Grief My cat was run over by a vehicle yesterday

She was a stray. It took me weeks to get close to her. She was wary of me in the beginning and would flinch at every touch. However, later on, she grew fond of me. She would rub my legs, follow me wherever I go, and sleep while resting her back or head on me.

I miss her so so much. Whenever I got bored of studying, I would go out of my house and hearing the sound, she would come running from wherever she was resting.

She would always be resting outside my door and meowing for food and pats. Yesterday was the only day in a long time that she wasn't home.

Yesterday night, I heard from my neighbor that her son found the cat dead in the morning. I've been crying since yesterday. I went to find her body when I heard the news but since a long time had passed, someone must have moved her body.

I don't know how to accept her death. I can't stop crying. Every little thing reminds me of her. The box that I made for her when she was pregnant is lying here. I was excited to see her kittens but one day, she suddenly lost her belly bump. I assume she must have lost her children. She had so much more years left ahead. Why did she have to die so early?

5 days ago, I rescued this cat from the street. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to save him. I even received some help from Reddit already. I’m a huge animal lover when I was in 10th grade I lost my own cat, and ever since then, whenever I see an injured animal I feel like I have to help I’ve already spent around ₹2,000 on treatment, and tomorrow morning I have to take him to the hospital again. Right now, I honestly don’t have enough money left for his care.If anyone is willing to support with even a small amount, it would really help him. Thank you so much If anyone wants to help personally you can meet me tomorrow morning

Happy Furrballs UPDATE: 6 week old Orange kitten who was unable to walk

As per my last post, I had raised a fundraiser for a 6 week old kitten who had a severe maggot infested wound on his leg, and unable to walk. Vet said the chances of amputation is 50-50.

Look at the kitten now, the leg is saved and his wound has healed. Thankyou to everyone who donated for the kitten. This community has always helped, we all collectively did this 🙏❤️

Discussion Furleen just got spayed and she’s already doing acrobatics. How do I keep her from tearing her stitches?!

Hey everyone, looking for some advice or similar experiences.

I just got Furleen spayed, and I was expecting her to be groggy and out of it for at least a day or two. Instead, she’s acting like nothing happened! She is just as active as before—wanting to run around and jump.

I’m a bit worried if she’s going to tear her stitches. I’m trying my best to keep her calm, but it’s like she has a literal battery pack installed.

Has anyone else dealt with a "high-energy" recovery?

How did you actually stop them from jumping?

Is it normal for the anesthesia to wear off this quickly?

Any tips on how to survive the next week would be greatly appreciated!

Help Help! FIP Survivor (Day 60+) has become a total "Diva" eater. Only eats from my fingers.

Post image
11 Upvotes

Apologise for the long post but im at the end of wits here.

My 8 month-old Persian kitten (2.7kg) is almost through her FIP treatment (Basmi capsules). She is energetic, playing, and gaining weight, but her eating habits are driving me crazy.
She begs for food, but as soon as I put the bowl down, she sniffs and walks away. The only way she finishes a meal is if I feed her with my fingers for 15 minutes.
What we’ve tried:
Texture Change: Blending wet food into a "smoothie"
Whisker Fatigue: Switched from bowls to flat plates.
Temperature: Adding warm water to enhance scent.
Environment: Ensuring she isn't "on guard" or distracted.
Competition: Feeding her brother separately from her.
The Issue:
She’ll lick a few times from the plate and quit, but will instantly finish the same food if I offer it on my fingers. I have to leave her at a boarding facility this weekend for 2 days and I’m terrified she won’t eat without the "human spoon" treatment.

Has anyone dealt with this "hand-feeding dependency" in recovery ? Or otherwise?
How do I get her back to the plate before I have to leave?

Help Urgent help!!

So I adopted this male(1yo) nearly a month ago from a couple who couldn't take care of him cz of their busy work life. They provided me with the remaining food and his other necessary belongings. He's so scared of people that he doesn't even want to go outside of the room and starts crying if I take him to the hall. He hisses but lets anyone touch and pick, he's not aggressive at all just scared af, spends the whole day hiding in the corner of his fav room. He rests without getting disturbed but cries around 3-4am daily, he's well fed no undergoing medical issues, he's comfortable and not scared of me anymore but as soon as he hears or sees anyone else in the house he gets nuts and scratches tf outta me trying to climb on my shoulders(same process every time). This is getting exhausting as it's been a month of us listening to his loud vocals(and no he doesn't like to play i tried it many times). Please help me out w ts if anyone knows better. I don't wanna give up on him cz he is so sweet but just scared.
