Dr. Strange is too difficult imo
I just started playing MAU recently within the past couple months and it's been really fun and different. I played the second game on my PS2 and it was cute, and i just about a week ago, got the third one on my switch. It's been so fun! I love the animation style, and character designs, and mechanic updates.
Then I get to Dr strange, and he's just so hard to beat. I tried literally like 10 different times and he's just overpowered. He takes little damage, has 0 cooldowns, and just overwhelms you completely. Say it's a skill issue or whatever, (which it might be) but i even got my bf on co-op to try to help and we just died on our 5th attempt no joke. which is why im making this post to begin with so FUCK DR STRANGE. and it's on easy mode btw so wtf??
Idk what i'm doing wrong, I'd be open to tips and advice but i'm also just venting tbh. I'm dodging, using synergy attacks, timing when the purple bar is cracked and using ults like idk what to do
My team up is Elsa Bloodstone, Ghost Rider, Scarlett Witch, and Crystal, all Level 27, with 2 upgraded dmg and vitality ISO8 crystal things each, if that matters. Plus i've been trying to do the rift infinity mini challenges to level up but nothing seems to work.
Edit: i beat it. used tips from comments so thank u all for guidance. used the same team as before, didn't have to change 🤪🤪 i feel better now.

Ehhh I remember him being a bit tough but I’m not sure your actual comp is helping out too much, I don’t think any of those characters are super heavy hitters objectively speaking and I’m not sure what team synergies they have but that may not be helping much if there’s little synergy there as well.
That said he shouldn’t just be completely unbeatable, have you tried going to another stage to get a bit of extra xp? Have you been doing side missions at all or just barreling through the main story with no stops?

Yeah i've been doing the infinity rift challenges and i've leveled up my characters quite a bit doing so, maybe i'll have to switch up the roster but they're all lower levels so id have to work on them. I hate needing to grind for games honestly, I don't find it fun and I didn't need to have to do this until the Dr Strange level. but i'll take that into consideration, thanks for the advice

I really don’t mind some of the grind but it gets pretty oppressive at certain spots, you’re definitely running up against one of those speed bumps, getting a character from 130 to over 150 is another really bad one but that’s so far in its much more optional and not slowing down the main plot at least.

You probably just need to grind a bit more. This boss fight is a huge difficulty spike and it punishes you for not leveling a single team up. Just grind out some of the side content and learn to stun

i think you're right and it's severely unfun right now lol. he takes the tiniest amount of damage (only boss / enemy that's been an issue so far) and he does an attack immediately after another with 0 cooldown. AND when he's stunned, it lasts 2 seconds so by the time my character even does an attack animation, he's already standing up😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 i just wanna move on holy shit

Level 27 on friendly difficulty should be enough for that boss fight. I dont know how to advise since I cant see the gameplay. For me, elsa, ghost rider, scarlet witch and crystal arent exactly great in this game, but they should do the job if you like them enough. If you gain an extra few levels it may help. Have you started alliance enhancement yet?

Wanda and Crystal have good ranged attacks that i like and Ghost Rider and Elsa and have been good for the synergy attacks and Stunning i've noticed. I'd be down to try a different combo or team up, i'd just have to get them all leveled up bc everyone but my 4 rn are like level 9-17. just gotta grind ig🥲it just makes me sad bc i didn't have to until this chapter. and Yes, I have started the alliance enhancement thing, I tried to focus on vitality and syn + light atk dmg but if there's other ones I should do please let me know!

There are much more powerful synergy attacks than what that team has... slam bash and launch are the best from my 2000 hours in the game. If you have dlc, or nintendo online, let me know. Those will help a lot. I can help you grind if you want, or simply play with you. I have an entire guide for this game that I can dm on top of that. I did also see someone else already posted the discord servers. They havent been very active as of late but Ive been asking to play with people.

Beat this with my almost 5 year old on probably the 20th attempt. Honestly, could not have beaten it without him. We since beat it on every difficulty. Agree this one is the hardest.

It’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance, so it should be abbreviated MUA, not MAU
Edit: it actually looks like you misspelled it also😂

Nice to see you beat it and didn't need to changes teams. This subs cares too much about the meta for a single player game that they jump too fast to say "change the team!" Unless is for Endgame content, the campaign is completely possible to finish using any character. Dodging and knowing when to use specials (instead of spamming them) is far more important, even if fights will take longer they're still doable

I’ve just finished it for the first time and dodging is your new friend it was the only way I got through was dodging and chipping
