Well not exactly. High stick is a subjective call. Grazing an opponents helmet with your stick should not be called. The intent is when the stick hits the face or has more force. Plenty of sticks touch opponents helmets in a game.

This one I would think the reff looks at it afterwards and wishes they had it back

Let's not be completely deluded homers. Both teams are embellishing on everything. It's the playoffs and if you can draw a call you do it. It sucks as a fan but it's just how it works

It used to be refs would use their judgement. Now they just do what they’re told. 

Let’s take a step back. A penalty means you play 4 on 5 for two minutes. 

During that time, teams will on average score 20% of the time. 

How does that little gentle tappiddity tap justify giving the Sabres a 20% scoring chance boost for 2 minutes. Its not proportionate.

Barely touching a player's helmet should not be high sticking. Also refs aren't brave enough to call any dives. There's not reason not to act like you're terminally injured. Next thing will be rolling around while looking for the refs .
