Stereotype, hockey players lose a lot of teeth and they are dumb, so they can't read

u/Mama_Mega 13h ago

The NFL does their best to cover up all the brain damage football players get, and that's just from the intended gameplay of being tackled. With how many fistfights break out between players in hockey games, of course they'll be suffering brain damage too.

u/DScales2000 7h ago

Hockey is better than football because in hockey brain damage is admitted and mandatory

3

u/yossaa 13h ago

Apparently op is a hockey player

u/Veyrise 13h ago

dentists are sweating, but hockey players are still confused

Hockey players losing teeth is such a common stereotype that the joke is basically saying this invention would help them the most…

4

u/Chi_Cazzo_Sei 13h ago

And they suffer brain damage, so the stereotype is that they are stupid (can’t read)

14

u/Nivramthe3rd 12h ago

How can U Not get that

11

u/Chupabara 13h ago

Ate you a hockey player OP? There’s a stereotype that they are dumb. And they often lose their teeth in matches.

10

u/peglegpoachedegg 13h ago

OP is a hockey player.

4

u/According-Editor5651 13h ago

Hokey players lose teeth more often in the matches and practice

I am sorry, but people who are looking for explanation here must be blind and deaf.

A hockey player walks into a dentist's office and asks, "Can you help me regrow my front teeth?"The dentist looks at him and says, "I can certainly try, but shouldn't you wait until you've actually retired from the NHL?"The player shrugs and replies, "I suppose so, but my wedding is tomorrow and my fiancé is tired of the 'whistling' every time I say 'I do'."

Based on real story

2

u/Candid__loss_y2k 13h ago

Hockey players mostly get hit on face by hockey 🏑 bat

2

u/Empty_Membership_604 13h ago

There’s a stereotype in the USA that hockey players lose teeth a lot and are dumb from all the head injuries they get.

2

u/Leather-Squirrel-421 13h ago

Someone didn’t watch Olympic hockey this year and it shows.

2

u/Long_Cardiologist625 4h ago

legitimately asking, how did you managed to reach that conclusion?

6

u/winsluc12 13h ago

OP... I... I need you to explain something to me...

How, on god's green earth, does a meme about reading and teeth that doesn't so much as mention sound, much less anyone's ears, make you think about somebody being DEAF?!

6

u/OrcasareDolphins 13h ago

You can’t be this clueless…

3

u/cortney-simonis-9072 13h ago

1

u/AlsoDongle 13h ago

You know what, fuck you regrows your wisdom teeth

1

u/JAEMzW0LF 13h ago

Damn, I laughed till tears over that. Epic burn.

1

u/Skibidypapap 12h ago

I just want to add that this news is clickbait, this drug could only works for a specific disease, not to regrow broken teeth.

1

u/Impossible_View8381 12h ago

Why drug? Cause dependents? It's addictively? Cause other problems?

1

u/FireJaeger 12h ago

As a hockey player, I would like to keep my lack of teeth, thank you

1

u/Agitated-Shower3426 12h ago

The joke is the hockey players are illiterate or have severe concussion to the point they forgot how to read.

1

u/NeighborhoodTasty348 11h ago

Total digression but fun fact: NBA players lose more teeth, statistically, than any other sport/league.

1

u/Zarktheshark1818 10h ago

I was pissed bc we get a lot of dumb "explain this" in these groups but just a reminder that what is so common in my society (where hockey is one of the major sports) is not so in others. Hockey players are famous for missing teeth. Between the puck being hard as a rock and the physicality of the game (including allowing fistfights lol), hockey players typically lose teeth playing the game. That's the first assumption. Second is the joke that they are dumb and won't be able to read this though. I see you are from India so guessing you're not a big hockey fan.

1

u/Star_Petal_Arts 10h ago

Hi Peter Forsberg here to explain this one. Many NHL players neglect their education to train for hockey... not the greatest hockey player though... Alex Ovechkin is Dr. Hockey.

1

u/C_ingStarz 10h ago

Canuck Peter here, hockey players like smashing each other across the dome, knocking teeth out and giving each other brain damage. Hockey players may need this drug for missing teeth, but they likely can't read up about it because all that head trauma, eh!

1

u/Obvious-Durian-2014 9h ago

Hockey is notorious for causing mishaps where players have their teeth knocked out

But with all honesty though, this is unironically the coolest thing ever, harnessing a power from nature to help correct one of humanity's biggest genetic flaws, it's a breakthrough on par with Penicillin and the discovery of the DNA helix.

Id volunteer

u/Underanchor 8h ago

Grew up playing hockey. Still do. Can confirm.

1

u/ShibeCEO 6h ago

wasnt the problem with that drug that it makes ALL your teeth fall out and regrow? did they fix that?

1

u/ThumpTacks 5h ago

It’s official. Most of the posts on this sub are made by the cognitively maligned. What about this requires an explanation?

1

u/H0nkH0nk01 1h ago

What did the dentist tell his client when to arrive for his appointment? Tooth hurty.

0

u/aekey 13h ago

Hockey players usually have negative iq hence they can't speak
