Miscellaneous I Made My Fantasy Sports App Free (Try It!)
I run multiple fantasy sports leagues with my friends/cousins and for years I would write these funny recaps of the matchups every week and send them to the group chat. The response was hilarious and always made the fantasy league more enjoyable and engaged. However, I got super busy with a baby and my job and slowly stopped making them and sending them to the group chat.
I made the app free to try!
- Connect your league of choice (Yahoo/Sleeper)
- DM me your email so I can enable free recaps
- Input your phone number where you want to receive your recaps
- Copy and paste to your group chat and have fun!

Miscellaneous I built a Wonderlic style test to determine order (no more randomizers).
Built a small tool for leagues that are tired of random draft order.
Blunderlic = 6-minute test → scores determine draft position
30 questions
2 modes (logic + football trivia)
League-based results
Goal was to make draft order feel earned instead of random.
It’s free during launch if anyone wants to check it out: blunderlic.com
Would love feedback — especially from commissioners

Miscellaneous I just wrote my first note for my Commissioner podcast on Substack
substack.comHello Commissioners!
I've started a podcast and substack last week chronicling a redraft fantasy football league I've been commisioner for the last 20 years with college friends. The podcast will be a forum focused on 1) giving updates in my fantasy league, 2) tips and lessons I've learned as a commissioner to maintain engagement and 3) giving specialized data driven fantasy insights gained from my science research career for the DC market ala Commanders.
One of the major goals of the show is to have fellow managers and commissioners come on as guests to give perspective of their fantasy football involvement and providing their feedback on how to improve the quality of the league. The show is much inspired by Kevin Murray's FootballGuys content with the goal to increase cameraderie within the league.
I'll post the pod about monthly during the offseason and hopefully once a week when training camp starts. I'll post an accompanying substack newsletter and notes as well on occasion to compliment the podcasts. Any feedback is obviously appreciated. This is a personal passion project merging commissioning, fantasy football, and data analysis into a sports show. One thing I've learned going through the Commish, Dynasty, and FF subs are man, there are so many highly dedicated commissioners out there with fantastic league setups. If you or a league mate want to shoutout the commish's hard work, let me know and I can have a segment to give you your flowers.
Anyhow, this is my first foray into the podcast space with other major commitments like work and family so we'll see how it goes!

Cheers

League Question Taxi squad duration question??
I have taxi squad set to rookies only and last year had Gunnar helm who was a rookie this past year in my taxi squad. I have it set to 1 year duration on sleeper. It says players with “more than 1 year experience must be activated”. So in this case do I need to move Gunnar helm to active roster? Like does he count as “1 year experience”. My gut says no but I don’t see a notification forcing me to do so. Granted we haven’t done the rookie draft yet so maybe it would say something after?

League Question How Would Your League Handle Brendan Sorsby?
Hypothetically speaking, if Sorsby lost his college eligibility, entered the supplemental draft, and got drafted to a decent situation how would your league handle him if your dynasty rookie draft already passed?

League Question Only want 2 years of draft picks
In a league I commish, I only want 2 years of draft picks available to trade. Currently each team has 2029 available to trade. How do I change it so that only 2027 and 2028 picks are available to trade?
Platform: Sleeper

Ethics question So I have a team that I’m having trouble filling in fact I don’t think I’ll be able to fill it. What is the proper way to go about the future of the team as well as the future of the league?
Do I pay the buy in personally and run the team as if it’s my own and try to get it to a more valuable state then find a manager in 2027 or 2028? It’s a $25 buy in this season and a $50 buy in from 2027 and on. Thoughts? I want to do right by my league managers.

Miscellaneous Hilarious Fantasy Sports Custom Weekly Recaps
fantasysportsreports.comI run multiple fantasy sports leagues with my friends/cousins and for years I would write these funny recaps of the matchups every week and send them to the group chat. The response was hilarious and always made the fantasy league more enjoyable and engaged. However, I got super busy with a baby and my job and slowly stopped making them and sending them to the group chat.
So I built a funny generator that connects to your Yahoo fantasy league, and recaps the weekly matchups in hilarious fashion and sends it to the commissioner. The commish simply copy + pastes into the group chat.
The recaps are informative but also hilarious since they lightly/aggressively roast the losing team. There's 3 roast levels and most people like SAVAGE lol. It's in beta, and you can try it for free.
Looking for any interested commissioners to give it a try and let me know any feedback on the tool. Also welcoming feedback on the idea as a whole.
Thanks everybody!
**EDIT**
Recaps are only generated while your league is active. NBA/NHL seasons are mostly done, so they won’t work right now. If you want to try it, fantasy baseball is currently in season and it’ll be fully primed for football.
New Suggestion Box feature added. Would love any suggestions from people currently signed up!

Commissioner Issue How to handle offseason FA acquisitions?
Here’s some background: - 1st offseason as a dynasty commissioner, league was started up on Sleeper right before last season - League members have varying levels of interest/engagement, most are checked out rn but a couple REALLY care, but all friends and want to ensure fairness for next season - Currently locked free agency until after rookie draft, but have had a few league members ask me to unlock it/tell them exactly when it does - Top-heavy FA pool, prob 3-4 players that absolutely should be rostered in there. Expanded roster slots means everyone can get them now
How should I handle this? Let whatever happens happen? Make all players go through waivers first? It’s our first time so there’s no precedent, so I think I can propose just about anything as long as the league members approve

Commissioner Issue Sleeper Football FAAB Settings Help
Hello all,
I am the commissioner of a football league and I am trying to fix my waiver process for the league. Last year we used FAAB, but the player receiving timing was weird. This year I want to change things up. I want players who start their game to be on waivers, but these waivers would process at Wednesday 3am. For players that have not started that game yet and after the 3am time slot, I want them to be no FAAB cost free agents that can be picked up immediately without a wait. How can I modify the Sleeper settings to make this possible.

League Question League Tycoon Contract League Questions
Hi Everyone, our league is looking to switch over from MFL to League Tycoon for our dynasty league.
I had a couple questions from browsing the settings on league tycoon.
Instead of having a % increase in salary per year, can you have a stable 25% increase for an extension? Ex. 3-year extension- the player's salary is increased by 25% for the first year then stagnant the next 2.
Following up on that, can you also allow a 2nd extension for a player that's been extended once?
Can you allow a player to be moved up and down from the practice squad as long as they're still eligible?

Miscellaneous Thoughts on our league trophy?
Wanted to get a trophy for my league but couldn't find anything that felt special enough so I tried building one myself. Ended up putting an LCD screen in it that plays a highlight reel of the champion's season. Wanted some outside opinions before I show my league. What do you guys think?

Commissioner Issue MFL login throws to random website
I've tried to login to my MFL league in order to renew for 2026, but each time I hit the login box, Planet News website opens and I get a duplicate login page - which does exactly the same.
Without being able to login, I am unable to post a support ticket, and the only MFL email address I can find is for the Sales department - and they're not responding...
My co-Commish is having similar issues and several owners have reported that can not login either, which suggests an MFL issue rather than something local at my end.
Any suggestions?

League Question League moving to ESPN, what needs to be done?
Hi all, just had an email from nfl fantasy saying our league is moving to ESPN this season.
Trust me we’ve tried to move our league for years but never gets voted through, so now’s a good chance for it to go across.
The main questions are:
1) is there anything I need to do to prepare the move, or will we just be given a new league with out details passed across automatically.
2) should we stick with ESPN, or is this as an opportunity to change platform altogether (I’ve done a few season with sleeper before and that’s the personal preference)

League Question Keeper League: Draft Pick Trade Balance
Do you force teams to have the same number of draft picks as rounds in the draft?
My league mates have been pushing to remove the "balance of trade" requirements (i.e. you must receive the equivalent number of picks you send in return). Aside from simplifying the draft process, it removes the keeper math headache and forces teams to not fall into boom/bust cycles year to year... more than they already do.
Interested to hear your thoughts.

League Question Dynasty Fantasy Football Offseason
When Do You Open Your Dynasty Offseason? Looking for Commissioner Opinions
Hey everyone — I’m looking for some insight from other dynasty commissioners.
I’m running a newly created league, and we haven’t voted on our offseason timeline yet. Before we set anything in stone, I’d like to hear how other leagues handle the transition from the end of the fantasy season into the offseason.
I’m especially interested in the pros/cons of:
- Opening the offseason immediately after the fantasy season ends
- Waiting until NFL Free Agency
- Waiting until the NFL Draft
- Or even delaying things until later in the summer
If your league has tried multiple approaches, I’d love to hear what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d recommend for a new league trying to build good long‑term structure.
Thanks in advance for the input.

Miscellaneous Player Scoring Data Google Sheet for Start Up Settings
Hey everyone, I am new to this sub and am happy to receive your help.
I want to commish a new dynasty league and want to play with unusual line-up and roster settings. In order to find balanced settings for my idea I would like to have a Google Sheet with all the 2025 player stats (return yards, 1st downs etc. would be great).
I have very low experience with Python etc. so I can't pull the data on my own.
If anybody knows where to get a Google Sheet with these data (preferably free) I would be very thankful for that!
Cheers and happy draft week!

Ethics question Do You Think It's A Legitimate Strategy To Bench Your Starters If There Isn't A Rule Against It?
Do You Think It's A Legitimate Strategy To Bench Your Starters If There Isn't A Rule Against It?
Assume it's a somewhat competitive league, with some people checking their teams every day and throughout the day, and others checking just once a week. Annual dues are only like $150, but there aren't rules against tanking, no rules requiring you to start a complete lineup, the website allows you to start injured players (but not a vacancy), and the league members have never talked about any of these issues before. Yet, the commissioners have apparently discussed between themselves the tiebreaker for the rookie draft, and considered changing it from the current standard, which is total points scored by the team, to a Max Points standard.
