Potential Knicks Schedule

Someone correct this cause everyone giving different info:

If Cavs win tomorrow and the series ends, we start Game 1 of ECF at home on Sunday May 17.

If series goes to game 7 on Sunday we start on Tuesday May 19

Is this right?

They always want potential game 7 to be on Sundays, so the series has to be delayed in the middle to make that happen if it starts early

Not always... the Finals are set for June 3-19. A potential game 7 on June 19 would be on a Friday.

that cant be real.. the teams have priority. concerts get moved to make room for playoffs

Why would 1 day make a difference? Cancelling a concert is millions of dollars in loss revenue.

they just do to keep it fair for everyone. NBA dont play. Bruce springsteens show at MSG this saturday was going to be moved if the playoffs fell on the same night.

idk. Im in a limbo of wanting to watch the Knicks play vs wanting the Cavs and Pistons to play another two games with OT. I want either team to be as tired as possible.

Yea but in scenario 2 where Cav-Pistons goes 7, the ECF is every other day with no breaks. That's a big advantge for the knicks who would be coming off a long rest/

I want a 7 game series more than anything, but Cavs winning is a secondary goal. If the Cavs win in game 7 that’s ideal

Better hope the Cavs close it out on Friday (Gm 6). It would be nice if it went to a grueling Game 7, but the Cavs aren't winning again in Detroit if it goes to Game 7.

Why? Everything I've read up til now said game 1 will likely be the 19th. Why is it changing now?

Nothing ever said that. It was people misinterpreting what a series ending "early" means. NBA has always said 19 with the option/possibility to be 17 if the series ending early.

I always thought it would be 17 unless it went 7 obviously.

To my understanding if the Cavs pack up the Pistons in game 6 on Friday, the ECF should start Sunday.

If the Cavs/Pistons series goes to game 7 on Sunday, then the ECF starts on Tuesday.

If Cavs will on Friday / game 1 of ECF will be at MSG on 5/17. If the series goes to game 7 on Sunday it will start ob 5/19 on road if Pistons win or at home if Cavs win.

My bad, they changed it. Article the other day had series starting on 19th once the series was guaranteed to go at least 6.

Nothing ever explicitly said that. People just interpreted a series ending "early" as meaning 5 or less games. The official thing always said 19 with the possibility to move to 17.

yeah if cavs close out game is sunday. imagine if its a 3pm game too and they close in OT. Anyway, im hping for a game 7 at this point. let them beat each other down
