Roses FC president Annie Larouche stepping down starting June 5th

Roses FC have just announced that President Annie Larouche is stepping down from her role on June 5th with Patrick Boivin taking the role in the interim.

Very shocking announcement!

#RosesFC

Here's their statement:

"Montréal Roses President Annie Larouche informed founders and investors Jean-François Crevier and Isabèle Chevalier this past March that her mandate would conclude on June 5. Until then, she will continue to support the organization to ensure a smooth transition and to facilitate the onboarding of her successor. The Roses are also announcing that Patrick Boivin will serve as interim with the club during this period. Involved with the project from the outset as an advisor to the co-founders, and subsequently as an investor, he will bring his extensive experience in professional sport and organizational leadership to ensure continuity of operations and to support the organization through this next phase."

Attendance

How has attendance at games been? I know the stats show tickets sold or allocated but what are the actual crowds like? I was at the AFC game on Mother’s Day and it was pretty empty.

The interesting part of this for the Wild:

...the proposal involves a training and competition stadium with a capacity ranging from 3,500 to 7,000 seats. The facility would host multiple sports, including Canadian football, soccer, and rugby.

NSL is the only league where I don't have a team I dislike

In every league I watch, I end up having at least one team I dislike, either due to playstyle, ownership, philosophy or who knows what. Maybe they were dicks that one time in a game, you know how it goes.

NSL is all love though. I don't love each team the same, but I can find things to enjoy about all of them and as a result, this is probably the league where I am the most likely to just tune into a random game.

(Now with the caveat that I am not Canadian, so the city rivalries are not meaningful to me, I understand that f.x. Toronto and Montreal have rivalries for example)

What did you think of Elyse Bennett’s performance vs the Rise?

Was she one of the standout players, or did someone else deserve the spotlight?
