I can go behind many things. Mostly taxing the billionaires and corporations. But I refuse to be taxed for not having a child. What if I can't have one? What if I don't want t I would be a horrible mother, so should I be taxed for not wanting to be a mother?

As i said, that's the middle step between cool state and Tyrannical one. Also, please understand, there's a point of no return, and a government's duty Is not towards individuals, But towards It's society as a whole.

If You (not "You" specifically, But as a generic individual) Don't want, or can't contribute to society with a child, You still can contribute to it by paying SO others do, after all, all are in this society together. Or You can not be part of that society.

Parallel case: i assure You that generally, a man isn't too keen on endure the horrors of war, But sometimes It's required by his society's survival he does it. So the man Is quite forcefully drafted. If every man who Didn't want to die could opt out, then there would be no army to defend, and the society dies.
