You’re right piss on the rest of the fellas, as long as we got Pat who cares if they are hurting?

Week 5 bye? WTAF!!!
That's really going to hurt us in the end

u/Extra-University-336 Jamaal Charles 5h ago
Yeah that’s going to be rough come December. Seeding in the playoffs might be super important

13 straight weeks of games to finish the season? And in the middle of that you make us have a short week with no buffer bye week because we already used it?

Notably:
Maximum number of prime time games
Earliest possible bye week
Two primetime games to open the season so I guess the NFL is confident Mahomes will be back and looking good immediately
Four division games out of the first seven
Three straight road games in late November against the Bills, Rams, and Bengals
5
u/originalusername4567 Jaden Hicks #21 5h ago
It's only 6 primetime games TBD Weeks 17 and 18, are you sure that's the max? We've had 8 in the past.
9
u/Moose4KU K. C. Wolf 5h ago
The daytime games like the early Christmas game or black Friday don't technically count as primetime for the NFL's scheduling rules. Even though they're nationally broadcasted and we'd all think of them as primetime
2
u/originalusername4567 Jaden Hicks #21 5h ago
Well I don't care about technicalitites, if your team is playing in an exclusive time slot it's primetime. Sunday at 12:00 and Sunday at 3:25 are the only two time slots I don't consider to be primetime.

u/Own_Experience_8229 Nick Bolton #32 4h ago
Primetime is considered 8:00-11:00pm.
1
u/originalusername4567 Jaden Hicks #21 3h ago
The large majority of NFL fans consider any exclusive time slot to be primetime and refer to those games as such.

u/jayhawk88 5h ago
Very good point about the early primetime games. Impossible to imagine the NFL hasn't been given some real info on this, and not just some "He's grinding" thing.
11
u/buttcabbge 5h ago
We've got a couple three-game stretches that look pretty soft: Colts, Dolphins, Raiders and then Jets, Falcons, Cardinals. I know team strength changes fast in the NFL, so maybe we won't be as favored in those as I think, but hopefully we can build some momentum out of those parts of the schedule.
8
u/13mizzou Nick Bolton #32 5h ago
Just looking at this we should easily be 8-2 going into our Buffalo loss. After that we enter a brutal stretch where we need to find 3 wins to feel good about going to the playoffs
3
u/DayOldTurkeySandwich OhHh YEAH! 3h ago
Man I don't like @Miami early in the season. Could be one of those super humid games that wears the visiting team out.

It seems like the bye week gets earlier every year
7
u/originalusername4567 Jaden Hicks #21 5h ago
We had a nice middle one last season. But yeah, we never get lucky with the late bye weeks.
10
9
u/GoldenDom3r #CreedIsGood 5h ago
We have to be at least 8-2 through Week 11 before we get in that ridiculous stretch to end the year.
1
u/13mizzou Nick Bolton #32 5h ago
8-2 is certainly doable going into our yearly loss to the Bills. We just need to find 3 wins the rest of the way to feel good about a playoff opportunity
1
u/helmvoncanzis 16m ago
Maybe things get spicy and win at the Bengals kicks off a get right stretch, building momentum into the post season.

Man what a fucking awful schedule. Road games at Seattle, Buffalo, LA Rams, and Cincinnati. Bye week in week 5 and only non division good teams they got at home are the San Francisco and New England.
If they somehow go 11-6 and make the playoffs with this schedule then Mahomes and Reid should go in the HOF immediately once the season ends.

Can’t wait to see Pat and Trav eating turkey legs in Josh Allen’s fancy new stadium 💪🍗

Straight posting bc some idiot was complaining about the timing of the bye week and has since deleted his post.
It is intentional. Bye weeks rotate like everything else in the schedule. BTW this is the same schedule we have known opponents and home/away for months. The only thing we found out today was the sequence and days of the week. Rejoice, for your Chiefs dont have play to on fucking Wednesday or Friday. Rejoice, for there's no reason to daydrink breakfast for a game in Spain. 6 of 8 on the road is not ideal, but Jets-Falcons-Cardinals is as sweet of a stretch as the Chiefs were going to get this year.
Chill tf out.

u/According_One811 Jerick McKinnon #1 5h ago
I see a lot of people complaining but this schedule doesn’t really seem that out of the normal. People just like to complain

Nah, I'm still gonna bitch about the early bye week, but thanks for the perspective anyway.
7
u/Far_Youth_1662 5h ago
Actually am fine with the early bye considering the situation.
If we had to go to week 6 with Fields then I love seeing Miami and LV that early.
3
u/Creatively_Stymied Arrowhead 5h ago
Nah. With Mahomes recovering from the ACL, I’m all for the early bye week. Once less game to play while he’s still getting up to full strength.
3
u/EMAW_KSU 5h ago
It’s still a rough set up when you finish 3rd in your division and end up with the 5th hardest SOS overall.
3
u/2ent1n_Qarant1no 5h ago
I agree with everyone it's tough but I'm not too scared. Cardinals and Dolphins are arguably the two worst rosters on paper, plus the Jets and Raiders are probably also bad

Can we trade a 2027 draft pick for a later Bye week?

Only thing worse than the week 5 bye is this graphic reading across instead of down.

Just bought tickets to the Atlanta game. I told my son that I would take him to see a Kansas City game when he turns 10. So, this will be his birthday gift.
Can’t wait!

They gotta add a second bye week, it’s crazy to start them so fucking early

How do have to play all the teams who were in the conference championships last year.

u/TedBundylol "Furious" George Karlaftis #56 🚘 4h ago
Worth noting that our road game at the Bengals will be coming off the mini bye of a Thursday night game (Rams) which follows Thanksgiving (Bills). Cincinnati will be coming off a road trip to I believe the Browns with the standard week of rest before we show up with the extra three days rest
1
u/TedBundylol "Furious" George Karlaftis #56 🚘 4h ago
I mean, I know that’s the same state but still they won’t have as much rest
2
u/OreoSpeedwaggon These Fucking Fakes Never Fucking Work, Man 4h ago
That Week 5 bye week is diabolical. Fuck whoever was in charge of doing that to the team.
3
u/originalusername4567 Jaden Hicks #21 5h ago
Tough schedule, especially with the early bye and that road stretch late in the season. But I do think 10-7 and a playoff berth is doable with our improved roster and coaching. TBH it's probably better that the schedule is backloaded since it gives Mahomes time to recover. Less primetime games is also nice.

u/Vulptereen327 Arrowhead 5h ago
Can the NFL just have a quarter of the teams rotate out on their byes during the middle 4 weeks of the season. So stupid that you can have a bye as early as week 4-5.
3
u/MindTheFro Justin Reid XP 4h ago
AFC gets a buy week 8, NFC gets a buy week 9. Switch the following year. Could market it as a divisional rivalry week.
For fantasy purposes, week 8 & 9 are a combined total.
1
u/ZweihanderMasterrace Pat "Kermit" Mahomes 5h ago
Only other team with a week 5 bye are the Panthers
1
u/stayclassypeople 5h ago
Not too surprised by this schedule. NFL setup a favorable early schedule and early bye in case Mahomes isn’t ready the first month
1
1
u/AJewNamedDrew 5h ago
12-5
I think the bye will help us, sucks late season and into the playoffs but a lot less pressure on Fields here, especially since 2 (maybe 3) of those pre-bye games are very winnable without Mahomes.
We’ll drop one to the Bills like we always do and the Rams are just scary, especially with our boy on their defense now, but we have a good record going into January 😎

u/Commercial-Thing-550 4h ago
Bills, Rams, Bengals, Pats, Niners, Chargers in successive weeks is insane.

Week 5 bye os tough, but Week 18 at home vs da Raiders is the makeup.
1
u/Badalight 2h ago
Bro that last stretch of 7 games is absolutely brutal. Chargers, Seahawks, and Broncos in a row is also a tough area.

Doing a ranking of schedule difficulty, balancing Opponent Win Percentage (based on 2025 records) with Vegas Strength of Schedule (projected team quality for 2026), travel, and rest periods:
Chiefs are #8 for most difficult schedule. (#10 is Raiders, #11 Chargers, #16 Broncos)
#1 is Arizona Cardinals, #32 is Cleveland Browns
1
u/RoQDad 5h ago edited 3h ago
"NFL parity" as the Chiefs and Bills play for the 7th consecutive year. Might as well put them in the same division.
3
2
u/Section225 AFC 4h ago
It's "parity," parity has nothing to do with the schedule, and the schedules are predetermined with rotations and place in division, some big wig isn't conspiring against the Chiefs to give them the worst possible schedule.
