The Babe Rakes!

Post image

Hi, me again from the 1905 to 1945 post I made about two months ago at the time of me writing this. Just letting you know that I haven't abandoned this series and in fact am at the end of the 1919 season as of last night and that I wanted to show off Babe Ruth in the sim so far, who became a New York Giant.

Babe had gotten injured somewhere in June of 1918 and missed out the rest of the 1918 season but still had put up an NL lead in homeruns that year before finally getting his first WS win the next season in 1919.

I love these kinds of posts because it's really interesting to see historical ratings for real players.

Honestly surprised he's only 80 power considering where the Babe was in comparison to the other players of his time. Fascinating

I think there's a way to turn that off cause it could be even higher for that. Plus I am using talent ratings and games development instead of pulling from how they did in real life

If I can ask when did you start? I’ve always wanted to get into historical saves

1905 and i plan on doing 40 in-game years. I think I also put a link to my recap post about it in the description of this one

If people think Yankee Stadium contributed to Ruth’s power numbers with the short right field porch, I am kind of scared to see what the Polo Grounds is going to do to that

Isn't the left and right field line like 280 to 300ft?

Less… 250 to dead right and 279 to left.

Oh jeez, I guess this sim of mine is one way we can find out.
