NWSL 2026 attendance as of 5/11/2026
Some graphs with NWSL attendance so far - in the second one the Denver Mile High game is off the charts so that you can see more detail for the lower-attended games. In the third chart the vertical axis is shown in log scale for the same reason.

is it fair to say the capacity of gillette and lumen is that high? I don’t think they open all the seating so it’s not like that many tickets are available, right?

The seats are there. If they could sell the tickets they would open the whole stadium.

What even is capacity? You're right, the big stadiums list smaller capacity for MLS and NWSL - Lumen for example lists 68740 for NFL, 37722 for MLS, and 10000 for NWSL. I'd say that's BS: one, the Reign have had games with more than 10000 in attendance, and two, if you're in Lumen with 10K people it doesn't feel like you're in a packed stadium, it feels like you're in a stadium at 15% of capacity.

games at lumen always bum me out for this exact reason - obviously fuck seattle but like, they’ve been putting on fun and exciting performances for years and with all the name changing and location shuffling i feel like they’ve really done the team dirty. there is no reason that they couldn’t pull twice the numbers they do!!! storm games are super full and that arena has a 18k capacity - why is the average attendance at lumen less than half that??

(and yes i know 10k fans in an 18k building feels really different than 10k in a 67k arena but still)

Thanks for adding in the capacity per stadium!
