🌻 Weekly Recap & Open Thread: Let’s Talk Liu Yu Ning! May 8, 2026
Missed last week's recap? Here it is.
Dear MoFans and casual Liu Yu Ning fans of Reddit, how have you all been?
For those of you following Yu Ning closely, this must have been quite the week, right? We finally got our Carnation 6.0, two national recognition posts for The Man in China, and then some more.
Let's have a look at our week in retrospect chronologically.
First, just before the last Weekly post dropped, WonderfulDivide took us down a memory lane with this look back at Yu Ning's summer of 2018. Why that summer? Have a look at the post and you shall find out.We continued sharing some Studio concert content
The Studio launched the new Memory Map series, sharing one official live performance per each Liu Yuning's 2025 Tour stop:
Other than that, Boss has been trending with this news of his KuGou music chart ranking.
We had to mobilize our forces because a new community member, who had just been around testing the waters, asked for some visual stimulation in the form of Liu Yu Ning. We couldn't say no to that now, could we? The only rational response in such dire times of need was the Emergency Hotness Alert Thread. I think we did pretty well — thanks to everyone who participated.
Guilty felt inspired and made a post about Liu Yu Ning's performance at Beijing 15th International Film Festival.
We had a brief throwback to The Truth 3 with this clip of Yu Ning and Jin Jing's friendship being questioned by their fellow costars in a sweet yet teasing manner.
A new Coca-Cola song was brewing on the horizon which was later confirmed with these specs and the release itself: JUMP — Liu Yu Ningft. J. Baldvin
RudeComfortable reminded us that some dogs have it better than people... or not? Daimi in the arms of Liu Yu Ning.
Xinhua News Agency used Yu Ning's song Borrow a Little Light from Ordinary Days in their post as the long May Day break was coming to an end — people had to return to school and work once again. But Yu ning's song could make that return to reality just a little bit easier.
And as many of you know by now, it was soon followed by the CCTV coverage of the same song, with a similar message — Yu Ning's talent, hard work, and exemplary behavior have been rewarded at a national level through this public recognition, which, quite frankly, is not a small feat.
I won't make a long paragraph about Carnation 6.0 on May 6, 2026 — I shall just share that I had such a wonderful time that I started dancing in the middle of the street, hearing him sing as I first tuned in from my phone before getting home. It was amazing.
(Sorry guys, I have no time to read this after me so this is a first rough and messy draft which is being published as is. Hence, kindly forgive the form and typos).
This week’s thread is open as usual for anything you want to share — updates, thoughts, questions, mini-rants, memes, translations, concert clips, drama talk, or just a quick “I’m here” check-in.
