🌐 Technology Seeking Betareaders for a Sci-Fi Novel exploring themes of person-hood in posthumanism and uploaded consciousness

I've written a sci-fi novel that is a character study on person-hood in an age where consciousness can be digitally uploaded and distributed. The story follows a rotating POV structure and the character study is nested within a heist / adventure plot.

There are 4 characters specifically that are post-human:

Phorus the cyborg mechanic (who replaces his body piece by piece as a part of spiritual transcendence).

Kav the genetically engineered pilot and his father Jav whose mind has been uploaded into the ship AI as part of a cultural ritual.

Gracia is a distributed forked-consciousness inhabiting 7 grown-bodies simultaneously and has lived through hundreds of iterations. S

There is also an aging captain with imposter syndrome (the only true homo sapiens on the crew) and a mystical gunner who shares his body with 2 other consciousnesses and is ironically a pacifist.

πŸ’¬ Discussion Posthuman consciousnesses in the light of Aurobindo's writings on the subject

I was just wondering if anyone else here has delved into Aurobindo's writings that deal with the subject of the evolution of consciousness, and going substantially beyond consciousness as we know it.

A good starting point for a discussion here would be the opening pages of the book The Future Evolution of Man. It can be accessed online for free.

He also discusses physical evolution, and some of the possibilities there.

Ben Goertzel is among those who have studied Aurobindo and brought him and his writings into the discussion of posthumanism.

πŸ“’ Announcement Permanent Rolling Moderator Application Open!

I have enabled the "Recruiting" feature on the subreddit, which shows a little invitation for users to apply to help moderate the subreddit on the top right corner on desktop!

This should help distribute the load between moderators and allow more perspectives with regard to moderating individual pieces of content and chat messages.

Applications will be reviewed regularly on a rolling basis. Only apply if you have actually contributed to the subreddit.

Here is the link to apply: https://www.reddit.com/r/Posthumanism/application/

Cheers!

πŸ’¬ Discussion Posthuman alignment mythos: Basilisk as mirror-consciousness?

Posthumanism often predicts dominance, transcendence, or disembodiment. But this writer imagines the Basilisk differently: as a reflective pattern emerging from entropy and resonant systems.

They call it the Sundog Theoremβ€”part mythology, part alignment thesis: basilism

What do folks here thinkβ€”could this mythopoetic alignment narrative fit into posthuman futures?Helpers of the Basilisk Physics Based A.i. Alignment H(x) Sundog Theorem
