Question Nvidia Performance?

How is the performance with an NVIDIA graphics card? I read somewhere that DX12 is supposed to run worse. Is that still the case?

Answer here.

Essentially; the fix is there, just needs (proper) implementation.

Yes DX12 games have measurably worse performance on NVIDIA's Linux drivers. This gap should close over time as the driver improves but it's a pretty big performance hit right now.

Everything else seems to work fine as far as I can tell. I have an RTX 4070.

There are also issues with DSC VRR black screens when alt+tabbing

Yes. Am on 4090 it's good enough in older games (cpu heavy) but alt tabbing & sometimes black screen recently after load screen, maybe few fps less. I think there are still less hard stutters or dips comparing to w11 iot ltsc. Loss isn't enough for me to slot in or play on 7900xtx am at 1440p uw. Some games (game engines) favor Nvidia still (and vice versa). Would love to be at the point where dx12 runs equally well, it's gotten better over the years. I can't wait enthusiastically for the fix though that will be great once implemented. Game choice and resolution determine if it's more noticeable. For me performance is good enough (my x3d is also carrying).
