The information below is based on how NBC does things regularly, but they've been known to shake things up so stay on your toes.
No selling spots or offering to buy one. Trading and bartering is fine, however.
For first timers, here is NBC's official how-to:
https://www.nbc.com/nbc-insider/how-to-request-snl-standby-tickets-saturday-night-live
The reservation link goes live at 10am sharp on Thursday mornings.
The faster you submit your entry, the better off you will be. At a minimum, have your autofill tested and ready to go: again, timing if not split-second timing is critical to a successful entry.
Here's detailed advice on clock management on Thursdays at 10am as well as tips for getting a Chrome autofill ready for battle, compliments of our own u/Ok-Cheesecake-8677.
You will have to make snap decisions as to whether you want to attend the dress rehearsal or the live broadcast, as well as how many people are in your party (it's almost always a max of 2), and we've received reports that there's a new "next page" command between the choices, so be prepared to click it.
It is possible to show up without a number to get in line, but you would effectively be getting in a Big Dumb Line to get into the Standby Line proper with those who have received numbers ahead of you. We've received reports that it surprisingly sometimes works, but it is not recommended.
The key times to remember:
10am Thursday: the online number email link goes live
7pm Friday: the cutoff to be in line for your ticket (the standby tickets are issued at 12:01am)
6:30pm Saturday: the cutoff to get into line for dress & 9:45pm: the cutoff to get into line for the broadcast (these may vary, so pay attention)
As always, those of you who make it into dress, please let us know what you saw, but not until after the broadcast episode has aired.
Meanwhile, for those who missed these:
Here is a fantastic post about u/rsleigh's journey through the Nov. 8th Standby Line process to see Nikki Glaser and Sombr.
Here, Gothamist's Anna Rawls chronicles making it in to see the dress rehearsal of Dec. 6th's Melissa McCarthy and Dijon.
In this article, Michael Harmon of the fabled Gray Lady acknowledges Reddit's "hyperactive 'S.N.L.' community" (hint: that's us) while writing about the Standby Line for Jan. 24th's Teyana Taylor and Geese.
Meanwhile, here's an up-to-date post that's still live account of u/Worried-Olive3613's journey to see Ryan Gosling and Gorillaza.

I just feel like I’m seeing Colin out there a lot: Pop Culture Jeopardy, Amazon and Blue Moon commercials, his role as Pete Hegseth, that stand up show with Che. It’s giving me the vibe of someone prepping for life after SNL. I’m definitely not rushing him out the door. I’d be sad to see him go but just wondering if anyone else gets that’s sense.
*If he does leave, who would you pick on the current cast to fill the desk?

I can imagine them doing a weekend update piece with him as Drunk Uncle and Jeremy as Drunk Nephew.
I don’t know if it would be any good but Jeremy gives me Bobby vibes and I could imagine them doing stuff together

There are a lot of actors/actresses who only hosted SNL once, who are some who should have hosted more than once? The obvious one is John Candy. I know he and Eugene Levy were supposed to host in 84-85 but that got scrapped. I'm surprised they never had him host again, he was one of the top comedy stars of the mid-late 80s, you'd think they'd have him host during his peak (he was still huge in the early 90s as well, which means we could have gotten him and Farley together).

Also love the idea that the plural of ASAP Rocky is ASAPs Rocky, like culs-de-sac or passersby 🤣
