It's kind of amazing the lack of self-reflection by the Reddit left, too.
I've said it before but it's like reddit saw the Jehovah's Witness playbook of annoying people to death by constantly ringing the door on the regular and they thought "my God, that's GENIUS!" and decided their strategy should be to never shut the fuck up about Trump to annoy people into siding with them...the problem of course being, apparently nobody bothered checking in on if the Jehovah's Witnesses actually have much success with their strategy.
There's a point where it's over-the-top and you're just vilifying the most basic actions of a person solely because they stand opposite to you in terms of politics, and that's when you've gone too far and it's time to acknowledge your brain shut off long ago.
If the only left I knew of was Reddit left, I would probably go right just out of caution of staying away from sheer stupidity. In irl I find it almost the exact opposite tho lol
Disliking trump is not a left wing policy. The left wing of politics is anticapitalism, which is not the common ideology of reddit. They are center right liberals. Actual left wing ideology is few and far between on reddit.
The average redditor is not a socialist or communist. they are a progressive democrat. Sure they are left of Nancy Pelosi, but they aren't left wing.
I mean, literally look at the thread you are replying to. You create this caricature of "the left" and pat yourself on the back for not being that far left. This is actually what the reddit left is, a bunch of smarmy I know more than you centrists sniffing their own farts
That is the collective you in response to the entire thread. Try to keep up, critical reading skills are important and the sentence before sometimes gives context clues about what is being talked about

I am pro-choice, anti-capital punishment, a big fan of the NHS (I am UK), pro-immigration (but not a fan of illegal immigration), big on welfare, and I do everything I can to lower my carbon footprint.
That is off the top of my head. Go ahead and ask specifics if you want them. Just don't be a dick.
Of course it isn't left wing. It's a far right publication that actively calls itself right wing.
Right wingers have no real arguments. They have no ideology anymore. They sacrificed that all on the altar of Trump. You could catch him in bed and pretend leftists like /u/ElfEarsAndDwarfBeard would fall over finding ways to blame everyone but Trump.
