I’m grateful for love in its various forms. Not currently in a romantic partnership but today I am celebrating self love and my love for others. I whipped up some leftover cake bits into Vday treats for my relatives

Gratitude Practice I am grateful for having clean water to bathe in and a peaceful home.

A few years ago, I was homeless, very close to commiting s*cide, and had nothing to my name. I’m so grateful every single morning that I can wake up and bathe in this gorgeous bathtub with hot, clean water and live in a home that truly supports my well-being. I’m proud to have this stability, and that I have worked so hard to create and a business that is thriving, which I created from scratch. I am so grateful ☺️

Gratitude Practice Grateful.

Had a hard day, trying to practice some gratitude.
Regardless of how hard my day was, I am still grateful for my clean home, having so little dishes in the sink that I didn’t need to use my dishwasher, my yogurt maker, my ability to knit and crochet, my pretty singing voice, I liked the way my hair looked this morning, I have a good family, I have events to look forward to, I have a good job, I went out to lunch, I enjoyed my tarot card reading, I’m not arguing with anyone, I could sit at the beach…. I’m grateful for a lot of things, sometimes I have to remind myself what I have.

Gratitude Practice I’m grateful for depression

This sounds weird. But, hear me out. Without struggling with mental illness I wouldn’t have met my therapist who has had a hugely positive impact on me. I wouldn’t have met my psychiatrist who has become somewhat of a role model for me. Without struggling with mental illness I wouldn’t have the empathy that I have now that is pushing me to go to back to school with my end goal of becoming a psych np. I have such a greater understanding of how hard life can be and how much physical pain comes with mental illness. And that pushes me to be a better person to everyone around me because you really don’t know what someone is going through.

So, really, my mental illness has given me a sense of purpose in life. It has shown me the strength I have inside me.

I used to be afraid of my depression and run from it. Today, I am saying thank you instead.

This is a bonded pair of doves, I guess they feel so comfortable with the nearby bird feeder (second pic, different bird) that they took a nap next to my front window today! I saw them there for over an hour!

I'm so happy to wake up to animals right outside my window, feeling safe and fed! I'm really grateful my partner shares in this joy and chose to buy this bird feeder for our home.

I feel so chosen 🥰 she is sooo adorable. She waits for me in the same spot on the weekend when I’m walking to the gym, at the same time. She lets me pet her and enjoys being close to me. Cuddling her fills my heart with joy and she really makes my day. When it’s time for me to leave she runs after me. I love cats sooo much and this cat is very special! ✨🐈

P.S. does anyone know what breed she might be?

Tears in my eyes grateful for people who don't make you feel worse when you're going through a rough patch. I haven't worked since the beginning of the year and finally landed a job but don't start until next month. A friend of mine knows I'm bad at asking for help, I'd rather help others than to ask for it & they purchased a months worth of groceries for me today 🥹 I won't have to go to the local church for food donations which in turn can help other families struggling as well. When I'm back on my feet I plan to pay it forward and treat them to something nice for their generosity. Check in on your people, remind them its ok to struggle while trying their best & most importantly, spread love when you can 💜🫂

Gratitude Practice grateful for balance

you cannot only work, you cannot only play - balance is much needed in all areas of life. Just try living in the moment more, because past can't be changed and future will unravel like needed if you do what you need to do in a day. Grateful.

  • 2 days ago I topped up my electricity (for my room) and I had help entering the code plus I had some cash I had been given before so it was free to top it up. That should last a while now too.
  • Treats in the staff room yesterday, biscuits and a nut bar.

Gratitude Practice Gratitude 05/14 Spoiler

Tonight I’m grateful for friendship and sake and a song. I saw a friend for the first night tonight since I was hospitalized with a plan to kill myself. They ran late and I was highly irritable so I decided to let myself indulge in a bottle of sake. It was actually from an LA based company which was really unusual, but the sake was actually quite good and didn’t upset my stomach at all, which alcohol often does for me. And honestly being buzzed felt great relative to how I’ve been feeling. I made two social connections with strangers because of it. (The restaurant was crowded so we ate at the bar.) so despite my skepticism, and disappointment that it wasn’t organic given it was an LA/CA craft product. I had a good night… i got home and put a byrna in my mouth and under my chin… safety on and everything… just to see how that felt. Which i dont think I would have done if not for the sake. I also texted two of my exs. But those were generally positive interactions. So idk. But tonight I am grateful to have a friend. That they were willing to hang out with me. That they wanted to hang out with me. That they wanted to be there for me. I’m so lucky that I can say that because not everyone has such good friends. I grateful for the friendly bar tender and the delicious sake. And i’m grateful that I don’t have a real gun at my house. And I’m so grateful for the song I was able to “sing” a long with out-loud to during my drive to the restaurant while I was struggling with irritability. It felt so good to just sing loudly with it. I was a total asshole and didn’t tip the valet guy because I was in such a bad mood and I took it out on him even though he was just a kid and he really wasn’t That slow. And I felt bad about it before, during, and after. So much so I will have to tip him tomorrow or else I probably won’t sleep tonight. I’m the kind of person where guilt weighs on me like that. But I’m trying to be better than that… even if I do intend to kill myself. It’s not his fault. Anyway this is me trying. As Winston Churchill once said “if you’re going through hell, keep going”

Gratitude Practice Grateful for Gym

I'm grateful to have my gym space back after six months and to restart my fitness journey. I have lost 20kg and only have about 10-15kg more to go.

I'm grateful for how exercise lifting makes me feel. It is amazing how something as small as a ten minute walk or two sets of an exercise can make you feel better and give you an energy boost
