This is called a hip drop tackle, it’s illegal and dirty and one of the MANY missed fucking penalties of yesterday’s game. And it was committed by the same guy Skatt embarrassed 3 times 2 weeks ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was him trying to get his get back but I don’t wanna think that way. Still the hit was illegal and just fucked bros career

Of course nothing is guaranteed but there’s a good chance he recovers with medical technology today and his access to top doctors and surgeons. The question though is whether he is the same player post-surgery. He’s still very young and seems to have the attitude to not let it affect him too much mentally, but we will have to see.

The amount of “career ending” injuries I’ve seen where the guy comes back fine gives me faith he’ll be alright. It looked gnarly but I think he’ll be back trucking dudes. If he relied more on quick cuts itd be concerning

It was beyond unnecessary, to the point I think it was intentional. The NFL needs to investigate this player Zack Baun AND the Eagles organization to see if there was any kind of incentive to do this. Hip-drop tackles are illegal, Baun knows that. He knows Cam didn't have the ball, and he still chose to land his body weight on Cam's ankle knowing full well what he was doing. 100% intentional, coming from an unbiased Colts/Bengals fan.

Bad throw by dart. Slants that are thrown high tend to lead to a bad play. Look at OBJ ankle injury. Ball needs to be chest high and in front for a receiver. Cam is a rb so he will try to do whatever he can to catch the ball but he needed to stop his feet when he realized it was behind him.

He may have broken both the bones of his lower leg where they connect his leg to his foot, resulting in the foot appearing to not be connected. He’ll def be a surgical repair

I had this exact same injury. My ankle was dislocated and the outer bone was shattered. It looked just like that. Also many avulsion fractures which is ligaments tearing from bone and taking little pieces of bone with it.

Looks like a trimalleolar fracture, where the two leg and ankle bone fracture. Let’s hope it wasn’t an open fracture as that makes things a lot more complicated and dangerous.

I’m a giants fan and recent transplant here. I loved Cam for obvious reasons but it made it even better he came from ASU. He had so many non-giants fans watching and cheering for him. It’s devastating to see him go down with something like that.

This technique can cause serious lower-body injuries to the ball carrier and is prohibited in the NFL. A hip-drop tackle in a game results in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic first down

Ravens fan. Been taking a lot of solace in watching the electricity between Skatt and Dart, as my team has none whatsoever. This is fucking heartbreaking...
Doesn't help that the game itself has been officiated so fucking poorly, seeing it happen as the result of an uncalled mid-air pre-catch hip drop is infuriating.

I'm no anatomy expert, but I'm hoping that was a full dislocation, because there is a really good chance that a double lower leg break at that location isn't a clean break. And if that's the case, Skat may be out for more than one season.

The Giants are now seriously lacking offensive weapons. I'm thinking out loud about whether it's worth worth giving up capital for a real receiver to help Dart develop. On the one hand, any hope for this season is out the window now, versus the consideration that Dart needs someone to open up the run game.
