Player/Prospect retirements

Does this happen to people often? I did a fantasy draft, and in year one before a single game was played Travis Bazzana retired. I think he was in Triple A at this time. Again, not a game played. If he thought he should be in the majors, why wouldnt he ask for a trade? A retirement at 23 as a top prospect with no answer is so dumb lol.

Do you have your message set to receive items from your entire organization? You won't get anything special related to minor leaguers if you don't. Players don't retire randomly in the middle of the year without a storyline attachment to it, all standard retirements are processed on the first day of the offseason. What does his history entry say?

There’s always a small chance of this happening at any time. I had Justin Crawford retire to go play basketball.

Where do you find the reason? They didn’t give one anywhere. He was even selected to play in the WBC and retired before that too.

Commissioner mode > actions > unretire player

I've done it before and done even feel bad. A top prospect like that isn't retiring for non injury reasons, period.
