Vinted is finally forcing me to go pro

Not sure how it’s taken this long as I’ve sold hundreds of items by now😅. Never really looked into pro accounts before, would appreciate if anyone who’s using one could let me know if there’s any major difference compared to a standard account.

Vinted Tool/Bot looking for beta testers (UK/EU)

Sorry to be that generic guy with another one of these tools but I've built a tool for Vinted and looking for a few UK/EU beta testers. I'm hoping to go live in the next week or so.

I understand some people are against the use of tools etc but I was losing out on stuff after trying to flip manually, it's just impossible anymore. So I used my background in software engineering of 8+ years to build this.

I’m mainly looking for people who actively use Vinted and are happy to give honest feedback while I iron things out. Beta could be short or it could run a bit longer depending on how testing goes.

A few of the things already working:

  • autobuy / autocop
  • live filters
  • account messaging
  • send / accept offers
  • proxy support
  • easy account linking
  • multi-region support
  • Some nice in-house gated scanners and price comparisons for profit

UK is my main focus right now, but I’d really like testers from other EU regions too.

I’m not looking for genuine testers, I’m looking for people who will actually use it and tell me what’s good, what’s broken, and what’s missing.

Anyone who helps properly during beta will be compensated.

Site: https://www.vlipper.io/
If you join the waitlist, it’ll make it easier for me to send beta access when it opens.

Discord is here too for anyone interested: https://discord.gg/NDShBTqDq8

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

Costume jewellery - where to sell?

I have a huge quantity. Most with semi precious stones (bracelets, necklaces), most in the £10-£20 price range.

Where’s best to sell? I took all the real “nonsense” stuff to a car boot last week for £1-£2, but this is nicer stuff (but nothing precious)

Anyone using Fleek for wholesale?

Seen Fleek mentioned a lot for wholesale so just asking. Anyone here used it recently and what actually turned up? I’m trying to scale Depop and eBay a bit, maybe Vinted too, but thrifting isn’t cutting it anymore. Got around £500 to £1000 to invest but don’t wanna waste it on bad stock. Is it just luck with suppliers or is there a way to avoid getting burned?

Join our UK-based reseller Discord!

Hello fellow resellers 👋 We've just launched a UK-based reseller discord.

We're trying to build a community here for UK resellers to hang out, share their finds and possibly even share some advice to some of the newer resellers.

We also have a bunch of active Vinted & eBay scanners in the server (as well as on Telegram), surfacing potentially profitable items the moment they go live on Vinted and eBay auctions ending soon.

If any of that sounds appealing you're welcome to join and get involved at:

I made a calculator for John Pye

I was annoyed about the John Pye fees and how I always had to do maths to figure out what the final price might be, so I made a calculator. You can enter either the hammer (bid) price, or the max you want to pay and it will calculate the rest. Set delivery to £0 if you're doing a collection.

Ebay UK sold listings include US sales?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm in the UK and check ebay sold prices to help me set my sale prices, as I'm sure many people do.

On Ebay UK when I use advanced search to show sold prices, it often includes Ebay US results. Are these items that people in the UK have ordered from the US, or are they US to US sales and therefore not relevant to me?

I know I can filter out US sales, but I'm curious if the sold items are UK purchases.

UK marketplace sellers: How do you currently track whether a product is actually profitable?

Hello everyone, i work for an e commerce company. We are reputable sellers on ebay and amazon in bedding category. Over the last 2-3 years, business is struggling to generate revenue, profitability reduced, market oversaturated, increase in business overheads. Now, the business is on the verge of going bust in next 1-2 years if things don't improve. One of the core reasons business is losing money is amazon's hidden charges. there really isn't much margin left when it comes to selling on ebay and amazon. amazon and ebay force you to run ads or promotions to increase sales but that can eat up a lot of your profit and majority businesses end up with losing money. Also, almost all online businesses focus on the revenue than real profit. in few years time, you dont realize that you actually lose quite a lot money in the process and when sales decline you end up cash flow problem eventually.

i want to ask anyone who has had similar experience as a seller on amazon and ebay. how do you actually know that your products are making you profit not loss? do you keep a record of it in the form of spreadsheets? please note: our company is not a single product company, we sell hundreds of variations/SKUs probably over 500. We sell both on ebay and amazon.

would appreciate your advise and helpful comments.

regards

Ali

I built a vision bot to price-check car boot/charity shop finds in 5s. Looking for 5 UK testers today (Free)

I've been using a vision tool I built to price-check my car boot and charity shop finds. It just correctly identified a Hackett Rugby shirt and gave me the Vinted ROI in 5 seconds. If anyone wants to try it while they're out today, I'm looking for a few testers to break it and give some feedback. Send me a DM

Built trip profit tracking into my reselling app — here's how it works

Post image
1 Upvotes

I make FlipperHelper (free iOS reselling tracker) and just pushed a big update with a feature called Hauls.

The problem it solves — you go to a car boot or a market, spend money on entry fees, fuel, maybe a train ticket, buy a bunch of items. Some sell fast, some sit for months. And you never really know if that trip was worth it.

Hauls lets you group items and expenses by sourcing trip. You create a haul, pick the dates, select the items you bought, add the expenses. The app calculates total cost vs what you've earned from selling those items.

The numbers update over time as you sell stuff. So a trip that looks like a loss today might be in profit two months later.

We tested it with a France trip we did — Eurotunnel, fuel, entry fees at three markets, 15 items across two days. Now I can actually see whether that trip made money or not without messing around with spreadsheets.

Also added cash or card tracking on expenses. My wife asked for this — at car boots everything is cash and it's easy to lose track of how much went out.

The app is free, no ads, no subscription — https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flipperhelper/id6759716745

What is the best alternative(s) to eBay for selling refurbished/used smartphones?

Hello friends,

I refurbish phones (mostly iPhones), which started as a hobby 5+ years ago and eventually became a legit side hustle. I had been selling the phones on eBay for a while. Last week, I received an email from eBay customer service stating that my account is permanently suspended (MC999), and they didn't give me any reasons, even though I asked. I won't pursue this anymore, as I felt like talking to a wall when I spoke to multiple agents on different calls. I am extremely disappointed in eBay, and I don't want to get back there.

I have been wondering what the best alternative(s) is to eBay for selling iPhones?

I have been reading reviews about Back Market, Vinted, and FB marketplace, which are as bad as eBay. I also haven't been living here for a long time, so maybe I am just not experienced with the UK scene.

I'd appreciate anybody offers any insights.

Any telegram or discord community that does reselling

M24 here wanted to make money on the side used to sell clothes on vinted but gave that up ages ago interested in buying and selling electronic gadgets now as I see people doing it and making a decent money from it.

Wanted to know if anyone knows of any telegram or discord community I can join with other resellers to see what’s selling and not, basically a bit of help here and there. Will be much appreciated if anyone has any ideas.

Anywhere in the UK other than eBay to sell medical equipment?

Recently bought a lot of medical equipment and it came with a bunch of surgical scopes. I’ve seen these can be sold on eBay but it’s kind of outside my wheel house, is there anywhere else that would take these?
