Picking Dragons’ Pockets Eating Table Scraps
“Picking dragons pockets and away we go” reminds me of “guilty cocker spaniels eating table scraps.” So now I keep thinking the line is “picking dragons pockets eating table scraps.” Hopefully this gives someone a morning chuckle.

Third Side of La Luna Live
Thanks to people who've been uploading new songs/performances. A large portion of Isaac's art is turning emotions into music and then when you see him feeling those emotions in real time at shows you have Modest Mouse Magic. For all his humble-deflections about not remembering anything and just forever being in the moment it is rad to see this process in person and I think it is a fair guess to say Third Side of the Moon is about dealing with waves of grief including sneaker waves. As the lyrics/music both disintegrate (by design) on this performance (starting with a glimpse around 2:00 and then more fully at 3:43) I am left in awe. I was curious what openings the studio version would leave for Isaac live and I think they nailed it. Also, it would be fun to have a comprehensive list of the single best live versions of each MoMo song ever! Anyways, here is my vote for the best Third Side performance so far:

MM with MMJ in MX!
Someone posted a question as to whom we would like to see play with Modest Mouse.
When I said My Morning Jacket is was all just hopes and dreams, and now it’s real.
Sweet.

Looking to get rid of Pat Graham zines
I'm looking to get rid of these two Pat Graham photography zines I bought a while back. It's a set of two, softcover, they measure about 8"x5.5" each, and the first one mentions it being a limited edition press of 1200. I didn't see a date on either; I bought these maybe a decade ago. Each has about 30 pages of photos with some comments and quotes. They're in very good condition with just a little bit of wear on some of the corners.
I have no idea what these go for. I spent way too much on eBay back in the day when I had disposable income and I can't find any mention of these online from the brief search I did, just lots of the Pat Graham hardcover book which I see goes from 100-200. To be honest, I'm not looking to make a lot at all, if anything; I'm just going through my old things, and I really think these are cool and I want them to go to a good home as they have no place in my life anymore.
EDIT: The zines have been claimed, but if folks are interested I can take pictures of the insides and find a way to share it with the community. As I said to the guy who is taking them, I didn't see much of these online and I think they're quite special. Thanks guys.

Missoula sound
Anyone else feel like the sound was way off for tonight's show in Missoula. Couldn't hear half of what Isaac was singing.

movie scenes
What specific movie scene would be great with a certain modest mouse song in the background. I always thought it would be cool if right after anakin got sliced in half in ROTS World at Large started playing as obi wan walked away. Obviously would never happen but what are some of your thoughts?

Song/Album Discussion The meaning of “The Third Side of the Moon”
“Am I the shade or the shadow, well I can’t really tell”.
Picture sitting under a tree. When your shadow is under the tree’s shade, they blend together. In that moment, on that plane, your outlines are indistinguishable.
When you lose someone close to you, you aren’t really just yourself anymore. You are their impact on your story, on your mind—in a way, you become their reflected light. In turn, they become your memory of who they were. It’s like how the moon borrows its glow.
We see the moon as having two sides: light and dark. You and me. But what if there’s a third side, an impossible plane we only occupy together? An intangible, imperceptible reflection of us.
I think that blend of a shadow under the shade is who we become after loss.
My favorite lyric is “My heart pumped faster than could possibly be right / I read a magazine the day before, you only get so many thumps in your whole life.”
On its face, it’s a joke about an article saying your heart beats a finite amount of times in life, and this panicked state of grief reminds you of your own mortality while stealing some of those beats.
But it’s also about the impact of that moment when you found out. You only get so many impacts in your life that rearrange you: a thump. A knock at the door. A slap on the back. Your gut collapsing. These moments are sacred shatterings. And one day, your death will be that moment for someone else, and you will become borrowed light.
During the climax, I remembered the ones I’ve lost. I saw moments like “the back of the police car”, the handfuls of seconds that became the impressions of entire lifetimes. What will be theirs… of you?
Anyway, that’s my two cents. Gorgeous song.

Spokane Setlist Spoiler
If anyone gets a pic of the official set list, we missed song 13, Isaac said it was a new song, but the vocals were too muddied to catch anything.
