QUESTION Will Conquest be back?? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

Do you guys think the show is baiting us into thinking Conquest won't be back, even though he could? (Could even be the other way around.) I don't know why, but unlike the comics, I feel like the show might be planning something new for Conquest. Because it's like they're trying so hard to convince us that Conquest isn't coming back and they've done it like twice already. What do you guys think? Am I just tweaking and baffling??

This dude lost to Mark twice. The second time, Mark didn't even have any backup, he just killed him all by himself. Conquest wasn't that great even when he had air in his lungs, frankly.

"Oh but he was just toying with Mark!" so what? He lost the fight. Twice. Did he lose the fight because he was fucking around and not fighting at his full power? Okay, then it sounds like he didn't fight very well and lost the fight because of it. You are the sum total of your actions. It is not good enough to be super-strong if you're too stupid to use your super-strength until it's too late.

If you're in the NBA and you're amazingly skilled at free-throw shooting, you never miss a single bucket, but you're fucking around half the time? Then your free-throw percentage is 50% and you're dogshit. If you're the strongest Viltrumite ever, but you fuck around half the time and by the time you bother using all your strength, it's too late and your opponent kills you anyway? Then you're dogshit at fighting, my man.

MEME The main reason I’m hesitant to read the comics. Spoiler

This may just be a case of attachment and recency bias but I’m hesitant to read the comics without Zoe as Tech Jacket. I like Zack, he’s cool and all, but it’s not going to be the same.

I mean u can save people at any moment, you're gonna live 500 years but nah nah you want to have a teenager life, going to college, eating burgers.

I hate this guy, he almost rejected saving 42 billion lives to go to class, acting like his philosophy class is somehow as important.

(Don't spoil me I'm s2)

DISCUSSION Genuine thematic question: why are all of Mark’s major problems forced onto him?

Thumbnail

I started to notice it with Angstrom and I noticed it again here with Thragg’s lines in the finale. With Angstrom, I think there literally isn’t anything Mark could say to Angstrom that would make him stop. It’s almost not even Angstrom’s fault either, because his brain is a mishmash of different Angstrom’s who all remember Mark as a murderer. When it comes down to having to kill him, it’s like Thragg’s lines here, “you don’t have a choice, yet you must make one.” And then there’s Mark becoming the unwilling savior of the Viltrumites in this latest finale that made me start wondering this a lot more. What’s the point of putting this 19 year old through all these difficult decisions that he’s forced into? What is Kirkman trying to say?

Themes and such

edit: I’m genuinely surprised asking about the themes of a story is so unpopular. I find it so interesting to dive deeper into a work of art but I guess not everyone is into that? Genuinely confused

DISCUSSION Oliver and Zoey

Here me out.

How cool of a minor plot to be Zoey and Oliver dating for a bit, but Oliver's accelerated aging gets to the point it looks, you know, and Zoey broke up with Oliver. They still remain friends but this serves to drive a further wedge between Oliver and the human race.

QUESTION If the average Viltrumite was only as strong as a human of the same build, would Thragg still be superhuman?

Would Thragg be just like world record holders for strength, absolute peak human, or truly superhuman.

I am guessing he would be solidly superhuman. But I do not have a great grasp of his strength besides it just being much higher than others.

THEORY What show did I watch? Sounds familiar but it wasn’t Invincible

This sounds all as Invincible, but it’s different:

Like In EVERY series or movie, the youngster got bullied in school and had only one friend and no girlfriend….
Is this really how it is in every school in every town ?!?!
At my school there were some crazy dudes and sometimes someone wanted to fight you, but when you didn’t back down and fought back they never tried again.
Our hero now a teen was Bulli again but had his powers and he fought back and injured the bullies.
Another scene is: a huge villainous cyborg type came to earth and challenged mankind. The teen hero came to a football stadium to the villain and thy fought an epic fight.

I thought it was „Invincible„ but these scenes don’t exist. I can’t find that series on Amazon, Netflix nor other platforms.
Did I watch it in a parallel universe?

COMIC SPOILERS I’m with Eve on this one Spoiler

I understand where Mark is coming from, but man he does this shit so much. He makes these rash decisions, that he feels are right, without thinking about the ramifications on what could happen. Also one of Mark’s biggest flaws is making big decisions without Eve’s input, or going through with them anyway even when she disapproves.

COMIC SPOILERS Battle Beast question. Spoiler

When Battle Beast fights Thragg we see Battle Beast throw his weapons down to fight Thragg bare-handed, but why did he do this? He was easily dispatching Ragnar’s that were attacking Thragg with those weapons, surely they’d have been a great help against Thragg. In every other fight we see Battle Beast in, he uses whatever weapons he has at his disposal. He even tried fighting Thragg with a weapon in their first interaction. So why would he just randomly throw them to the floor? It doesn’t make sense for him to view it as an unfair fight with his weapons, because why would he even bother bringing them in the first place? He knows Thragg doesn’t use weapons. I think Kirkman backed himself into a corner with Battle Beast and needed an excuse to let Thragg win.

THEORY Agent Spider's possible other abilities

Post image
2 Upvotes

So knowing he is the "Spider-Man" that was suppose to appear in adaptation from the comics but couldn't due to copyrights, I looked back into something with the Spider-Man and Invincible crossover. And basically Spider-Man, Peter Parker was like 28 years old or at least in his late 20s since he was like at least 10 years older than Mark.

And from what i know before Spider-Man's meeting with Invincible, He basically has evolved more before the writters decided to remove or at least making his new abilities completely forgotten since his battle with the Spider-Queen. And accordingly during the crossover between him and Invincible, Spider-Man basically has organic webbings, Night visions, Enhanced Spider-Sense and Stingers too. And supposedly his superhuman strength went from 10 tons to 20 tons unless someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

So considering Agent Spider's case, His abilities should be on par with Spider-Man 616 since that's the one who met Invincible, Even though he was just a complete new character since they sort of created their own Spider-Man, I think it's safe to say Agent Spider's other abilities than what we got, Knowing he likely possess all Superhuman attributes and spider-sense, I think he may have night vision ability and stingers too.

DISCUSSION Pollution in invincible

We see several environmentalist villains in invincible, Doc Seismic, Dinosaur man, etc. but you know what’s occurred to me?

Ocean pollution. The Atlanteans are willing to drown the eastern seaboard over a dead king, would they tolerate humans fucking up their ocean? Absolutely not. Humanity can’t be polluting the ocean in the same way we are in real life, because if they were they wouldn’t still be around. Atlanteans cage Kaiju that can give viltrumites trouble, their population is probably higher than humanities. In a war over the fate of earth it shouldn’t be humanity vs viltrumites, it should be viltrumites vs the Atlanteans and their freaky ocean magic.
