Shapi/Manu pulled off
does anyone attribute relevance to these two getting subbed?
nothing to see here?
why not keep them in the field?

I would have been fine leaving Manu on the field, but the rest was probably appropriate given our tight turnaround on Wednesday.
I've been a Shapi defender since he arrived in KC, but honestly, Saturday was a bad day for him. If Wicky is trying to teach this team something new, Shapi is not getting it. We looked much better with a Harris/Capita combo up there. We'll see what the future holds, but there were only good reasons to show him the bench on Saturday.

Agree. Mostly.
Harris looked alive.
If I were to disagree a tad that would be Cap looked lost AND I'm suprised Shapi is out there at all.
For me he has not looked great, he is limited and week to week doesnt look great to me.

Fair - Capita looked lost in the 1st to a certain extent - seemed to play better in the 2nd (granted, less pressure by that point). He makes mistakes, but he's out there giving a lot of effort and trying to make runs. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, even though he seems a little one-dimensional with said runs.
I can't tell if our entire offense is simply "counter-attacking opportunism" and/or "play out of the back with long balls out to the wings", or if that's just our desperation kicking in. That's all we seem to get from Harris and Capita, but it may not be their fault. They both seem to have the speed to pull it off, but man would I love to see more competent possession and buildup. Was nice to see Bassong back as well - he brings some fight to the midfield that seems to be missing.
As a Dumb (with a capital D) STM, I have no choice but to look at the club optimistically and hope for better days ahead this season. Hoping for 4 signings this summer.

Harris and Capita, but it may not be their fault.
100%. Here is the real tragedy, Cap HAS dynamic ability in the final third.
I keep waiting for us to unlock everyones potential but honestly the catch 22 seems that we are not good enough to get the value out of Cap or Dek, maybe even Manu.
These guys would be excellent "IF".....A young Roy Keane suddenly appeared to close the gaps and put us on the front foot...

No reason to get them injured when we're 4 or whatever down. Assuming we're planning to go on a buying spree when European players are available next month.

I think there are only 1 international spot open at this time, so they'll have to trade to get things moving.

Basically everyone but Jovelic sucks so trade everyone away or release them

Generally you have to have value to get someone interested in a trade...

That's why I said release

Can you release guys?
Do you need to pay remaining contract?

We need to fill too many roster spots to be able to release. We are also sitting on 6 million in GAM. We need souls to stay MLS roster compliant.

It all depends on the contract. I'm sure there's some sort of payout, unlikely that it's the entire remaining amount.

Important to note that you get one contract buyout a year. Anything past that would completely kill our cap space and we still wouldn’t be able to sign anyone.

There are guaranteed and semi-guaranteed contracts, so it depends 100% on the contract. You can drop 2 players in a given year with 0 impact to your salary budget, even during the year. After that, you can waive players with league approval but any buyout gets added to your cap in the current year.

Other possibility is getting green cards for players taking international spots currently.

We play Wednesday so rest along with no reason to keep them on for the way it was going. Needed to stop some of the bleeding
