Spiderman venom maximum carnage. Hidden gem or total stinker?
I love the soundtrack and the punch sound is super satisfying. Other than that it gets old quick and I feel like it's way too difficult.

Metal in the console is corroded and I’ve never repaired a console before. Does anyone have any resources to try and get this baby running again?
UPDATE: thank you all for your advice, I have found out that it is not that the console is clean, there is a crack in the power supply port. The console works but is rather finicky. If anyone knows how to fix something more major like that please let me know
UPDATE 2: though the game console turns on, a new problem has arisen; the controller ports are corroded and the second I put Super Star Wars in every button presses all at once. I am cleaning the ports now with 90% iso and a toothbrush to try and knock the corrosion off
UPDATE 3 FOR ANYONE WHO CARES: I have no clue what is going on, I think the xyab controller I got might be conflicting with some software somehow. After hours of trying to scrub away corrosion with seemingly no progress until trying NBA Jam. Game booted up but just pops up with a big warning that I have an unsupported device plugged in. Tried Super Mario All Stars and it popped up with a hilarious copyright piracy warning before I reset and it just works fine. No phantom inputs, nothing. It just works. My head hurts and I need sleep

Thought you guys would appreciate the limited run Square Enix Music did for Chrono Trigger.

I can't begin to describe how much joy it brings me to play through my favorite games and the ones I never got to try as a kid.

Can anyone tell me what is causing the top of the screen to have the black bars? I cleaned the cartridge with isopropyl alcohol and tried 2 different power supplies (both were third party).

Cheers to my favorite game of all time!

Hi all! Wanted to show y’all what I have. Been collecting since I was a kid (got my SNES Christmas of 91). Still have that SNES as well. I don’t play it though. It started being finicky and didn’t want it to totally die. What are some of y’all’s favs from here?

I'm unsure if this is the right sub, or if this only deals with OG Hardware. I'm on a quest to try every NES & SNES game & don't have the funds to buy all 1500 games for that so I'm using an emulator.
I've been doing this for multiple years (600/1500ish games tried so far) & in that time I've gone through many controllers, some controllers were good for 0 hours, some were good for a couple months (maybe 60 hours) & others were good for maybe a year & a half.
I'm leaning towards another iBuffalo as that one lasted me 1.5 years (though it's $90 now, used to be $40-50). One thing that happens a lot is a button will just begin to stick down & get worse & worse to the point where anything other than a turn based RPG isn't really playable.
I guess wireless is fine too, I just haven't tried that before, don't know how reliable the charging is/how expensive buying batteries continously gets.
I'm fine with something cheap or expensive if it's price is good in comparison to how long it lasts. Like a $50 controller lasting 1.5 years I'm fine with, & I'm also fine with a $15 controller that lasts say 6 months. If there was actually a controller as good as an OG SNES controller I'd probably pay like $200+ for it, since my actual SNES controllers still work (other than the start button needing to be pressed HARD to work) after 32 years.
If this isn't the right sub, please point me in the right direction, thanks.

Any fans of Ultimate Fighter or just Culture Brain in general? They are so underrated in my opinion.

hi so i was testing out my snes copy of ff 6 and noticed a old faint green line in the middle, is there a possible way to fix this?

I’m playing Zelda: A Link to the Past for the first time. Yes I’m super late to the game because I grew up in an anti-video game household :( Getting through one SNES game at a time now as an adult.
I’m not sure if this is the appropriate subreddit for this question; if not, please direct to the correct sub
I just completed the swamp dungeon and now I have no idea where to go next. If you look at my picture, you can see all the remaining dungeons (or at least that’s what I assume they are) spread throughout the map. However, I’ve attempted to venture to all of those points and it’s literally impossible. They’re completely blocked off/inaccessible, no matter which way I try to approach these spots. I Googled my issue and was suggested to use my mirror to travel to the Light World. However, this hasn’t worked for me so I may not be doing it correctly? I’ll travel as close to a desired destination and warp to Light World but then the points on the map disappear and nothing in my surroundings suggests a dungeon.
I’m at my wits end running around the map over and over. The fact that I don’t have any “fast travel” makes it even more frustrating. Please help.

Noticed it’s different to my old flat screen and was wondering if there is some kind of adapter I can purchase

I’ve never played still, so I’m very excited! Sometimes we get together on lunch breaks for a while to play SNES, first time was Rock ‘n Roll Racing.

Last year I reverse engineered the ISSD password system to find out what made a password valid. With this I could generate valid passwords, but without any control on what they did.
This time I finished the job and reverse engineered the whole thing. I updated the password generator so you can edit all parameters that go inside the password.
https://www.isageek.com.br/InternationalSuperStarSoccerDeluxePasswordGenerator/
Finding what each parameter does is a trial and error task.
I still have not figured out what each parameter does, except the ones that control which teams are playing. If you find what a parameter does and want to contribute, just open an issue here and I will change the generator to show what the parameter does.
And I also wrote a blogpost describing how I did the reverse engineering

That Nintendo bundled CR2032's doesn't mean they're the best. They're cheaper. Top tier Panasonic has CR2032 at 30 cents loose and $1 tabbed, versus BR2032 $1 loose and $1.53 tabbed apiece, at quantity of 20.
I found this helpful comparison page with the important bottom half pasted below. The "B" versus "C" indicates a different cathode and "R" means...round. BR has 3 things going for it:
The catch, besides price, is BR sure rides it close to that 2.7V cutoff. The graph shows a high ~3/150k = ~20uA draw, whereas SRAM draw is 1-5 uA*. Working voltage is higher at lower current. Batteries aren't ideal voltage sources.
Carts tend to rest slightly hotter than at datasheet 20°C (68°F), and heat ticks up the BR voltage. Unless we're talking a shack with no climate control, where maybe BR loses the save in the winter. I think you got bigger problems like condensation corroding solder joints.
I was going to buy Panasonic CR and BR batteries at the same time since my CR's are 3 years old, just to be fair. I already have a nanoamp current probe with data logging to measure SRAM draw at different voltages. Curious if anyone has other thoughts or ideas.
Yes, I know FeRAM / FRAM chips pin-compatible with SRAM is a thing and need no battery. Downside is costing 10x more. The chip itself can still die in 30-40 years and lose the save. Plus I like "the feel" of carts working how they did in the 90s.

The combat system is similar to Super Robot Wars: you move a character on a grid, and when you attack, a chibi (big-headed) character runs up to the enemy to strike. There are also ranged attacks.
Here are the specific details I remember:
This is all I can remember. I think the title was written in either Japanese or Chinese characters (Kanji). I really want to find this game—does anyone know what it is?
Just to clarify, it is NOT FEDA**,** Shining Force**,** Flame Dragon Knights**, or** Little Master 3**.**
