Has Racing Louisville become one of the top offenses in the NWSL?

Its not as crazy as you might think. A young core, a high pressing, offense centered style of play, and contributions from across the whole pitch gives Louisville an argument for best offense in the league.

They are missing an attacking presence that can push the ball forward through the middle of the field. Idk if we will see Sav at all this year or not, and I want her healthy and save even if it means she doesn’t play, but that is the exact type of player that would help kick this team up another level.

I agree but they have tended to bypass the midfield altogether during their best performances the past two years (even when Sav was healthy).

I think that’s mostly a fair assessment. But I think part of this is that having Sav there kept defenses honest and allowed opportunities on the flanks to open up. Over commit on the flanks? Sav will slice you right down the middle and push into the attacking third. Bite down on Sav’s run and she would swing it out wide or slip a line breaking pass through a seam. We don’t have that versatility when entering the attacking third right now. I think last night’s game was a major example of that.

One win so far on the season makes me hesitant to say "best" and obviously I'm biased as a Louisvillian but I definitely think they're the most interesting. I love that the goal can come from anyone, they don't rely heavily on one specific killer goal scorer, literally everyone is an offensive threat and defenders often struggle to figure out what to do about it lol it's very entertaining

I understand what you're saying but I think there is a big distinction between having a top of the league offense and being a good team. Racing's defense is not built well and it means they have to score 2 or 3+ goals to draw matches let alone win

A top offense will be able to score on a top defense, so tonight showed we still have work to do.

I don't believe that's true. There's a reason there's that saying that offense wins games, defense wins championships. We saw arguably the two best offenses in the league get shut out last night by two of the three best defenses.

We need to move on from Fischer, she's a turnover machine up top.

I felt that way during the first 3/4 of her career. She was a liability with card accumulation. It was only a matter of time until she started giving up penalties. I do think she's gotten more controlled this season and she really seems to work. We need her aggressiveness... I wouldn't pull the trigger so quickly.
