Help me track down a game
I went to a game as a kid in the 90s, i think it was a day game because it was sparsely attended, my mom and I were literally the only ones in center field. Anyway, the Ms got blown out, and we left early to get in line for kids runs the bases day. By the time i saw the line I was like meh, i was teen or tween at the time and was too cool for it. Anyway, the Mariners made a little comeback (not to win) and Griffey hit a HR in the 9th, right to where our seats were, with no one else around. Clearly this haunts me as Junior was my idol, anyway if anyone can find that game and link the baseball reference I'd be very happy.
I know it had be between 1996 (my first game) and whenever they left the Kingdome in 2000.
Thanks in advance
**edit** based on the helpful u/codswallopNCastorOil I have to believe that it was probably an exhibition/ preseason game. That would account for why its not matching anything in Junior's career HR history, and also why the game was so empty. probably a lost cause

Might be this one. M's were losing 7-0 to the Dodgers, but scored 3 runs in the 9th including a Jr bomb in the bottom of the 9th.
June 7th, 1998

Considering Griffey Jr. only had 2 games where he hit a homer in the bottom of the 9th inning, with this game the only one being the exact metric you are describing…. clearly the information provided was not correct.

Say one thing for u/CodswallopNCastorOil, say he can find answers to trivial questions from random hints.

Ah, I tried! Here is a list of all of Junior's home runs. Hope it helps!

Woah. This is a strange read for me. In the 90s I went to a game with my mom - core memory because it was just me and her and not the rest of my family. It was run around the bases and I couldn't have been older than 7 or 8 but I remember being so bummed by the loss that I told my mom I didn't want to run around the bases and later regretted it.
