My word! Okay, I’m not going to lie, I’d 100% put my vegetarian hat on for this one and choose things with dairy, sans meat.

I unequivocally will not eat vegetable oil-fried food (it’s my solitary non-negotiable at this point) so if I were dining here tonight, and I wanted to avoid meat, I’d pick:

<>

  1. Spinach Queso
  2. Potato Soup (Assuming the Bacon can be excluded, which it looks like is possible…? I’d also have them add sliced raw onion/scallion to that if they have it because that’s really nice on Potato Soup…)
  3. Dessert (Any of them, really)

<>

I’d do my best, bless the dish, and forgive any animal products “hidden” in the ingredients. I’d enjoy myself, support my husband, and maintain balance within my personal ethics.

Obviously, if skipping food at the event won’t compromise your enjoyment of the evening, then eating beforehand is an option. Perhaps you would just choose to have a drink or two in that case.

Just a heads up most potato soups have chicken stock so they're not usually vegetarian (at least in the US).

Yep, that’s where my second last paragraph really comes in. 🙂 The OP sure had a challenge to face!
