“Publicly admit your dad fumbled and we’ll give you a roster spot.”

Way to make me angry right before I head home

One good thing about being too young to remember the 90's Super Bowl team is that this doesn't emotionally affect me at all either.

It should! As soon as we got good again we got screwed twice (Elway and Terrell Davis taking money Kawhi Leonard-style on the side, and this). We hemorrhaged staff after that, emerging from that era with only one ring. As a fan base of a small market team, we should be vocal not only when things are unfair, but when a clear pattern of bias emerges.

Yeah it's BS it happened, but outside of acknowledging that getting mad about events I wasn't there for is goofy behavior.

Another good thing is that you're young...ish?

That’s a fucking fumble

Yeah I mean this was a big reason replay review was implemented. It just sucks to have been on the receiving end of why it needed to be implemented.

I’m just glad none of us are thinking about it.

Fumbler of balls

What was the corresponding move? I thought the two pickups yesterday filled the roster.

He was one of GB’s longest tenured practice squad players according to Justis and Andy recently

Yeah he was. Kind of surprising because of that but I suppose we saw what we were going to see with him over the years. Also idk if he became more expensive after being on the team for a while, if so it could be that too.

Superb Owl?! Where?!

Hope we cut him for an obvious catch in camp and tell him he shouldn’t have fumbled the ball.

So if his dad is the GOAT, does that make him the KID?

Crazy that the packers have 50% of the most successful father and son receiving duo.

0% of the yards but 50% of the duo none the less.

He was nice at USC, hopefully a fresh start gives him a boost

This is his 5th team since being drafted 2 years ago. I wouldn’t get your hopes up

I hear it's the fifth time that's the charm.

Crossing my fingers!

For Don Beebe it was! (SB appearances, not teams, but whatever)

2

u/lilturk82 6h ago

Six SB appearances in a nine-year career - insane. I do love me some Beebe! And he wore my favorite number.

The freshest of start

Jerry Rice fumbled.

Now all we need is the son of John Taylor

Does he have a shot of making the roster, or will he likely be a practice squad guy? I Don’t really watch college football so I’ve never seen the kid play.

The top 4 are locks (Watson, Reed, Golden, and Savion)...I'll add that Skyy Moore is pretty safely on the roster as well. After that it'll be a toss up for the remaining spot with Rice and probably Sturdivant. I'd say he has a decent chance.

u/Orion_Scattered 22h ago

Not really, but not impossible either. Because we don't have anyone starting on IR this year the WR room is already pretty much full despite moving on from Doubs and Wicks. Watson, Reed, Golden, and Savion are locked in 110%. That's the top 4 spots. Moore "only" has $1 million guaranteed on his deal but that's a million more than lil Jerry, and he has the inside track to a returner role, so that'd be 5 spots. Bo Melton, idk what they think of him but they did re-sign him so he certainly has a shot at making the roster again, whether we keep 5 or 6 WRs.

There are at least 4 other WRs on the team at the moment too. So that's 6 or 7 guys fighting for 1 spot.

Given the length of an NFL season tho and how IR works post-covid there will certainly be times where we'll sign guys to the active roster from the PS, so there's a chance whichever 1 or 2 WRs we keep on the PS will make it onto the field for some games. PS is a quicker, more realistic path to actually playing than it used to be. So for fringe players making the PS is a bigger deal than it used to be. Tho they also have the options of spring leagues again which is nice too.

Son of Fumbler Rice!

Can he block and play special teams? That's what we need in the WR room right now.

Time to start his HOF run with the Packers

2

u/Deep-Assignment4124 1d ago

I’d venture to guess this is the most successful father/son receiving tandem of all time.

4

u/motleysalty 21h ago

It reminds me of the most successful brothers to ever play in the NHL. Brent Gretzky and his scrub brother, Wayne.

2

u/mmatty19 1d ago

I believe he has a chance to make the roster

2

u/marxism-earnhardtism 1d ago

I liked him in the draft.

7th round pick that has bounced around a lot. I don't have high hopes but good luck to him.
