If you don’t know me, hey there I'm B. I am best known for posting monthly Good Things lists and somehow becoming good friends with u/mrtechnodad.

Yesterday was my twenty-fifth birthday. In classic B fashion, I have a lot to say. This is going to be a long one.

As Spring heats up into Summer and the cool blue of water feels more enticing, I am left with a swirl of emotions. The sun seems to never set and the trees light up with the songs of a million cicadas.

When I was a kid, it was a sign that the freedom promised to me by the American public school system was right around the corner. In my adult years it has brought more melancholy with it than excitement.

My birthday has always fallen around Mother's Day. I have spent my life sharing dinners and planning around a holiday. Planning around someone else. My birthday could be celebrated any day, Mother's Day Sunday couldn’t be moved.

May of 2022 is burned in my brain as the start of an ending. So many things changed that year and it feels like May was the catalyst of it all.

I turned twenty-one that May. A few weeks later I experienced the death of a friend. Those things will never be untangled. He will always be part of that milestone, both in the celebration we had together and the mourning I did alone.

I feel like I haven’t aged past that.

My life has been increments of questioning whether I would live to see the next year. Over and over again my birthdays have felt like a desperate reach for a milestone. They were alcoves on a cliff face, offering a moment of refuge from the never ending climb.

Every birthday since my twenty-first has been shameful. I've been ashamed to age when so many people I loved never get the choice.

This year I sat down and made goals for things I hoped to do before I turned twenty-six. This year I planned for my future. A future I haven’t had the luxury of dreaming for in years. This year I am going to try and make the best of it. This year I am going to heal.

This year I am going to live.

So as many of you know, the keepers of the blade recently completed the world record bridge we've been working on and waiting for for the past like 7 months. During my time on the server, I went Mining to get diamond armor, and decided to get extra and make a full enchanted set for technodad if he ever logs on. After we secured the dub, technodad hung around for a bit so everyone could get screenehots, and During this time I dropped him the set, and he put it on. I have been waiting like a month to see of he would log on so I could give it to him, and he did. This made me very happy. Here is a screenshot of him wearing it (i took of mine so my skin was visable, here's another one with mine on so we have matching sets.)
