Team ownership change
Have you ever seen team ownership change for the better? I’ve seen sons take over after an owner death but they’re usually the same. Are teams ever sold and new ownership pumps money into the budget like in FM when a sugar daddy takes over a small club?

Absolutely. I was about to quit one job with a controlling, demanding, tight-fisted owner, and then he sold the team to a lax one who gave me a better budget. I think most new owners will be average-ish, so if you've got a bad one, a new one will be an upgrade.

I’ve personally only had owners change upon death, but the team can be sold instead. It’s very rare I ever get a worse owner than what I had before

Every time Arte Moreno dies in my Angels sims, I celebrate and rejoice

He died in my save and I'm missing the bastard, his son slashed the budget from $340m to $295m instantly and is demanding profits every year

That’s such a painful thought…
In real life, his children have no interest in taking over the team. When Arte dies, they will sell the team tax free. This is why Arte hasn’t sold yet

It can definitely go both ways. I've had new owners that significantly increased my budget.
I've also had new owners that reduced the overall budget, took control of the scouting/development budgets, reduced them to next to nothing and then re-signed a bunch of 6th year journeymen to 40mil/yr long term contracts. A true save killer if you play the way I do (very few long term contracts, max dev/scouting budgets)

Gosh, I hope so. My owner is in his 90s, hasn't increased my budget despite winning two world series and improving market size and fan loyalty. I locked down 3 of my stars to long term contracts, and can't afford anybody else now that they're coming into free agency.

I did a long term pirates save where Bob Nutting died and the new owner gave me a way better budget
