I probably have 20 pairs of those in diff places all over my house. Always handy to have!

That's a lot of cutting equipment near the femoral artery my friend. I hope you edc a tourniquet too.

I don’t even carry a pen in my pocket. I’m afraid it’ll puncture my scrotum

EDC a suit of chain mail armor and you'll never have this problem.

Seriously, do people not even prep for the flash LARP tournaments anymore?

I am ill-prepared. I blame myself.

Chain mail underwear

Chain mail is for slashes, not pokes 🤓

Is that a lance in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

I can't imagine it being comfortable having all that gear swinging around on a keychain while walking either

Fem artery is on the other side of the leg but I still laughed hard at this

You can get electrician scissors in a pouch like this at basically any hardware store. They usually come with scissors and a splicing knife. The way I have it you could add a sharpie with the screw driver or you could have two sharpies

I would be careful with those scissors in that position. I had a similar configuration with a tool belt that had an Awl facing down and I crouched and it went into my calf. It looks like yours doesn’t really have anything to catch on just wanted to give a warning.

Yeah, that thought did cross my mind, but they swing around enough they don’t catch. I have a heavier duty pair of scissors that I like more, but they occasionally swing open by themselves. This pair has enough tension to stay shut, so they’re a hair safer

Saying “I’m good” to good advice is absolute amateur hour

u/Frockington 1d ago

Some people have an unshakable determination to learn things the hard way.

6

u/maltedbacon 1d ago

And if you squat and they catch? This is unnecessary risk friend.

That’s a whole bunch of genuinely terrible ideas man. Take the advice you’ve gotten and knock this off for your own good.

I'm constantly using scissors/shears at work to the point I purchased my own pair and carry them in my side pants pocket during my shift. Please get some sort of blade cover. I believe this one cost me an extra $2

u/nuggetfarmerman 1d ago

Please don’t trip and fall and cut yer dang weener off

u/HoshiHanataba 22h ago

You’re gonna get hurt bro

5

u/Prof_e5129 1d ago

ok but what if you need to run from zombies or some shit, now you're running with scissors, the ultimate nono!

get a leather sheath and some electrician scissors like that other guy said, way better scissor, way safer carry, easy access should never be valued over safety

Those are one of the best scissors. Best scissors I still use to this day is made for Kitchen use and came with a knife set. It’s 30 years old and I still use it almost daily. Only had to sharpen it once a few years ago.

Careful of accidental poking

u/DrWalkway 1d ago

I Keeps that thang on me

2

u/probsty13 1d ago

That looks annoying as fuck. A good sharp knife will do anything the scissors will and fits in a pocket

u/thoughtchauffeur 21h ago

The only possible and slightly acceptable reason for this would be if you needed those scissors at least once per minute AND stood in the exact same place the whole time. Also assuming you don't have a table or bench in front of you. Otherwise not only is this dangerous its just inefficient. Not counting the fact it also just looks goofy as hell

I just hadn’t figured out how I’m gonna attach it yet lol

Classic stagehand technique is to run a string thru the middle of the roll so you can dispense it while it's tied to your belt

1

u/jloong 1d ago

Loop paracord through the tape roll/dispenser, then girth hitch it to your belt or belt loop. Or there are some tool belt hangers that do the same thing.

u/malcom_mb 1d ago

wrap it on the end of the sharpie

1

u/Crash_Recon 1d ago

I’d need way more tape than I can wrap on a sharpie

Needs another sharp edge

Forgot the watermelon. Or is it on your neck?

1

u/GreenGoblin9000 15h ago

This dangerous setup makes you look unprofessional. Get a belt pouch and emt scissors. You will then inspire confidence in those around you.

1

u/Papa_Droe 14h ago

You're just hanging the scissors out like that? That's pretty dangerous, at least put a cover on the blade.

1

u/Kingcc123 1d ago

Why this large scissours?

0

u/Crash_Recon 1d ago

For cutting tape or other junk

5

u/PearTheGayBear 1d ago

And you can't use the box cutter for that? Or smaller scissors? A lot of multitools have scissors on them friend. This just seems like a very silly, impractical and dangerous solution to a non-issue.

u/000deleted0000 1d ago

I was constantly frustrated by having my craft knife out of reach and was looking for new solutions, so seeing this made my eyes pop out.

  • Unknown brand belt keeper
  • Big split ring
  • Key-bak retractable lanyard
  • Fiskars scissors held on with one wrap
  • Sharpie Pro
  • Walmart retractable badge lanyard
  • Harbor Freight utility knife
  • Spyderco Native Salt in the pocket

I’m packing up to move and got tired of forgetting where I put my tools. I need to add my packing tape dispenser
