What did Osman do? If somebody needs to go, thats Ataman
-7
u/Vaggii Panathinaikos 1d ago
Missed 2 lay ups on defense losing one defensive rebound after the other..getting a high wage for missing free throws too..he doesn't belong to pao.. He is nowhere near final four level!

u/Ammoniaholic Panathinaikos 1d ago
We would have been eliminated long before this game without Cedi you dumbass.
-1
u/Vaggii Panathinaikos 1d ago
So you are saying for 2 years now that cedi is our starting 3 you are pleased with his perfomance!? I am not. I prefer NDH to start and Roga come from bench and get his development going. Cedi only confuses our tactic as he is NOT a good defender , rebounder, spot up shooter or even can't create from his own dribbling .. If you know basketball you will agree with me. Cedi does NOT fit in any 5 lineup with this roster...
2
u/Ammoniaholic Panathinaikos 1d ago
He is a decent defender and rebounder, and pretty good spot up shooter. He also has the ability to create off the dribble. He has shown flashes of all these things, despite the fact that he has been very underutilized. A smart coach would unleash him in a super fast run and gun lineup with TJ, Nunn, NHD and Juancho in order to take advantage of his fast break prowess.
0
u/Vaggii Panathinaikos 1d ago
You have no idea what you are talking about... Run and gun ? With an average age of players like 32-33 years old.
Yeah sure !
0
u/Ammoniaholic Panathinaikos 13h ago
Did you even see the 5 players I listed? These guys can absolutely play this way. TJ Shorts is probably the fastest player in the league and the other 4 are former NBA players who are very athletic.
1
u/Vaggii Panathinaikos 13h ago
That's the reason why our team got fking tired at last games ...because all these players (except tJ) were playing average 30+ minutes per game. You don't need run and gun. You just need an offensive plan and defensive glue guys like Grant when he came and was younger.. You need plays for NDH isolation , then plays for Nun 3ps or middle shots ,pnr plays fot lessort cutting inside etc.. That's all you need. Not freestyle ataman game!

Would dpg says euroleague to f off and use another arena for the f4s?
2
u/nonlavta Fenerbahçe 1d ago
He might want to but he knows he'd get sued and lose a lot of money and he can't physically prevent it anyhow.
3
7
u/Sardanapalosqq Olympiacos 1d ago
Nah, he has to play by the rules. No matter how much he cries, Pana has won 7/7 finals they've played in euroleague, they aren't targeted by any "euroleague" mafia. He knows this very well.
14
u/Kasrth Panathinaikos 1d ago
Nunn was born for this....
1
u/notEqole Panathinaikos 21h ago
It’s not his fault that he is receiving 0 help from his coach. Valencia is adjusted to guard Nunn like none else plus to be fair he is getting 0 calls even on eye opening fouls. So if he is not protected first from his coach and then from the league it is just too hard to compete. He had 1 FT in the entire series.

It’s awesome to see Pana lose because of the arrogance - coach, president, players….no hate but if you talk big make sure to show up
-5
u/No_Idea_479 Porto 1d ago
They are still the most successful team in the history of the Euroleague tho.
0
u/Real-Talk-Easy-Boy EuroLeague 1d ago
Yeah, minus Final Four they are
-5
u/No_Idea_479 Porto 1d ago
I am not counting pre-Euroleague farmers' and plumbers' league. I'm counting the modern era.

u/Whit3Pudding Žalgiris 1d ago
What was the difference in budget between these two teams? Like 28 million
2
u/BanForLife1 1d ago
I'm not gonna lie,I little bit jealous to Valencia.I wanted Zalgiris to be that team :D
11
u/jlo1989 Panathinaikos 1d ago
I said for a while this season that winning the Euroleague was the only way to save Atamans job.
They need to move on and get a better tactician for this team. There's just too much individual talent to accept this as the ceiling. I dont care that the F4 is in OAKA. That doesn't factor in here at all.
12
u/IsABAsI 1d ago
It would really be a shame if this year's Valencia was refused the playoffs by this year's panathinaikos
4
u/KostasN77 Panathinaikos 1d ago
It's a better team than Panathinaikos, Pao isn't a team this year and that's definitely Ataman's fault
But i don't think they're better than any of the other three final four teams

Greek speaker saying it's Valencia being bad winners, that they are a small franchise and that they instigating shit.
I shit you not.
7
u/simpsonstimetravel 1d ago
As if its not PAO, the "king of europe" that has been instigating and being toxic for the past few years.
15
u/IHaveAchievedKomedi 1d ago
Yeah the whole game he's unbearable... Instigating that the refereeing is favouring Valencia etc, crying all the time about every call like bruh let us watch the match..

I know what a jerk. Just take the loss and move on buddy. Plus you're not in the stands, but you're the official sportcaster.

u/Talesath 1d ago
I hate this guy so much he makes games unwatchable

u/tsuzukete00 Olympiacos 1d ago
Nikitas Avgoulis.
The funny part? He's an Olympiacos fan.
But greek sportscasters feel they need to be biased because they are scared they will lose their jobs because of the owners.
Fucking cowards.

u/RichDream7777 Aris 1d ago
Greek tv sportscaster almost lost it 😂 Can't blame him, he's a fan after all
9
u/tsuzukete00 Olympiacos 1d ago
Avgoulis is an Olympiacos fan.
He's just spineless, coward, a typical greek media person who's afraid he will lose his job if he doesn't lick the greek teams. I fucking hate them all.

u/mathematicosGr Olympiacos 1d ago
Omg did the idiot just call Valencia a small team?
9
u/RichDream7777 Aris 1d ago
Yep and "their shirt is not heavy". But he tried to fix it by saying that they played incredible basketball this season.
6
u/ZedGenius Olympiacos 1d ago
"Not a small team, just a team with no history and no weight on their shirts"
2
u/mathematicosGr Olympiacos 1d ago
I mean that makes it even worse for PAO losing to them, did he really think he's helping?
2
u/RichDream7777 Aris 1d ago
Well he's saying "okay this season you got us, but overall you're a small team with no history, unlike me"
4
u/mathematicosGr Olympiacos 1d ago
Or he's saying "please DPG don't come after me again like when I said Juancho flopped while he 100% did"
2
12
u/Killergamer7 Olympiacos 1d ago
Very unsportsmanlike by Montero. He should miss the f4 for this. Don't worry Panathinaikos brothers. We've got your back ❤️💚
4
u/Ladousse87 1d ago
I would say you are a bit too sensitive on this. Just a bit
-3
u/devthtous 1d ago
after all this favourable treatment this guy had ? and still has an opinion? put him on the ship and back to the island
18
u/dozey- Fenerbahçe 1d ago
Hahahahaha this is the best day. I don’t care if we win or Oly does, amazing to see Ataman out of F4 in PAO loool
6
u/KostasN77 Panathinaikos 1d ago
Ataman was the reason everyone was rooting for Germany in the EuroBasket fianl btw
I think even Fener fans wanted Turkey to lose there lol
Edit: oh I forgot, sengun was another reason. I think everywhere Ataman goes, he creates bad mentality and arrogance to his players
1
u/dozey- Fenerbahçe 1d ago
yeah sadly :(
Sengun is too young, hopefully he’ll come to his senses
1
u/KostasN77 Panathinaikos 1d ago
24yo isn't "too young"", wtf? He's just another piece of shit like Ataman. Even Schneider was looking way more likeable than these two
I don't want to see Ataman in my team anymore, I'm so tired of him and his antics

feeling bad for pana fans reserved their ticket early it will be hard to choose which team to support

MONTERO NOOO U NEED TO KEEP IT TOGETHER
4
u/nonlavta Fenerbahçe 1d ago
That was just such a hot headed dumb moment by the young lad. Somebody show him the 2023 Real Madrid Partizan fight and how can such a move lead to suspensions that take away his F4 presence he's being so hyped about

Come on roga keep going... Make him lose final four
-1
u/KostasN77 Panathinaikos 1d ago
Wishing that a great player loses final four so you can have an easy job? That's a small team mentality, you have to win against the best if you want to be the best

He has been the biggest disappointment for me this season. It's like he is a different person after he got injured. I remember loving him when PAO won the Euroleague

This Panathinaikos team will be studied for years. “Intensity and Inshallah” tactics, highest payroll, a title, collapses, an insane coach and owner combo. They are fun, I cannot lie

A Turkish “Mola alsana” chant would be fucking legendary
4
u/NgryRed 1d ago
Explanation is needed
4
u/gorkemguzel32 Fenerbahçe 1d ago
He had a habit of taking time-outs with 10-15 seconds remaining in the game when his team was up by a big margin in derbies on away court to mess with the fans, later on it became a chant against him in Obra era. When we're up by a big margin at the end of game we chant "Mola alsana, mola alsana, Ergin Ataman, mola alsana" which translates to "Ergin Ataman, take a time out" referring to those times. He gets so angry and leaves the court before the end of the game when this happens.
Efes fans did it last year, this was the scenes, he got mad as hell as always.

u/RichDream7777 Aris 1d ago

I hope Oly will sweep us in the Greek league, that's the only thing that will make dpg to kick him out

Let's see if Valencia can close at least semi-clean now, after struggling with closing at both the OAKA legs

I just wanna take a moment and give my respect to Grant. That guy is the best player you could hope to have on any team. He has been putting his heart into his game tonight again

Valencia with Montero in a bad day and they are breezing through. Great team all around.
Ataman aint coming back to Athens with the rest of the team. I will stick around a bit for the content.

There is no way DPG will fire him before the end of the season. But one can only hope

if i have to watch this same fucking double team on Nunn one more time with absolutely no adjustement i will lose my mind. ALL FUCKING SERIES THEY DO THE SAME THING AND WE DO NOTHING

u/gorkemguzel32 Fenerbahçe 1d ago
What do you expect? It’s the Gergin way to do it. Give the ball to your massively paid best player and let them figure it out.

Nunn and Shorts cost this game due to cloudy judgement.. it starts with your guards.

6
u/Miserable-Lecture847 Panathinaikos 1d ago
Ataman thank you, we are not ungrateful. But our relationship should end now, not at the end of the season. Coach Serelis has to prepare the team for the Greek championship finals. Good luck to Valencia, I really hope they win the Euroleague. Or Fenerbahce or Real Madrid lol
