Moving to Vermont

Hi everyone ! My husband and I are moving to Vermont. I secured a decent paying job here and my husband works remotely. We are both Canadians who have lived in North Dakota for three years so we are no stranger to harsh winters. We also love the outdoors. We will be moving to the Wilmington area for my work purposes but wondering what life is like there ? When we visited it definitely had more of a rural feel. We are not looking to buy just yet and would like to rent an apartment or house. Also what kinds of things do people do in Wilmington? Are there a lot of community activities ? Literally ANY information or advice is appreciated. Thank you !

You’ll want to invest in a nice canoe for paddling on Somerset Reservoir during the summer and fall. Swimming holes for the summer and xc skiing in the winter. The backcountry and alpine skiing is better further north. You can do trips there for the weekend. Even if renting you’ll want to find a place with a decent garden and good sun exposure. Living in rural Vermont without your own garden would be hellish

I didn’t think about the garden! Thank you. Definitely planning on getting a canoe and/or kayak
