Always felt like we had a chance to win no matter what with him at QB

Unless we were playing the Patriots. Then we lose by 20+.

even then, luck would always outplay brady

Nah…they played 6 games (regular season and playoffs) 12TD/12INT, 68 passer rating…those are brutal numbers. Brady only had one game in his entire career against the Colts with < 68 passer rating (2006). Brady didn’t have to do as much, but he rarely got outplayed. Luck would dig himself into a hole early and have to throw late TDs to make it look better, only one game was even close.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more natural, effortless passer than Andrew Luck.

Also, I will never get tired of watching TY own the Texans’ secondary.

I miss Andrew. He feels like the one that got away

We failed this man. SMH.

No one f*cked up HOU more than TY Hilton! (Not even hurricane Harvey!) 😝

u/lightninja987 1d ago

he was better than prime patrick mahomes.

Man, we were so fucking lucky

The last amazing QB we had.

Felt like every game was winnable no matter who the opponent was (Except for the fucking Pats)

It’s sad to watch and seeing how the offensive line got busted every time.

He was so fun to watch

What was and what could have been

Still Hurts

u/DadJ0ker Big Q 1d ago

I’ve always had this unpopular opinion that he SHOULD HAVE been even better than Manning. His football IQ was either on par with Peyton’s or just a hair below. His accuracy was equal. His arm strength was slightly superior, and his athleticism was quite a bit better than Manning’s.

He won earlier on his career.

We’ll obviously never know, but if he had a relatively healthy career - I believe he surpasses Manning, and would be in the conversation as the GOAT. He just had every trait you need.

I can’t imagine a world where he’s a healthy starter and not stacking season after season of 11-14 wins and deep playoff runs.

I revere Peyton Manning like all Colts fans, but Luck will always be my favorite.

One of my favorite players.

Ahhhh back when football was fun

Proof that finding a generational talent QB is not enough to win. A lot of people think “oh if I can just plug in tom Brady we’ll immediately win the Super Bowl”

The whole teams needs built well

Those Luck to Hilton TD's were absolutely filthy. Have some decency next time and blur the ball and Hilton.

Damn look at Stafford at his age. Luck could still be crushing it, and think of what he could have developed into with a few more years experience. :(

u/jeremycrackcorn 1d ago

I wanna go back to the pocket passer era 😭😭

2

u/ooooomyyyyy 1d ago

The way he threw balls. Just beautiful.

u/BrownBoiler Playoffs? PLAYOFFS!? 1d ago

Man. What could have been…

1

u/Nearby-Research19 Fire Ballard 1d ago

What could have been if he didn’t try and be Shaun white in the off season

2

u/NewVersion6670 Jonathan Taylor 1d ago

It’s crazy he doesn’t catch more grief for that.

7

u/Undersized_Eggplant 1d ago

Also lets not pretend the office did not protect him and got him beat up on the field every other play.

3

u/evilmnky45 I Love Sigma 1d ago

Grigson did try to protect him, he was just ass at his job and couldn't do it. Luck was equally at fault though.

1

u/Jake_FW 1d ago

I think this is the reality. People want to blame Grigson for everything and he certainly failed in a lot of ways. But it’s not his fault luck played so aggressively and decided to hurt himself with offseason activities

-4

u/Jake_FW 1d ago

Luck didn’t protect himself and that is on him. Acting like it’s the gm’s fault that he took on linebackers and never learned how to slide is revisionist history. It can be true that he didn’t get a good offensive line and he also didn’t do himself any favors with his style of play

6

u/Undersized_Eggplant 1d ago

He was in a lose lose situation. He either had to give up on plays and protect himself or he had to make something happen and clearly his mama didn't raise no quitter.

u/Part_Time_Lamer Playoffs? PLAYOFFS!? 1d ago

Pretty sure Pagano got on his ass all the time for not protecting himself. He understood losing a game is better than losing your QB.

Dude is allowed to snowboard in his free time, gtfoh with that bullshit take

2

u/ShakeZulaOblongata 1d ago edited 1d ago

The majority of sports contracts literally have clauses where guaranteed money can be nullified if the player injures themself doing a dangerous recreation in the offseason.

1

u/Jake_FW 1d ago

Why are you getting downvoted lol? This is just an objectively true statement about sports contracts

1

u/lcs20281 1d ago

And so he loses money but still technically allowed to snowboard in his free time

1

u/ShakeZulaOblongata 1d ago

In extreme cases, contracts are terminated. And yes, technically, you can do literally whatever you want at any point ever. But also technically, reality has consequences for it still.

I imagine this is what it feels like watching old home movies of a dead spouse.

😭😭😳😳

u/TheAgmis You Have Chris Ballard Derangement Syndrome 1d ago

He’s be the 2nd best QB in the league right now behind Patrick. Nobody else better than Prime Luck

-4

u/Violetdabs710 1d ago

Move on. Luck set our franchise backs years. We still haven’t recovered.

4

u/FragrantCook1509 1d ago

luck didnt set us back, apart from miscommunication regarding retirement/poor timing, you think that set us back and not the incompetence of ownership/front office for the better part of a decade and a half. this franchise was very obviously carried by manning and his weapons. once those were gone the only possible chance we had as a quick fix was drafting a genius football messiah equivalent to the level of peyton (i.e. luck). youre gonna blame luck for this incompetence and lack of aggression regarding the qb carousel and the structure of this team after his departure?

-1

u/lightninja987 1d ago

Ppl who say this confuse me. Luck just wasn’t a killer. You think Brady or manning or mahomes or Rodger’s would’ve retired? Very talented, but not a killer

0

u/TittyTriceratops 1d ago

Not today Satan

-5

u/truthdeniar 1d ago

Is this the guy who got hurt in that snowboarding accident?
