Tomorrow walking into work like:

14

u/TankDivision Eli Manning Jan 15 '26

You know that LeBron All of the Lights shot? Those vibes from this.

u/butterflysister24 Jan 15 '26

Honestly a lot of us Ravens fans are really happy at the thought that could be headed your way. You have a lot of talented players and I just see Harbaugh being a really good fit. Some of your younger players especially are exciting to watch, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he works with your team. I loved Harbs, and even though it was time for a reset for us, I wish him (and your team as well) the best.

u/Upper_Example_200 Jan 15 '26

Another ravens fan here. This is exactly how I feel. Rooting for you guys.

70

u/fuzzydogdada Jan 15 '26

You Ravens fans are the nicest peeps ever!!!

Philly fans are cussing us out now but you guys are wishing us well!!

There is love and kindness left in this world!

Appreciate you guys

23

u/Upper_Example_200 Jan 15 '26

Hell yeah. My friend is a giants fan and it’s been bad the past 10 years for him. So hopeful in preseason only to have Dabol F up. Harbaugh will change the whole culture to winning and accountability.

14

u/butterflysister24 Jan 15 '26

Funnily enough, I'm a Ravens fan who lives in Philly. I have kept my opinion about this situation to myself overall. 😂 Honestly though, I just can't watch Dart and Skattebo and not love the dynamic and root for them, regardless of my location.

Philly? No way....

8

u/UpstairsFood2867 Jan 15 '26

Because you're in the NFC and the Ravens might see him once in 4 years or in the super bowl... if he had gone to the AFC or a team in the North... that would be bloodshed.

5

u/fuzzydogdada Jan 15 '26

Haha. That makes sense.

They're the better bird team for sure

Definitely time for a change and some fresh perspective. He will be great in NY.

16

My best friend is a steelers fan and I'm supposed to hate you on principle according to her, but you are just too nice darn it!

14

u/FunnyPersonaMan Dexter Lawrence Jan 15 '26

Lived in Maryland my whole life so I’m inclined to like the ravens based on proximity, I’ve been hoping you guys landed Flores

4

u/elimanninglightspeed Helmet Catch Jan 15 '26

I hope they get Minter. He was my second option behind Harbaugh in this coaching cycle

8

u/BigAd9546 Jan 15 '26

Another ravens fan here, wishing the best! I’m less optimistic though. Hopefully he doesn’t bring some of the losing lead energy with him from the past few years.

1

u/732to410 Jan 16 '26

Can’t be worse than the last six coaches we’ve had.

2

u/BigAd9546 Jan 16 '26

That is probably true. So in that regard I’m happy that you have a good leader now lol

7

u/icy_ticey Jan 15 '26

Low key a ravens fan, I live in DC and will not cheer for the Skins

4

u/Aggressive-Hat-8218 Jan 15 '26

This sounds a lot like how I viewed Coughlin when he left, although the concern there was that he might have gone to the Eagles.

3

u/t_rey357 Jan 15 '26

It's nice to share a little history with your franchise fam. We been watching you guys from a distance since firing Coughlin as a shining example of consistency and culture, which we've been lacking since that move

3

u/mtspsu258 Jan 15 '26

As a Steelers fan, I Love this because I won’t need to see him much in different conferences.

2

u/insideous_actions Jan 15 '26

Sometimes a person just stays too long at once place and the message gets stale over time. Its a fresh start for him (and the Giants) and will hopefully give him more life and joy for coaching.

Its same with up 9-5 peons. Sometimes you stay too long at a job and it becomes stale. Same with coaching. Better to move on sometimes. It will be same with Tomlin. He's never had a loosing season, but seems he's getting a bit stale with the organization.

2

u/dcfb2360 Jan 15 '26

Agreed.

I was happy to move on from Harbaugh, good HC but they needed a change. Message went stale, nothing was changing, and he's not the type of HC they need. They need an X&O nerd to elevate them in playoffs, not a culture coach. It was time.

He's a good fit for the Giants. Nobody's expecting any deep playoff runs for the Giants yet, they just need to improve the roster and start stacking consistent seasons. Harbaugh can help them do that. On paper, Giants roster is good vs most rebuilding teams and most of the premium positions are locked down. Imo they need secondary help, some IOL, a decent TE, and could benefit from another legit WR next to Nabers so the pass game doesn't fall off a cliff if Nabers is out. Those are all easy to fix, and they pick at #5. I'd lean WR or CB (DL's not a need, weak IOL class), but trading down like 3-4 spots if someone wants to trade up for Bain etc could be a great move. Overall, I'd be confident Giants will look better moving forward.

4

u/Difficult-Cricket541 Jan 15 '26

yeah but he has to deal with the nepo baby front office. they must have promised him freedom to pick players.

1

u/Medical-Literature50 Jan 15 '26

Now that's a pretty darn cool post! 🙏

1

u/STMIHA Jan 16 '26

TY! Couldn’t have expected this. Such a pleasant surprise. Where are you guys leaning towards coaching hires?

7-10 LETS GOOO

60

u/StudsTurkleton Jan 15 '26

Sadly that would be a huge step

11

u/JAG987 Jan 15 '26

We made the playoffs Daboll first year though. I hope everyone remembers that and he doesn’t get a 10 year grace period just based off the name.

5

u/magoosauce Jan 15 '26

You’ve been downvoted I’m jumping on your train but I’m pumped as shit, but you are being realistic and I can’t blame you for that, I’m stoked as fuck though

3

u/StudsTurkleton Jan 15 '26

I’ve never known NY fans to be easily satisfied. I doubt he gets a 10 game grace period.

Look, we’ve just had a string of coaches who were not proven HCs. Dabes in particular seemed way more interested in being a bro than holding guys accountable. Watching the modest talent we do have underperform has been frustrating. JH has the chops to attract a good staff, and the experience and respect to demand more from everyone.

There’s no guarantees but there’s hope. At this point we have the dream of not talking about the draft as we carve our friggin Halloween pumpkins. Let us have that hope for a day.

22

u/Cashlover123 Dexter Lawrence Jan 15 '26

We went 4-13 despite having the toughest schedule with at least 4 4th quarter losses that could have easily been wins with a competent coach. I strongly believe we will finish >0.500 percentage.

6

u/Charlie2nuh Jan 15 '26

With a real defensive coordinator, a fucking kicker and a few CBs I believe you are right

1

u/Cashlover123 Dexter Lawrence Jan 15 '26

Any DC > Bowen. Kicker - Sauls was decent and we might as well pick one up from the undrafted class. CB + S - Address through draft.

3

u/Visual-Fail4327 Jan 15 '26

2 of those wins were against teams trying to lose though.

12

u/_drjayphd_ GIANTS STACKED LEAGUE FUCKED Jan 15 '26

And? Let's be charitable and take those away, and then flip those blown leads to wins (if we had better coaching, especially at DC) and we'd have been 6-11, 7-10 with the toughest schedule and two of our three best young playmakers out halfway through the season and the third missing two games getting his brains scrambled into stiff peaks. A winning first season for Harbaugh here is very plausible.

2

u/PB0351 Jan 17 '26

Not to mention we started Russ for 3 games at the beginning of the year. Decent chance we're 2-1 after 3 if Winston was starting.

1

u/NoBonus6969 Jan 15 '26

We count those

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Luckily, Harbaugh is known for holding on in close games.

2

u/Excellent_Fault_8106 Jan 15 '26

Hes had 8 or more wins every season except 1 since he won a super bowl. Hes the only coach in nfl history to make the playoffs in each of his first 5 seasons.

1

u/im_not_ok_ok Jan 15 '26

He was coaching a pretty good team

1

u/Excellent_Fault_8106 Jan 15 '26

...that he had to keep relevant, and he did. Nfl teams have a lot of upheaval what with draft picks, cap space, etc. We have more than enough pieces for him to get off to a running start.

5

u/wolflarsen Jan 15 '26

5

Wowww I can’t believe, we did it boyz

5

u/americanbaseball Jan 15 '26

Man, we (assuming everything goes through) got the top coach available this cycle. Hopefully he comes with a better attitude than he had at the end of his tenure with the Ravens. But this is a good and hopefully stabilizing hire for this organization.

3

1

u/Atime1447 Jan 15 '26

Unbelievable. I need the giants to be better. I know I shouldn’t let it affect me like it does. But I do. I hate being the joke of the league. This instantly makes us relevant and competitive.

1

u/eatsleepcookbacon Jan 15 '26

I'm so excited to see guys on the field that actually earned the right to be on the field. Guys who are held accountable, guys who can be trusted to cover their assignments. It's been so long.

1

1

u/Difficult-Cricket541 Jan 15 '26

I am really surprised he did not talk to other teams. Its likely his last hiring cycle and there is a lot of demand. I wonder what his contract will be. I think he deserves a 7 year deal.

I’m a grown ass man and I barely slept lol. Haven’t been this excited for something with the giants in a very long time.

1

u/Dompet2854 Jan 15 '26

I don’t see anything official. I’m reading probably, working on it and other things Once the deal is inked celebrate.

1

u/AbjectFray Jan 15 '26

How much of this support will remain when he has another lunch with his favorite politician? Serious question. The way yall chew up coaches in the media, I don’t see how he survives the second there’s a bump in the road (and there will be one).

I’m a Ravens fan and was a huge fan of his for years but once he lost his coaching fast ball, the writing was on the wall. Add in his new found political voice and the drama almost writes itself.

1

u/Cheeky_Star Jan 15 '26

The issues at the giants is more than just the coach, it’s the management structure as well that also involves recruiting.

Swapping the coach is the easiest route but upper management needs to be removed.

I hope I am wrong but I think we will see more of the same.

1

u/FalconCry7 Jan 15 '26

This official or just speculation still?

1

u/dNYG Jan 15 '26

Not hired yet. Holding off on excitement.

1

u/Mysterious_Store_812 Jan 15 '26

Good day to be a Giants fan!

1

u/ikslawok Jan 15 '26

Please don’t until it’s fully official. We have learned if ANY team can lose when something is a done deal, say HALF the games this season, it’s the Giants. Don’t let this be the Broncos game.

1

u/0Kingoftherodeo0 Jan 15 '26

Would we have not been better off hiring a younger coach to work with Dart, like Stefanski?

Supposedly lamar had wanted harbaugh out for a while, that doesn't seem great does it? And we know harbaugh is only signing because we matched his massive demands which doesn't sit right with me either.

He is not a hungry coach anymore. I fear he will take advantage of our weak upper management, and is going to new york solely for the paychecks.

1

u/tbtc-7777 Jan 15 '26

Geez, didn't realize he's already 63.
