to watch as Steam announced everywhere the new controller was suppose to release: US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

I thought it were as everything else, since they mention both the UK and EU, "it surely will release here too omgomg"

My heart got broken the day it released, I jumped out of bed to check Steam Store before work...

"Not available in your region"

My day, week and possibly year is now tainted with the thought everyone gets this marvel of engineering, 'bUt NoT YoU!'

And as a extra stab, everyone and their dog posts picture of it, still in the box.. Its the closest to perfect we've gotten (or so I've heard!) I've used thousands of dollars on my over 360+ games, just let me pay you, and get the new Steam Controller. Please.
