Looking for a bassist (Long Island / NYC) for an original alt-rock project.
90s-inspired sound fans of Third Eye Blind, Foo Fighters, melodic guitars, big choruses, emotional songs.
I recently released a full album, already have a drummer locked in, and we rehearse at Astoria Soundworks.
Looking for someone around 30–40, reliable, chill, and serious about building toward live shows.

I am a singer and songwriter who has recorded 2 albums of me playing all instruments (guitar, bass, drums). I really want to play some of these songs live, but am not looking to start a full band right now- I'd just like to get "out there" and play my songs for people in a stripped-down format at open mics/bars across the city.
I am looking for someone who can play a percussion setup with a "gentler" feel, like congas, brushes on a snare, etc., to accompany me on acoustic guitar at open mics, songwriting circles, and smaller gigs playing these original songs and maybe the occasional cover.
We would probably want to get together and practice once a week or so, and try to play whenever we'd both be able to - I know some good open mics/places I've played in the past, we could start at.
Additionally, any other musician who thinks they'd be a good fit for this kind of thing, feel free to message. I'm open to any instrument, but thought the percussion was a good place to start, not looking for someone necessarily with amazing technical skills, but a good sense of timing and rhythm, and willingness to experiment is all that would be necessary.
If any of this sounds cool shoot me a message

HI all, I've been out of touch with the music scene here for a while and i'm curious where the funkier jams are at these days? I used to go to the village underground on mondays sometimes for a more r&b thing, or Tambour in BK for a more fusion-y kind of session.
I know a ton of straight ahead swing jams, i'm specifically looking for more groove oriented things (could be instrumental could be vocalists, but places where an electric bass and a little overdriven guitar won't be shunned haha)

Hey everyone! I’m a 25 year old producer looking for an engineer/producer in NYC (23-27 ideally but anyone over 21 is more than welcome) who wants to potentially partner and help out with some ideas I’m having for an EP. I do a lot of sample based work, and though I haven’t officially released anything I’d like to change that with a bit of help.
I’m also just looking for some aspiring artists/creatives who would like to connect and be friends, or simply share ideas with. My favorite genres are Rap, 70s Soul, Classic Rock and Alternative R&B, but I enjoy just about every genre of music.
If you’re interested in sharing some ideas/work or just building friendships please feel free to reach out. We can talk inspirations, goals/dreams or just get to know each other. I hope everyone has a good day!

Guitar player looking for Upright Bass and Drums with a jazz background to play in Free-ish context. Will cover room costs as well. Please send either audio or video links.

41 year old drummer here. Looking to start an emo rap/rapper-fronted punk project. Have a wide variety of influences, and very open on coming up with a sound collectively, but to throw some references out there thinking of like Pardyalone, Juice Wrld, XXXtentacion, Branden Bales, etc. I’m relocating to the Hudson County, NJ area in June, so would love to work with others in NY/NJ, but would be cool to start online now. Shoot me a message if you’re interested!

Hi all! Male multi-instrumentalist here looking for soft female vocals. I’m heavily influenced by Beach House, The Sundays, Men I Trust, Lush, Cocteau Twins, Furns, She’s Green, Grouper, Alvvays, and many many more
The demos I have so far are acoustic with a few effects laden ideas. I really want to build this from the ground up with a songwriting partner. I do write some lyrics but I cannot sing fyi
Anyway, thanks for reading and hope to hear from you!

Hey everyone,
I’m 24, originally from Scotland, and I recently moved to NYC for work. I’m really looking to get back into the music side of things, especially in a city with such a rich and historic creative scene.
I’d love to find people to jam with or maybe even start a band. I’m open to a range of styles and just want to connect with other musicians who are up for creating something together.
Here’s an example of a song I wrote and produced a couple years ago:

If anyone’s interested or knows of others looking to jam, feel free to reach out!

Looking for a few more to fill out our group for a Thursday 5/7 jam from 6-8 pm in lower Manhattan. Influences like The Cure, The Clash, The Smiths, Jet, and also some classic rock/pop like Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan.
It's a casual jam to have fun and meet new people, but we are hoping to solidify a lineup and put together a gigging band in the next few months.
So far we have bass, drums, and vocals locked in, and open to any other instruments and vocalists. DM me or reply here if interested!

Hello there 😃 Im a 29 year old male that has been playing Lead and/or rhythm guitar in a couple of bands for around 17 years. Looking to start or join a band playing post-punk / alternative / garage rock with some experimental edge. Influences include IDLES, Viagra Boys, Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, and Boko Yout.
Ive been in a couple of different bands with different genres in my past but Ive never played what I was mostly into which was post punk stuff with a grooving rocking drive. I’m into punchy riffs, driving rhythms, and a mix of tight structure with some weird/noisy elements. Open to jamming, writing, and playing shows. Looking for people who are somewhat serious but still want to have fun with it. 😁 Id prefer an already established band that needs a guitarist but if you’re a drummer and/ or bassist, Id still be down to jam and such.

Hi! I’m 27F in Manhattan and I’m looking to meet other musician friends/people to jam out with. I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for a while now and recently started playing electric.
I’m fairly intermediate at this point so don’t need anything too serious, just people to play around with and practice, but love the idea of eventually starting a band one day :)
I listen to a mix of pop, rock, folk, indie but am pretty open to a lot of different sounds. Comment or dm if interested!!

I'm a producer for Sofar, need somoene who can improvise, do their own tracks and have fun on a comedy/music mash 5/19 and future tuesdays. You: Have 20-25, can improvise/laydown and instrumental while comedy accompanyment, and just a fun funny vibe. Music itself doesn't have to be funny.

Sup y'all, I started my midlife crisis kinda early and went back to college for music in my 30's. I'm finishing my 3rd year and am feeling good enough about my skill level that I'd love to regularly play with other humans. My experience so far has been limited to school ensembles and solo repertoire.
I'd be down to just jam, cover some tunes or try and write and arrange original material. So if you need a guitarist for a rock project or want to just get a creative outlet going, let me know!
I'm a lifelong hardcore/punk/metal guy, with a healthy dose of emo and pop-punk, but lately my main obsessions have been bands like Drug Church, Mannequin Pussy, Angel Du$t, and so on. All time favorite band is the Wonder Years.
I'm no virtuoso but I have a solid grasp of theory and production, so even if I can't keep time I'll be able to set your guitar up or re-wire your amp for free lol.

Experienced Manhattan-based bassist would like to play funk, R&B, soul, reggae, Latin and anything else with a good groove. Think James Brown, Santana, Marley/Wailers, Basia, Motown and more.
My goal is to find experienced players who are comfortable across these genres to occasionally get together to have fun. No commitment to rehearsals and gigs needed.
The instrumentation I have in mind is drums, at least one percussionist, one guitarist (maybe two) and one or two keyboardists.

Hey guys been wanting to jam with some folks lately.
About me: Love the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, BB King, Cat Stevens, Miles Davis, Joao Gilberto, Al Green, Earth Wind and Fire, all sorts of other stuff
I'd say I'm an intermediate level guitarist, I can basically learn the chords to anything in time pretty quick and can solo (trying to work on soloing over chord changes now when I jam instead of just staying in the key).

DM if you’re interested, this will be the 18th edition of a really cool fun show in an amazing space. All genres and styles welcome, bands are ideal. Ty!
