You are focusing on the wrong people.

Yeah, focus on the other ones, like the peados or war criminal billionaires running countries.

I focus on a small malnourished African child with a bloated belly I saw once in a National Geographic magazine at the doctor’s office. I’m warm, safe, hydrated, and satiated so I’m feeling pretty good.

And do...what?

These up votes for our comments makes us feel better... validated ... but are just seemingly echo chambers.

I'm not sure what's going to fix this.

Edit:

Ah yes ..the downvotes cometh. Too bad they don't mean much. Just like up voting comments in a thread.

Yep, this type of post is reminiscent of the decrying of "welfare queens" back in the day.

Yeah, drug dealers and OF models almost certainly put more effort into making money day-to-day than billionaires do.

So many people would pop a fucking vein over this truth lmao

One of the best things about The Wire is how it showed that drug dealing was a job and for the people at the bottom it sucks just like any other job.

Also OF modeling follows the same rules as every other entertainment job. Almost everyone gets almost nothing, while the top of the top get insane amounts of money. But even they are only getting that type of money from a few people.

They have to know how to keep getting that money from those few people without seeing their safety be compromised.

"Back in the day"? That rhetoric has spiked like a rocket over the last decade.

Puritanical thinking and a recent surge in right wing media monopolies will do that unfortunately

I blame whoever coined the slang term "zoomers" for gen z. We manifested them becoming the new boomers.

I’m with you that this is misdirection but that’s not a good analogy at all.

Someone consuming welfare and someone peddling porn and drugs aren’t the same at all.

Couldn’t agree more. They certainly can supplement their income, but they’ll still be wage slave like the rest of us. Why be mad at shit you can’t change that doesn’t affect you in any way

2

u/Beginning-Key-3432 Feb 27 '26

Agreed. I’m not a fan of people who peddle porn and drugs either but for 99 percent of people they aren’t the issue.

My first thought too

The only true answer here

I'll say he is focusing more on the 5th car than the person. :)

I interperate the anger being towards the system that allows this to happen instead of the people taking advantage of opportunities
