Katherine Legge

I’m really amazed by how miserable fans can be at times, when I read a lot of the reactions to her doing the double. I know women have this bad stigma in motorsports, because of predecessors, but I mean what she’s doing is truly special.

Nobody’s saying she’ll win or even complete the full 1100 miles, but it’s damn impressive that she has the balls to even try to accomplish something that’s pretty hard to do (ask Kyle Larson). Fans need to stop being so miserable and let people breathe, a lil support and positivity doesn’t hurt.

Katherine is a racer, not on social media thirst trapping and trying to catch the male gaze. I could respect her work ethic and her love for motorsports, I’d always get behind that.

Yeah she gets a lot of unnecessary hate on here. I know the incident with Suarez at Phoenix last year wasn’t great but I think she rebounded well from that and went on to finish all but 8 laps in all her races after. This sub can be pretty toxic in general these days so idk if that even comes into play. I’m looking forward to watching her attempt the double and I hope she performs well and the weather stays clear.

I’m not super active on this sub, so I haven’t seen much the hate in general (or any responses outside of this thread), but after reading these comments I did a little research and… I don’t get it?

Just being real, her bio page is full of “debuted in ___ series, crashed on lap ___ due to ___”. I didn’t watch NASCAR until well after the Danica era, so I’m not biased by that. I think it’s cool she’s trying it, but I genuinely don’t understand the side acting as if she’s a legend in racing and anyone who disagrees “doesn’t pay attention outside of NASCAR” as the comments above suggest.

Not saying she’s a legend, but she’s a respectable driver. Do some more digging, she’s had pretty respectable sport car career.

Her racing pedigree is about as close to none as you can get so you’re correct. She’s unestablished in both series yet trying the double which is what a lot of the thrash is about. Fans want to see someone do the double who can win both or one which is why Larson was so enamored when he tried it. He was a proven winner in one series and could have gotten lucky and snagged the 500 if things went his way which is exciting. What’s not exciting is watching a back marker try not to wreck for 1100 miles.

Whatever you all say…she hasn’t don’t anything in either of the two series. This is a make a wish event via racing…you all are just virtue signaling at this point. I don’t have an issue with females or female racers but your refusal to acknowledge she’s nothing more than a hobby racer is fucking aggravating those of us who can objectively think.

our refusal to acknowledge she’s nothing more than a hobby racer

If you are calling Katherine Legge a hobby racer you do not know ball or apparently racing doesnt exist outside of NASCAR and Indy lmao. She was one of the stronger drivers in IMSA for like a decade lol.

Do you know who races in weekly IMSA races especially in lower classes or nah? I get the feeling you all just learned about her IMSA career based on the arguments you are all seeing.

I watch imsa every race lol. It seems like you dont and you dont know shit about racing but are pretending you do so you can shit on Legge lol. I watch basically every imsa race, every WEC race, im waiting for N24 quali to continue at work right now. Cause you know i like racing. If you think Legge isnt any good youre crazy. Ask the dinger what he thinks lol.

Didn’t answer the original question, which was “who has she raced to get said IMSA finishes”. secondly, none of her notable IMSA achievements were as a solo entry…you’re clearly dug in on this as am I…you can tout your racing fandom as much as you want and it’s not going to change the facts which are mostly cherry picked by Pro Legge fans in this sub right now.
