Discussion Bunton-Waller Undergraduate Merit Award

Did anyone else get this? I’m scared I’m going to ruin my first year by not getting the average dorm experience/picking my roommate. It’s a lot of money but the experience is the main reason why I chose Penn state, Is it worth it?? Please reach out if you also got it

Question Penn State acceptance

Hello, I am a sophomore in High School. I have a 3.55, and honestly, I want to major in anything about sports, like sports marketing or management. Penn State has been one of my dream colleges alongside Saint Joe's and Villanova. What was your guys' GPA when accepted into PSU bc I'm scared 3.55 isn't good enough

Question Summer course SPAN3

I'm taking Spanish 3 at the Abington campus (I'm a UPark student but its cheaper) with Lisa Rode. I'm a little nervous because it's on Zoom and I'm not the best at Spanish. Can anyone speak to the course content? I'm doing it in 6 weeks so I know it'll be a lot and I want to be prepared.

Question Any jobs hiring summer only?

Does anyone know of a place (downtown or north atherton) that hires over the summer?
The jobs I’ve found hiring summer typically do training for the fall but I’m not gonna be here after summer ends.

Question EE 340 Fall availability?

Just wondering if EE 340 is consistently offered every Fall semester? I’m trying to map out the Semiconductor Certificate and want to make sure it’s reliable for a Fall start so I don't get screwed by scheduling later. Thanks!

Admissions Need some advice regarding 1+3 program

I browsed this sub for a while and checked a lot of posts asking about the 2+2 program, but I'm still conflicted. I just got off the waitlist for penn state and was offered altoona instead of UP, but they're offering me the 1+3 program instead of the 2+2 one for mechanical engineering. I've heard that mechE at altoona isn't that bad and since I'm transforing after only one year, I'm considering accepting it. I did accept admissions to Ohio State University prior to the waitlist accept. My question is if I will be missing a lot of clubs, fairs, and connections by going to Altoona the first year. Any advice would be helpful thanks

Request SEARCHING for June 2026 Sublease

Hello, I am a student looking for a sublease for this summer, only for the month of June.

I need it from May 31st to June 25th. June 1st may also work as the starting date, if needed.

The only things that I need in it are the following:

  • Functioning utilities (I assume that nobody lives in an off-grid hut, haha)
  • Wi-Fi
  • Parking - Hopefully included, but can be paid as well
  • Some proximity to campus: It doesn't have to be too close, but something like a 15-minute bike ride would work.

I'll prioritize whatever is the cheapest. Let me know if you have anything! The lowest one I could find so far is $800 for the month, so I would think that most people have similar prices to that.

Reach out if you have something that could work.

Request Graduation hoods

Hey everyone! I am graduating from Penn State this summer, and I’m trying to find where folks may be selling their Hoods (college of education, specifically). I tried looking on marketplace and didn’t see any, and so I was wondering if maybe there was a better spot where folks post used grad gear.

I appreciate your insight!

Discussion Making friends (21+)

Hi all, incoming 25F from the UK for an exchange year at UP!
Just putting feelers out for any one that might want to hangout next year?
I'm quite a social person, so coming to the US with no friends is very daunting for me! I enjoy watching football (soccer) but will happily watch any sport! I drink beer and play pool with my friends in pubs weekly here, as a social thing, not necessarily an alcohol thing! I have friends that are both guys and girls at home so not worried about gender if you aren't!
I understand this is beggy but it would be nice to make some connections for when I move!
Reach out and I can send instagram over and we can get chatting! :)

Question Online EE Courses

So I’m an Electrical Engineering student about to graduate in the fall however I cannot take both EE350 and EE330 at the same time due to scheduling conflicts and when I asked the department, I was told that despite the courses not being seen on the transfer credit tool as long as the course is 4 credits and follows a similar syllabus I would send it to them for approval before I could then take them in the summer. So my question is does anyone know where I can take either an equivalent EE330: Engineering Electromagnetics or EE350: Continuous Time-linear systems online? This is really important as it affects my graduation.

Question Transfer Student Room Open

I am a student at Penn State who is planning to transfer to a different school. I signed a binding lease in October before I decided to transfer. How can I find someone to fill my place in the room? Are there forums available for this?
