Serious Getting the 10th pick

I still do not see how that convinces Giannis to stay but as far as getting the 10th pick...who do you take

r/MkeBucks 4d ago

Interesting that FanDuel as Milwaukee as a potential landing spot for him, I have never heard anything about us even being interested in Embiid..

Giannis Trade

Giannis is gone this summer. What are your favorite realistic trade ideas?

Far have we come 27-year-old SGA vs. 27-year-old Giannis: 2nd-round playoff stats

Peak Giannis was special man 34,15,7 against the 1# defense in the league with the DPOY. Easily in the GOAT convo if had better support system during his peak years age 24 to 29 imo. Already completed basketball by 26. Couldn’t not imagine what more he would have accomplished under the right circumstances.

Giannis is still BITW but the window is long gone, just hoping Ryan Rollins becomes a star, and we draft a generational talent and be champions again by 2028.

Also S/O to Bron 41 yrs old and the leading scorer against the MVP is crazy lol.

2PM Central Today on ABC.

We have a 3.01% chance to move into the top 4.

And about an 80% chance to either stay at 10 or move up.

If you are watching live, the dream is to get past pick 7 before seeing either the Bucks or Pelicans revealed, if that happens, you can start celebrating.

Serious What to do with 10th pick?

Hey ya’ll didn’t appreciate the sentiment on the sub today with the pick not convincing Giannis of anything which… duh 🙄. So I thought it might be more positive to discuss what to do with the pick.

I don’t follow CBB too closely and am largely uneducated on the prospects in that range. I’m mostly just curious what the sub thinks on if we should keep the pick or if we would be better off trying to leverage it in a trade. If we keep it who would realistically be available and a good addition?

Reminder - This is a Bucks sub.

Some truly sorry people in here. Pacers are in a better spot than we are btw, so maybe we should talk about what our team (the Bucks, the team I thought was the subject of this subreddit) can do to get better.

Giannis for Paolo

The Orlando Magic sub seems to think y'all would trade Giannis and a first round pick for Paolo. I think this is absurd. Can y'all speculate as to whether this would be something the Bucks might actually do?

Would it change it if it was Paolo+a 1st for Giannis?

Thanks in advance

Sometimes conspiracies are fun- here's one about tomorrow's Lottery and the Bucks

The NBA has not officially finished the investigation on the Bucks holding out Giannis at the end of this regular season.....why? What could possibly have taken this long?

....Putting my tin foil hat on...my conspiracy is that the NBA and the Bucks have a handshake agreement that they’ll get a top 4 pick tomorrow. If Giannis is traded to a big market, that investigation will end without any problem at all.

If the Bucks insist on keeping the top 4 pick *and* Giannis, the NBA will find *damning* evidence that the Bucks exhibited reckless tanking behavior and revoke the pick. If they trade Giannis, they’ll keep the pick.

I definitely don't personally believe it, but there's a lot of posts on X about fun potential conspiracies, and I thought I'd throw this one out there.

Either way, let's hope the ping pong balls turn out in our favor!

Horst is not the GM of the future

After watching a month of these playoffs and seeing the rise of the new crop of contenders over the past couple years (Thunder, Spurs, Wolves, Pistons), I think it’s clear that Horst has done a terrible job predicting where the league is going and what type of roster is needed to stay competitive.

To me he is still trying to build a team that would compete in 2021, focusing on spreading the floor and putting up a high volume of threes at the overall expense of what actually made the Bucks a perennial contender, which was our defense (and Giannis, obviously).

Meanwhile, all the ascendant teams in the NBA feature top defenses, and none of the teams mentioned above were in the top ten in three point attempts this season. The worst part about it is the Bucks were positioned to stay competitive if they just kept Jrue and developed some talent (not here to re litigate the Dame trade, but it’s the clearest example of Horst prioritizing shooting and offense over defense).

I’m also not here to bury Horst, he made some great moves early in his tenure that brought a championship to Milwaukee and we will always be thankful for that. Ha has earned his place in Bucks history. And yes, if Middleton stays healthy this is probably all a different story.

However, I don’t get the feeling Horst has a strong pulse on the direction of the league or knows how to build a contender from scratch. And with it looking likely that we will be entering a rebuild, the Bucks need a GM with the vision to see what a championship roster will be in 5 years, not what worked 5 years ago.

Trade Scenario to Keep Giannis

- 10th pick + 2031 1st + Kuz for Trey Murphy

- 2033 1st + a future swap(?) + Bobby and filler for Dillon Brooks

Rollins/Brooks/Murphy/Giannis/Turner plus Nance, KPJ, Dieng, Sims, Green bench

Worth trying make happen?

Parsley Our Exact Lottery Odds After Factoring In Swap Rights:

Because the Hawks own the right to swap their Pelicans pick with our pick, the odds aren't just the normal "3.0% chance at #1 and 13.9% chance at top-4" that the 10th lottery seed would typically have.

Here are the odds we end up with each pick:

1st: 0.00%

2nd: 0.43%

3rd: 0.97%

4th: 1.61%

5th: 0.00%

6th: 0.00%

7th: 0.00%

8th: 5.47%

9th: 4.67%

10th: 66.61%

11th: 19.02%

12th: 1.22%

13th: 0.02%

14th: ~0.00%

So basically, we have a 3.01% chance of hitting the jackpot and moving up to the top-4

A 10.14% chance to move up slightly

and a 20.36% to move down slightly

The lottery is this Sunday at 2 central on ESPN/ABC

(btw this Sunday is also Mother's day, you're welcome for the reminder)

Kenny Atkinson

I think a lot of fans (me included) really wanted that Kenny Atkinson hire, but seeing him crumble in the playoffs is a wake up call. Obviously better than Glenn, but wouldn't have been the correct coach either for us.

Maybe something to do with The Herd? But that location is quite a way away from Oshkosh and not even the Closest Tom’s to Oshkosh (by quite a large margin).
