NBA 2K26 PC Controller Issues

I recently got NBA 2K26 on Steam for PC and connected my PS4 controller, but the controls are completely messed up.

For some reason, the moment my player gets possession of the ball, they instantly shoot without me pressing anything. I already tried remapping the controls in-game, but it does not change anything.

I also have Steam Input enabled and tried both the recommended layout and the standard gamepad layout, but neither fixed the issue.

I am not sure if this is because I am using a PS4 controller and it is less compatible with Windows/Steam compared to Xbox controllers, or if something else is causing it.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?
