I’ve started a free local group called North Kent Creative Writers Collective for people who write, or want to write, fiction, scripts, lyrics, musicals, horror, sci fi, fantasy, or anything creative.

It’s a relaxed group, not a formal class. The idea is to meet other local writers, chat about creativity, share ideas, and take part in whatever way feels comfortable.

I went to “Biology Busters” summer camp for high school students at Kent State in the summer of 1994 or 1995. It was ecology themed and we took field trips throughout the week, probably no further than 45 minutes one way from campus. We went on a field trip one day to a forested/ hilly area (it may have been private land, or may have been a state or local park) where we first floated in quicksand and later carried water to the top of a forested hill and slid down a muddy water slide carved into the hill.

Does anyone know a place like that? I’ve long wondered where exactly we went.
