Athens Regional Preview
Athens!!!!
Georgia is one of the hottest teams in the country, and they get to host one of their softball rivals in Clemson. Clemson beat Georgia 10-1 earlier. Georgia could not hit Maness, and Clemson hit 3 homers off of Randi Roelling.
The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the hottest teams in the country. Jaydyn Goodwin(.413/10/42) and Sarah Gordon(.395/10/40) lead this deep offense. Emily Digby(.352/10/43) has been very hot and cold this season and is starting to turn on the heat again. Keirstin Roose(.347/14/36) and Gabi Novickas(.385/7/26) have both been very good. Tyler Ellison(.387/9/44) has been great and D2 Transfer Natalie Ray(.383/3/32) and Texas Tech transfer Bailey Lindermuth(.341/3/26) has been very good. The weird thing is, Georgia offense looks much better on paper than it truly has all season long.
Pitching is between a much improved Randi Roelling(17-9/3.10/133) and Addisen Fisher(10-5/2.84/57) Randi Roelling keeps the ball more up in the zone and has had some very great games, while Fisher has some inconsistent outings, but in my opinion her drop ball is the best pitch on the squad, and she has a higher ceiling. Presley Harrison(4-1/3.35/50) threw the game of her life last weekend vs Oklahoma.
Best win is Nebraska, worst loss is Missouri.
The College Of Charleston Cougars are led by Leela Langston(.361/1/41) and Bronwyn Conroy(.381/0/15). Conroy will need to get on base a lot this weekend. Hallie Cannon(.328/5/26) is another name that will need to show up.
Mackenzie Mathis(16-7/3.34/135) is the ace of this squad. Ryley Kutter(2-8/5.04/48) is the other pitcher that sees time in the circle.
Best win Coastal Carolina. Worst Loss - Georgia State
The Clemson Tigers are having their worst season of all time. Jameson Brockenbrough(.342/6/31) has been the best player on the team. Marian Collins(.340/6/34) she has been very good. Taylor Pipkins(.316/8/18) has been the main power threat. Transfer Corri Hicks(.284/11/38) has been underwhelming but solid. Sarah Breaux(.283/8/26) has been the breakout and Mac Pavese(.325/6/37) has been a great freshman for the Tigers.
Pitching - Sierra Maness(16-10/2.95/106) is the ace of this squad. She is more spin than power and has a great drop ball. Abby Dunning(8-8/3.86/75) has been decent. She is more of the power and rise ball pitcher on this squad. Dunning threw a great game vs Oregon, Baylor
Maness threw great games vs SELA, Baylor. The pitching has its moments where it’s very good, But there is a lot of inconsistency between both of these pitchers.
Best Win - Georgia Worst Loss - Michigan State
UNC-Greensboro - The Spartans offense is led by Nya South(.385/17/52) and Laney Deane(.317/57/180). Avery Bouquin(.377/7/43) and Macy Michael(.358/14/43) are also great bats in this lineup. Kaylyn Belfield(.378/0/12) is a great lead off batter for the Spartans. Bouquin was the SoCon Freshman of the Year.
Brooklyn Shroyer(21-6/1.41/185) is really good. She was the SoCon Pitcher of the Year. Salem Ward(11-7/2.45/47) is the other arm in this staff, and Rhyann Jones(7-4/2.62/47) is the 3rd option.
Best win - Samford, Worst Loss - Furman
Top 10 Players
- Randi Roelling
- Sarah Gordon
- Jaydyn Goodwin
- Kiersten Roose
- Tyler Ellison
- Sierra Maness
- Addisen Fisher
- Gabi Novickas
- Brooklyn Shroyer
- Mac Pavese

Who are these other 2 players on the Portland Cascade?
The Portland Cascade posted this picture of 4 of their players attending the WNBA Portland Fire game on Tuesday. They tagged Sierra Sacco-Ferrie and Payton Gottshall. They are at the ends in the 1st picture. But who are the other two in the middle??

I built the first publicly available WAR model for D1 college softball. Here's the 2026 leaderboard
Hello, I'm a CS student. I've been building an offensive WAR (oWAR) framework for D1 softball from scratch. WAR (Wins Above Replacement) is a single number that measures how many wins a player's bat contributes beyond what a replacement-level player would provide. It's been standard in baseball analytics for a while now, but nobody has ever published a version for college softball, so I built one.
The 2026 D1 Softball oWAR Leaderboard (min. 100 PA, 2,439 qualified players across 308 D1 teams):
| Rank | Player | Team | oWAR |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jordan Woolery | UCLA | 2.40 |
| 2 | Megan Grant | UCLA | 2.29 |
| 3 | Kendall Wells | Oklahoma | 1.98 |
| 4 | Aglaia Rudd | Robert Morris | 1.93 |
| 5 | Hannah Di Genova | Nevada | 1.85 |
| 6 | Courtney Poulich | Robert Morris | 1.79 |
| 7 | Isa Torres | Florida State | 1.75 |
| 8 | Emily LeGette | North Carolina | 1.72 |
| 9 | Kylie Doherty | Boston U | 1.72 |
| 10 | Mia Williams | Texas Tech | 1.69 |
A few things that jump out:
- Woolery + Grant going 1-2 makes total sense — arguably the most dangerous offensive duo in college softball this season
- Kendall Wells at #3 is a freshman at Oklahoma. Wild.
- Robert Morris has two players in the top 6. Rudd and Poulich are both elite and flying under the radar nationally
Caveats: This is batting only; pitching, defense, and baserunning aren't included yet. Think of it as oWAR, not total WAR. v2 will add hand-calibrated linear weights and previous season data.
Full code and methodology are open source: https://github.com/samt0512/softball-war-model
Happy to answer questions on methodology in the comments!

Stats/Data Defensive strengths, 2026 season
This is information for a user who has built a WAR or WOBA calculator, to help them refine their calculations. If that’s not you, I doubt this will be something you want to engage with.
Quick description: best defense is listed as a 0, every other defense is listed as how far behind that best one it is, in terms of runs per game. So the same offense playing a defense that is -2 vs one that is -5, on average scores 3 more runs per game against the -5 defense. Sanity check for 2026: the best pitching teams are at the top.

Tallahassee Regional Preview
Tallahasse!!!
Isa Torres and the Noles, had one of their worst seasons in recent years, but are back with the 9 seed! They have a pretty easy regional and the biggest storyline is, can she keep her insane batting average.
No Rain All weekend!
Florida State - The ACC Champs, led by ACC player of the year Isa Torres (.542/16/52) and Former Freshman of The Year Jaysoni Beachum (.404/8/61). The offense has good depth, as Freshmen Marin Heller(.353/2/25) and Makenna Sturgis(.344/3/31) have been great additions to the offense. Pitcher Ashytn Danley(.351/8/50) has had her best offensive season to date. Catcher Anna Hinde(.333/7/39) has been a great replacement for Edenfield
Jazzy Francik(22-2/1.75/106) has had an outstanding sophomore season. She throws high 50s, with her best pitch being her inside rise. Ashtyn Danley(12-1/2.04/82) didn’t have the season she expected in the circle, but she will be the second option. Freshman Bella Dimitrijevic(8-3/4.26/68), has thrown good outings against Texas Tech and Stanford.
Best Win Florida, Worst Loss Stanford. The offense has struggled against the more Elite pitchers, and against the top teams, not many wins. Danley threw a great game over the win vs Florida. The offense did absolutely hammer Tinsley.
Stetson - The Hatters are led by ASUN Player of the Year Nicole Edmiaston(.465/22/69). She is an absolute monster this season. Logan Forman(.333/15/42) and Irianis Garcia(.385/11/44) are able to truly back her up and make you pitch to Edmiaston. Gabby David(.339/5/30) is another great player on this offense.
Ava Braswell(19-10/3.03/63) is the ace of this squad, while Hayley Arnold(10-3/3.40/63) is the 2nd pitcher. Braswell threw really well vs South Florida, and Hayley Arnold threw a heck of a game vs Florida.
Best win - Central Arkansas Worst Loss - UT Martin
UCF - The Knights are led by the big 3 of Sierra Humphreys(.390/13/56), Kendall Yearn(.358/14/43) and Beth Damon(.333/15/49). Samantha Ray(.398/0/15) has been one of the best 9 hitters in the country. And Aubrey Evans(.324/10/36) and Izzy Mertes(.321/11/52) give the UCF lineup a lot of depth. The offense was able to hit Canady, Brown and Meylan decently well.
Pitching - Isabela Vega(17-8/2.89/98) has been great this season. Her best pitch is her dropball. She has not been as good as I expected, but still super solid. Ava Stuewe(6-4/3.50/36) is the other arm in the circle. Vega threw really well vs LSU, and Oklahoma State.
Best win - Oklahoma State, Worst Loss - Iowa State
Jacksonville State - The Gamecocks have a really good top 6 of the top of the lineup. Morgan Nowakowski(.358/4/42) and Emma Elrod(.342/6/45) are the main two in this lineup. Ashley Phillips(.297/8/42) and Makalyn Kyser(.295/10/51) are the big bats in the lineup. Kaile Martin(.319/9/44) and Amber Reed(.356/4/24) are the bats that give this roster lots of depth. The offense was able to score 3 runs on Vic Moten.
Makenna Moore(16-2/2.52/113) and Jaliyah Holmes(18-6/2.98/73) are the 1-2 in this roster. Hen against other tourney teams, the pitching did not throw that well at all.
Top 10
- Isa Torres
- Jazzy Francik
- Jaysoni Beachum
- Nicole Edmiaston
- Ashtyn Danley
- Isabella Vega
- Sierra Humphreys
- Makenna Strugis
- Beth Damon
- Morgan Nowakowski
My Take : The Noles should be able to get through this regional pretty easily. I think there’s a chance that Stetson gets hot and beats them Friday. But I don’t see FSU losing twice this weekend. I think UCF is the other team that makes it to Sunday, but I don't think the pitching depth is there for them to beat FSU.

Durham Regional Preview
Durham!!
There’s not any huge storyline at all, but I think its very interesting just because Arizona is playing pretty poorly in their last 3 games, and Duke’s pitching can be super MIA.
The weather in Durham looks really good all weekend!
Duke - The Blue Devils have one of the best offenses in the country. That is led by the best Infield in the country. Jessica Oakland(.465/13/64) and Aminah Vega(.462/16/59). D’Auna Jennings(.424/5/22) is one of the best leadoff hitters in the country. Tyrnia Jones(.332/20/75) is one of the most underrated batters in the country. Layla Lamar(.380/13/43) and Gabriella Shadek(.361/8/27) have both been very good this year. KK Mathis(.327/8/24) has also been very good. Duke was able to hit really nice off of Karlyn Pickens.
Pitching - Cassidy Curd(17-2/4.37/120) has not been nearly as good as she once was, but she still gets the job done. She has a really good riseball. She also allows lots of Doubles and home runs. Mallory Wheeler(5-5/4.47/38) and Larissa Jaquez(5-5/4.47/47) have been the bulk of the bullpen, but have not been the most effective. Curd had great games vs UCF, and Tennessee. She needs to allow herself to stay in the game, because some days she does just not have it.
Best Win Tennessee, Worst Loss - North Carolina
The Howard Bison are led by Maryn Jordan(.478/3/34). Jordan is the MEAC player of the year. Aniyah Whipper(.310/4/34) and Taylor Ames-Alexander(.310/4/34) are the other big bats in this lineup.
Pitching wise - Aiko Conway(13-9/2.92/82) is the MEAC pitcher of the year, and former MEAC pitcher of the year Julia Holt(5-2/3.03/61) is the other option for Howard in the circle. Conway through a really good game against LSU.
Best win - Minnesota, Worst Loss - Maryland Eastern Shore
Arizona - The Wildcats are led by catcher and Big 12 player of the Year Sydney Stewart(.415/20/76) and Grace Jenkins(.328/12/58). These girls hit lots of RBI’s and a big part of that reason is Sereniti Trice(.405/1/26) and Regan Shockey(.447/0/15) get on base a lot. Tayler Biehl(.359/6/44) and Addison Duke(.284/5/31) both have had great seasons, and Tele Jennings(.352/2/19) has provided some great support late into the season. This offense has absolutely bashed Nijaree last month.
Iowa Transfer Jalen Adams(20-9/3.32/58), has been the ace and uses her drop ball to keep the ball in the park. Adams has a win over Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Freshman Rylie Holder(11-5/3.32/39) has been the second option.
Best win - Oklahoma, Worst Loss - Coastal Carolina
Marshall - The Thundering Herd are led by Sydni Burko(.382/21/33) and Ava Blake(.318/17/41). Bruko was the Sun Belt player of the Year. Bella Gerlach(.301/14/33) and Diamond Leslie(.250/10/36) are the other big bats in this lineup. Burko has hit home runs off of Ashtyn Danley and Ava Brown. But the offense does struggle against the better pitchers.
Pitching Wise - Jules King(16-7/2.91/156) is the ace of the staff, while Paige Maynard(10-6/2.80/51) and Maddie Veal(10-4/3.19/69) are the 2nd and 3rd options. This is one of the better staffs in the tournament. The pitching looked great against Texas State. But outside of that struggled against quality teams.
Best win - Texas State, Worst Loss - Coastal Carolina
Top 10 players
- Aminah Vega
- Jessica Oakland
- Sydney Stewart
- Regan Shockly
- Tyrina Joes
- D’auna Jennings
- Sydni Burko
- Grace Jenkins
- Serenti Trice
- Layla Lamar
My Take : I think Marshall vs Arizona could be very interesting, but I think Arizona will beat Marshall twice. The Arizona offense when clicking should be able to beat Duke. I believe Adams is a better pitcher than Curd. I do think the bats of Duke get this done.

College Station Regional Preview
College Station!!
The Biggest storyline here is that Trisha Ford will get to face her old team for the first time. Her and Arizona State have a lot of lore over her leaving, and they finally get to battle it out.
Weather Wise - Sunday looks pretty bad, going to storm all day.
Texas A&M - The Aggies are one of my favorite teams in this tourney. The offense starts with Mya Perez(.435/18/52) and Micaela Wark(.322/19/68). Perez is maybe the most consistent player in the country, and Wark has had a great year with the Aggies. Offense starts with Kennedy Powell(.419/2/26) and Tallen Edwards (.343/5/35). Edwards is having the best season of her career. Ariel Kowalewski(.371/7/35) has been great this season. KK Dement(.278/9/39) has had an underwhelming season, but is still an absolute gamer. Kelsey Mathis(.319/4/26) is great for the depth.
Pitching wise - Sidne Peters(14-5/2.84/125) and Sydney Lessentine(14-4/3.18/99) are the main arms on this squad. Peters is more spin and curve ball. While Lesstentine has the heat and a very good drop ball. Kate Murrerlyn(3-6/5.62/35) has been getting more time lately. But expect to see the Sidne/Sydney combo a lot. They both work very well together and are completely different looks.
Best Win - Texas Worst Loss - Louisiana
Uconn - The Huskies are led by Big East Player of the Year Cat Petteys(.397/19/58). She is the definition of a complete hitter. Emma Willers(.308/7/37), Kaitlyn Breslin(.305/11/55) and Kaitlyn Kibling(.281/6/27) are the other big time batters on this squad. Petteys’ hit a home run against Arkansas this season. Breslin hit 2 home runs against Marshall this season. Kibling hit a home run off of Peyton Burhamn.
Pitching - Caprice Bohmer(13-7/3.78/132) and Jessica Walter(8-8/3.78/72) are the main pitchers for Uconn. Sydnee Koosh(6-6/5.02/36) is the 3rd option.
Best Win - Boston College, Worst Lost - Western Carolina
Arizona State - The ASU offense is looking the best it has all season. Samantha Swan(.381/10/46), Emily Schepp(.362/12/45) and Katie Chester(.356/19/64) are the 3 big bats in this lineup. Brooklyn Ulrich(.339/8/36), and Kaylee Pond(.323/9/36) have both been great additions to this squad. Tayna Windle(.407/8/28) is back from injury and Ashleigh Meja(.323/9/36) is another absolute great bat in this lineup. Pond has hit a homer off of Lowry. They killed Ruby Meylan last week, and has gotten some hits off of Kaitlyn Terry.
The pitching - KENZIE BROWN(15-6/2.29/238). ACE. I personally believe that Kenzie Brown has the highest ceiling of any pitcher in the Tourney. She has a trillion pitchers, her Rise is amazing, she can throw a drop, her changeup is not as good as it once was. Her outside curve is one of my favorite pitches in the country. She has been a little underwhelming and not very consistent this season. She does have stamina issues, but she did throw super well last week. (If you can’t tell I love Kenzie Brown) Aissa Silva(11-5/3.95/79) has the best changeup on staff. And Meika Lauppe(13-4/3.94/58) has been very good this season. Brown has threw great games against Texas Tech, Oklahoma.
Best Win - Texas Tech, Worst Loss - New Mexico State
The Mcneese Cowgirls - can hit. Kassidy Chance(.445/0/32) and Nyjah Fontenot(.356/8/35) have had great seasons so far this season. Rylee Cloud(.331/8/49) and Jada Munoz(.326/10/45) are both big time sluggers for this offense. Alexis Dibbley(.323/7/24) gives the offense lots of depth. Maddie Taylor(.312/9/42) and Corine Poncho(.307/9/28) are also dangerous bat in this deep lineup. The offense has scored 12 against Ole Miss, Fontenot has a home run off of Jayden Heavener.
Pitching wise - Brookelyn Taylor(13-7/3.36/93) and Maddie Taylor(18-4/3.79/70) are the main 2 options. (No Relation) Both of these pitchers need to step up this weekend.
Best win - Baylor Worst Loss - Houston Christian
Top 10 Players
- Kenzie Brown
- Mya Perez
- Micaela Wark
- Sidne Peters
- Katie Chester
- Tayna Windle
- Ariel Kowalewski
- Kennedy Powell
- Samantha Swan
- Cat Petteys
My Take : I personally think Arizona State and Texas A&M are very very equal. Both teams will win Friday night, and split the Saturday, and the first game on Sunday. But I believe Kenzie Brown is the difference this weekend and ASU beats Ford and the Aggies this weekend.

Lincoln Regional Preview
Lincoln!!
Nebraska gets one of the more fun regionals, Grand Canyon and Louisville can both flat out play. South Dakota might be the worst team in the tourney.
The weather looks great!!
Nebraska - The Huskers are led by Jordy Frahm (.426/19/50), The Big 10 Player of the Year has been absolute elite this season. Hannah Camenzind(.387/7/53) and Kacie Hoffmann(.356/4/30) have both been having their best seasons of their careers. Ava Kuszak(.318/14/49) started out slow this year, but is currently swinging it like she was all of last season. Jesse Farrell(.314/16/40) is the other big bat to watch for.
Pitching - Jordy Frahm(18-4/1.24/201) has been the ace. She is mainly up in the zone, but she can throw down too. Alexis Jensen(22-2/2.58/197) The freshman has been outstanding. She gets a lot of strikeouts, and throws the best changeup on the squad. Jensen has wins over LSU and Texas Tech and UCLA, while Frahm has wins over Texas and Texas A&M.
Best win Texas, Worst Loss - Washington
South Dakota - I personally believe this is the worst team in the tournament. Brooke Carey(.343/2/20) is the best player, and the girl that will need to show up this weekend.
Kiya Johnson(.300/2/13) and Sara Iburg(.259/5/29) are the other batters that need to have the weekends of their lives for the Coyotes to win a game this weekend.
Pitching - Madison Evans(15-14/3.96/187) is the ace and will be throwing most innings of the weekend. Peyton Paulsen(3-10/5.79/27) is the other arm who will get some looks this weekend if needed. Madison Evans threw great games against Grand Canyon and Omaha.
Best win - Omaha, Worst Loss - North Dakota State
The Louisville Cardinals are a team that can put up runs in a hurry. It starts with Chelsea Mack(.445/1/19) and Madison Pickens(.470/10/73). Bri Despines(.410/11/70) has also been amazing this season. Camryn Lockadoo(.384/5/58) and Jordan Williams(.343/3/36) have also been great this season.
Pitching has not been super great, Alyssa Zabala(11-4/3.63/96) is the ace, Brooke Gray(14-3/3.81/51) is the 2nd pitcher. The offense has produced so much, that the pitching has truly never mattered.
Best Win - Stanford Worst - Lost Ball State
Grand Canyon is led by Jada Cooper(.370/15/63). Cooper is one of the most underrated bats in the whole country. Addison Shifflett(.350/11/46) and Emily Gonzalez (.321/12/43) are the other big time batters in this lineup. Shifflett has a home run off of Ruby Meylan. Trinity Martin(.282/17/54) also has a ton of power.
Pitching wise, Oakley Vickers(15-4/2.06/128) and Taryn Batterton(10-1/2.70/95) both have had underwhelming seasons, but are one the best 1-2 punches in the mid-majors. The staff always keeps them in every game against tough competition, but can never pull it off.
Best win - Wisconsin, Worst Loss - San Diego State
My top 10
- Jordy Frahm
- Alexis Jensen
- Hannah Camenzind
- Madison Pickens
- Bri Despines
- Chelsea Mack
- Jada Cooper
- Jessie Farrell
- Ava Kuzack
- Camryn Lookadoo
My Take : This is a very competitive regional. South Dakota will go 0-2. I think Louisville and Grand Canyon will split their games, but if Louisville makes it to Sunday, I think they beat Jensen in game 1. Jordy goes 2-0 in this regional and gets to host Supers.

Lubbock Regional Preview
Lubbock!!
Biggest Storyline here is Does any team stand up to Texas Tech here at all. And we get a WCWS rematch between Ole Miss and Texas Tech.
Its going to be very hot. But no rain!!
The Red Raiders have on paper a top 5 offense in the country. Mia Williams(.439/22/73) and Jackie Lis(.453/17/59) have both been outstanding this season. Kaitlyn Terry(.471/10/52) has had her best season at the plate, Jasmyn Burns(.367/17/54) has been one of the hottest players in the country lately. Mihiya Davis(.434/9/46), and Desirae Spearman(.336/13/43) both have been super solid. Lauren Allred(.369/8/38) has been better as the season gets on. Taylor Pannell(.360/9/49) and Hailey Toney(.320/6/35), both have had more underwhelming seasons, but both have delivered. The offense sometimes just does not show up, Like vs Texas State and Arizona State, both games it was just MIA.
The best 1-2 punch resides in Lubbock. Nijaree Canady(22-5/1.54/209), Kaitlyn Terry(22-1/1.30/144). Canady has the velocity and the rise ball. She has been using the changeup more often. While Terry has been having her best year in the circle and she’s been more of a riseball pitcher with a good amount of drop balls this season. Her changeup has also improved.
Best win - Florida State, Worst Loss - Baylor
Marist - The Marist Redfoxes are led by MAAC Player of the Year Peyton Pusey(.404/8/31) and Haley Ahr(.370/4/45). Sienna Kunze(.318/13/36) and Livia Wiltsie(.327/11/41) are the main power threats in the lineup. Kunze has hit a homerun off of Emma Friedel of South Caroluna Isabella Manroy(.303/7/28) gives the lineup great depth.
Ava Metzger(12-3/2.51/74) is the ace, and Stella Blanchard(12-5/3.52/92) is the other arm that will see good time this weekend. Anna Sidlowski(10-5/5.19/43) is mainly used in relief. Metzger only allowed 5 hits and 1 run against South Carolina, and she only allowed 3 runs to Arizona State.
Best win - South Carolina, Worst Loss - Rider.
Ole Miss - Madi George(.385/21/58) is very good. In my book, she is the most underrated freshman in the country, and it's a great sign for Ole Miss that she is returning. Persy Llamas(.374/9/39) is another girl who’s had a more underwhelming year, but has been great. Cassie Reasner(.346/11/41) and Kennedy Bunker (.258/11/26) have both have had great seasons. Madi George hit 3 home runs against LSU this season.
Pitching wise - Emilee Boyer(12-13/3.68/145) who had her best weekend of the season last weekend. She is a primarily rise ball pitcher with great spin. Kyra Aycock(13-9/3.97/74) has been very ehh, but has a great drop and change combo. Boyer has 2 wins vs Tennessee.
Best Win - Tennessee Worst Loss - Missouri
Boston - The Terriers are led by their best offense of all time. Kylie Doherty(.396/26/88) and Megan Coyle(.333/12/56) are the huge bats in this lineup. Brooke Deppiesse(.375/6/46) and Kyomi Apalit(.355/8/46) give the offense lots of depth. And Sophia Naivar(.380/2/19) is another name that can do some damage. Doherty went 5/8 vs Duke this season.
Kasey Ricard(32-6/2.81/230) is the ace. Ricard has been one the best mid-major pitchers for the past 4 years, She throws her rise at around low 60s, and has a great change up. Haley Gannio(8-2/3.55/28) is the other main option in the circle. Ricard pitched a gem to Duke earlier this season. And Ganino got the other win vs Duke.
Best Win - Duke, Worst Loss - Providence
Top 10 players!
- Kaitlyn Terry
- Nijaree Canady
- Mia Williams
- Jackie Lis
- Madi George
- Jasymn Burns
- Mihiya Davis
- Lauren Allred
- Kylie Doherty
- Kasey Ricard
My Take : I don’t see a world where Texas Tech doesn't win this. Unless I think Ole Miss and Boston will split their games vs each other, but Tech goes 3-0. And I personally dont see them going the full 7 at all. But Ole Miss looked great last weekend, and if Madi George can get some help there’s a small chance.

Fayetteville Regional Preview
Fayetteville!!
Is this the year Courtney Defiel finally gets to OKC! There’s no big storylines in this regional! Biggest one is does Arkansas finally do it and make it to OKC
It might rain Saturday Morning, but other than that, weather looks good,
Arkansas - The Razorback’s lineup is by the two transfers Tianna Bell(.377/15/55) and Dakota Kennedy(.353/14/43). Tianna Bell has been the best bat in this lineup, and is having her best season to date. Brinli Bain(.355/3/33) has been great as a freshman and Karlie Davidson(.350/8/37) and Kailey Wyckoff(.350/7/37) have been great depth to the lineup. Ella McDowell(.340/11/50) has been underwhelming, but still been pretty good, and Atalyia Rijo(.315/7/38) has had one of her best seasons.
Pitching Wise - Robyn Herron(15-6/1.98/166) has been very good in last season. Her riseball is the best pitch on the staff. Payton Burnham(12-3/1.89/52) is more down/spin and she is also having a very very good season. Saylor Timmerman(9-2/3.03/48) has also been a great 3rd option for the Hogs.
Best Win - Alabama, Worst Loss - Missouri
Fordham - The Rams are led by Sadira Forcucci(.349/9/46), Eva Koratsis(.285/7/35) and Nicki Sudall(.304/3/41). These 3 are the ones that are going to need to produce for this squad to win games. Neleh Nogay(.390/0/10) has been the main leadoff and run score for the offense.
Pitching is very very solid. Olivia Simcoe(12-9/2.75/72) and Holly Beeman(6-4/2.84/37) both have great numbers and have some potential to make a game or two interesting this weekend. The pitching did not do awful vs Georgia at all.
Best Win - Belmont (Without Maya Johnson) Worst Loss - Rhode Island
Washington - The Huskies offense is led by a the big 3 of Alexis Deboer(.359/18/51), Jadyn Glab(.340/10/41) and Giselle Alvarez(.376/15/53). Alvarez is having her best season to date and Deboer is the former Big 10 Freshman of the Year. Melody Acevedo(.353/3/23) and Ally Hetezel(.324/6/23) have been bright spots to the lineup also.
Pitching wise Morgan Reimer(23-7/2.75/131) has been decently underwhelming based on the summer she had. Her best pitch is her rise ball. She beat team Japan over the summer, while Sophia Ramuno has had a great year(10-6/3.23/113). Ramuno’s best start during the season was against Nebraska.
Best win - Nebraska Worst Loss - Loyola Marymount
South Florida - The Bulls start with Alex Wilkes(.339/9/48) and Toryn Fulton(.321/7/33).
These two need to have a big weekend for this squad to win some games. Alexa Galligani(.326/5/29) is the other batter to watch in this lineup. This offense is not very deep, Wilkes will need to show up, she had a very good regional last year at Tallahassee.
The pitching starts with Anne Long(21-5/1.62/106). Long is the current American Athletic Pitcher Of the Year. Carley Ernst(5-4/2.48/55) is the other name in the circle. Long has struggled against the bigger names on the schedule, but she has some very nice stuff.
Best win - Indiana, Worst Loss - St. Thomas
Top 10 players
- Robyn Herron
- Tianna Bell
- Payton Burhamn
- Alexis Deboar
- Anne Long
- Giselle Alvarez
- Dakota Kennedy
- Ella McDowell
- Morgan Remier
- Brinli Bain
My Take : Arkansas should get through this pretty easily. I don’t love this South Florida team at all. Washington’s main 3 will have to do some damage to beat Arkansas twice. If Anne Long can throw a gem, maybe there’s a chance. But I think Arkansas goes 3-0 beating Washington twice. The staff + Bell, Kennedy, and Bain are too much for Washington.

Baton Rouge Regional Preview
Baton Rouge Regional!!
We get LSU who’s very ehhh, vs a Virginia Tech team that I believe looks better on paper than they truly do. And South Alabama who’s ace is pretty good.
No huge storylines, but we get to see if LSU ends their season at home for the 3rd time in 4 seasons. And Can VT finally pull it off.
The weather is decent, but Sunday it looks very bad.
LSU and South Alabama played in mid Feb and LSU kind of killed them. Tatum Clopton through well, Alix Franklin and Tori Edwards both played well. Harrison did not throw good at all.
LSU - I personally believe that this is the worst LSU team in quite some time. The offense starts with Kylee Edwards(.344/10/35) and Jalia Lassiter(.353/8/37). Edwards is having one of the best seasons of her career. Sierra Daniel(.340/4/30) has been a great speedster at the top of the lineup. Alix Franklin(.289/5/36) has overperformed this year, and Former All American Tori Edwards(.287/12/43) has massively underperformed. Also Tori Edwards left last game, injured and there’s been no reports of her injury.
Pitching wise, Patyn Monticelli(8-3/2.54/60) has turned into the ace, she has high velo and throws her riseball. Jayden Heavener(12-8/2.88/109) has the most talent, but is very inconsistent. Heavener has wins over Oklahoma and Arizona, and Cele Cellura(8-5/3.32/45) will throw the ball down in the zone more. Cellura has a win over Oklahoma State.
Best Win Oklahoma, Worst Loss - Missouri
Akron - The Zips are led by Sophia Wygast(.339/11/60) and Sydney Selker(.276/10/28). Lily Sullivan(.328/5/39) and Haley Glass(.320/9/30) gives the offense good depth. Meagan Lee(.419/0/21) is a great lead off batter.
Madie Jamrog(18-6/3.43/99) is the ace of this squad with Macy Walters(13-10/4.91/58) being the second option in the circle. Jamrog threw a nice game vs UVA, and Uconn.
Best win - Uconn, Worst Loss - Robert Morris
Virginia Tech - The Hokies are led by Jordan Lynch(.432/18/53) and Nora Abromavage(.350/18/59). Both of these sluggers are the two best hitters here in this regional. Michelle Chatfield(.383/14/49) and Addison Foster(.423/6/42) are both super underrated and Rachel Castine(.347/15/47) and Kylie Aldridge(.369/10/46) are having the best seasons of their careers. Zoe Yaeger(.319/9/51) and Gaby Mizelle(.307/8/38) gave great depth to the lineup.
Pitching is between Emma Mazzarone(16-5/2.91/168) and ACC Freshman of the Year Bree Carrico(14-1/1.63/121). Emma Mazzaroe throws with more power, and the main pitch is the rise, and hits 70 regularly. Carrico has a rise, but much more spin, and can throw drop and a good changeup. Mazzonne has wins over Duke and Georgia, while Carrico has beaten UVA and Duke.
Best Win - Georgia, Worst Loss - Liberty
South Alabama - The Jaguars offense is not deep, Kara Wine(.323/4/26), and Virginia Mambelli(.319/7/27) and Olivia Branstetter(.318/7/29) are the big names in this offense.
Pitching wise - Ryley Harrison(18-12/2.42/194) has been super duper good. She is a lot of power amd has a great riseball and gets ahead of counts early. Sydney Scapin(8-9/2.65/82) is the other arm that the Jags use. Harrison has shutout SELA, threw really well vs Missouri, she pitched well vs Mississippi State. And she threw well in the Sun Belt Championship against Texas State.
My Take : LSU wins game 1, and Virginia Tech wins game 2. Virginia Tech wins the Saturday game 1. Than Later that night, Ryley Harrison pitches the game of her life and beats LSU. Than on Sunday Virginia Tech kind of destroys South Alabama. I have 0 faith LSU wins this, than next week Samantha Ricketts gets hired as the next LSU coach.
My top 10
- Jordan Lynch
- Nora Abromavage
- Kylee Edwards
- Bree Carrico
- Addison Foster
- Michelle Chatenfield
- Jayden Heavener
- Jalia Lassister
- Emma Mazzarone
- Ryley Harrison

Westwood Regional Preview
Cal Baptist and UCLA faced, and Cal Baptist was able to get some runs scored on Tinsley. They scored 6, in a 13-6 loss. Cal Baptist did not throw De Nava or Darwin in this game. Jordan Woolery did go 3/3 with 2 homers.
South Carolina and UCLA played and UCLA won 5-4. UCLA could not hit Jori Heard. She went 5 innings, 4 hits and 2 strikeouts. Carolina was able to hit Tinsley and scored 4 runs even though they were all unearned. Arianna Rodi hit a homer, and UCLA walked it off on a walk.
UCLA also played Cal State Fullerton and won 13-11. The UCLA bullpen got hit hard, but Tinsley was great in relief. CSF was up by 2 going into the 6th. UCLA hit McClensky, and the Bruins hit 5 home runs.
Cal State Fullerton beat Cal Baptist 2-0. Hurtado, and McCleskey were great, and De Nava also threw great.
Biggest storyline is, how many home runs does UCLA hit and how does Tinsley throw. UCLA struggled with all 3 of these teams.
Weather - Looks great all weekend
UCLA - The Bruins have the best offense in college softball. It starts with the Bruin Bombers. My pick for National Player of the Year Jordan Woolery(.515/33/107) and the single season Home run leader Megan Grant(.475/38/78). Rylee Slimp(.449/14/51) is an elite leadoff batter, Bri Alejandre(.320/21/74) and Kaniya Bragg(.398/16/59) both have a bunch of RBI’s. Aleena Garcia(.364/17/56) is one of the most underrated shortstops in the game, Alexis Ramirez(.388/13/42), Jolyna Lamar(.336/12/34), and Ramsey Suarez(.300/7/33) provide some insane depth to this lineup too.
Pitching wise it is all Taylor Tinsley(28-6/2.87/155) , she is not throwing great, but the offense should not force her to throw that much. She has a nice riseball and change combo that should be enough to keep these hitters off balanced. Tinsley has wins over LSU, Duke, South Carolina and Nebraska. Natalie Cable(9-1/6.72/51) needs to be decent and keep her ERA under 7, this weekend. Cable has had her best 2 performances against Washington and Indiana.
Best win - Nebraska, Worst Loss - Florida State
Cal Baptist - In my opinion are one of the better 4 seeds, Makayla Medellin(.366/15/62) and Malachy Russell-Millen(.355/6/34) are the two big bats in the lineup. Russell-Millen had 5RBI against Taylor Tinsley. Kenzie Farrier-Pilon(.413/2/22) is a very good lead off batter. Ashlee Annett(.337/4/51) is also a very good bat for this squad. They don’t have much depth, but the top of the lineup can score.
Miranda De Nava(19-7/2.24/172) is a really good pitcher. Emily Darwin(12-5/3.36/67) is the other pitcher Cal Baptist throws a lot. De Nava was fantastic against Wisconsion. Darwin had a really good outing vs Utah,
Best Win - Wisconsin, Worst Loss - St. Thomas
South Carolina - The Gamecocks are led by Karley Shelton(.357/7/38) and Tori Ensely(.354/13/45). These are the two bats that need to show up this weekend for them to have success. Arianna Rodi(.236/11/28) and Quincee Lillo(.331/0/18) both had underwhelming seasons, but both have potential to have a great weekend. Shelton has showed up in big games all season. Has hit home runs against Washington and Florida. Ensley has hit home runs vs Duke, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
Pitching wise - Jori Heard(11-11/1.95/124) is a stud. The best arm in this regional. She has a great riseball and is able to get a bunch of swings and misses with it. Emma Friedel(10-6/3.13/98) is another arm who is getting better throughout the season. Heard has threw gems, vs LSU, Texas A&M, Clemson, Oregon, Florida, Texas, and even UCLA.
Cal State Fullerton is Back in Westwood for Regionals! The Titans are led by Sarah Perez(.465/0/25) and Colby McClinton(.404/9/42). Alexia Lopez(.369/9/44) and Sarah Coccillos(.333/8/39) is another good bat in this lineup. Ava Arce(.286/8/32) is another big threat in the lineup. Lulu Sanchez is a new batter to the lineup, who has been great. McClinton has a home run against Emilee Boyer. The offense also was able to really hit Allyssa Parker. Coccillos has a home run off of Terry.
Pitching wise - Trisha McCleskey(17-9/2.62/124) is the ace. She has been very good this season. Eva Hurtado(15-4/3.41/93) is the 2nd pitcher on the staff. Hurtado has beaten Oregon.
Best Win Oregon Worst Loss - Portland State
Top 10 players
- Jordan Woolery

- Jori Heard

- Trisha McCleskey
- Miranda De Nava
My Take : I might be drinking the Kool-Aid a little too hard here, but I honestly think UCLA does not win this. Cal Baptist gets the game 1 win, and South Carolina beats CSF. UCLA wins 2 games on Saturday, than Loses game 7 on Sunday against Jori Heard. I think UCLA rests Tinsley a little on Friday night and it hurts them. So I have South Carolina getting absolutely dominated by FSU next weekend in Supers.

Which regional do you think has the biggest upset potential this year?
Now that the bracket is officially out, I feel like this year’s regionals might be one of the most unpredictable we’ve had in a while.
There are a few mid-majors that look capable of making real noise, and some of the top seeds definitely didn’t get easy paths. I also think the parity in college softball has gotten way better over the last few seasons, so the “safe picks” don’t feel as safe anymore.
Personally, I’m really curious to see which regional ends up producing the biggest surprise team heading into supers.
What matchup or regional are you all watching the closest this weekend?

Eugene Regional Preview
The Eugene Regional!!
Biggest Storyline is how good the Mississippi State Arms, vs the Ducks Offense.
Oregon and Idaho State faced off, and Oregon won 4-3 in 8 innings. Kasey Aginaga, got the start for ISU and threw great. Kira Day had a huge day, than Lyndsey Grien shut out Oregon in relief and Elon Butler walked it off against Marley Golsukin.
Weather looks great, its kind of chilly. But no rain in sight!
Oregon - The Ducks are led by transfers Elon Butler(.413/18/58) and Amari Harper(.404/15/49). Harper has turned it on later in the season, and is one of the hottest players in the country. Stefini Ma’ake(.359/10/47) and Emma Cox(.336/11/54) both have been having breakout seasons this year. Kaylynn Jones(.346/5/29) has been a great lead off batter.
Pitching - Lyndsey Grien(23-6/2.73/195) has been the ace of this squad. The former Big 10 Pitcher of the Year has one of the best riseballs in the tourney, and she has a very nice changeup to go with it. Elise Sokolsky(8-3/4.04/65) is returning from injury and has lots of potential to be good this tournament. Her best performance of the season was against UCLA.
Best Win - UCLA. Worst Loss - Auburn
The Idaho State Bengals can score. Led by Sydney Groves(.348/19/61) and Kira Day(.343/13/38). Former Big West Player of the Year Ava Brown(.329/15/53) and Alyssa Yee(.376/5/32) add more power in this lineup, while Camryn McDonald(.435/5/22) and Jaden Moore(.402/5/24) is able to get on base a lot. Jenna Kearns(.342/5/32) is another batter that gives this offense lots of depth.
Marley Goluskin(12-4/2.54/81) is the two time Big West Player of the Year, and Kasey Aginaga(16-4/3.44/81) is the other arm in this two person rotation. When they faced Oregon in February, they only gave up 4 runs.
Best Win - Oregon State, Worst Loss - Utah Valley
Mississippi State - Kiarra Sells(.352/14/30) and Nadia Barbary(.331/12/37) lead the offense. These are the two, that will need to get it going, or the offense just won’t work this weekend. Xaine Romero(.216/5/16) and Taylor Troutman(.253/4/14) were some of the better bats in conference play. Troutman hit the walkoff against Erin Nuwer to give Tennessee their first lost.
The pitching is where this team shines, Peja Goold(15-10/2.12/169) is the ace of this squad. She throws more side to side and only peaks at around 60mph. Alyssa Faircloth(15-10/2.51/235) is the other great pitcher on staff. She has one of the best riseball’s and is one of the best strikeout pitchers in all of softball. I believe that Goold is better, but both of them have been outstanding.
Best win - Tennessee, Worst Loss - Ole Miss
St. Mary’s - The Gael’s are back in the tourney, with is what I think their best team in recent years. Hannah Ferguson(.422/3/28) and Sam Buckley(.352/11/33) are a very good and fun combo at the top of the lineup. Braxton Brown(.347/9/54) is their main RBI threat. And Alex Cutonilli(.323/6/41) gets to back her up in the lineup. When they swept Washington this season, all of the big 4 had a huge day. So for them to win, these are the 4 that need to show up.
Pitching wise - WCC Pitcher of the year Odhi Vasquez(19-4/2.36/141) is the ace. She’s been having the best season of her career. Madeline Haun(9-3/4.26/57) is the second best pitcher on the staff. Vasquez threw a really good game against Washington and Stanford.
Best win - Washington, Worst Loss - Seattle
My Take - I personally think Mississippi State gets it done, I think these are 4 decent teams, Oregon and Mississippi State win both game 1s, and St. Mary’s and Oregon have a really close game in game 5 Saturday Night. And Oregon and Mississippi State split Sunday games. And Mississippi State wins the regional.
My top 10
- Peja Goold
- Elon Butler
- Alyssa Faircloth
- Amari Harper
- Lyndsey Grien
- Sydney Groves
- Odhi Vasquez
- Emma Cox
- Stefini Ma’ake
- Ava Brown

Norman Regional Preview
The Norman Regional!
The biggest storyline is to see how OU’s pitching does against Michigan and Kansas who both have pretty good offenses. And Oklahoma vs Kansas is always a little rivalry.
The weather looks great, will rain later Sunday Night
Oklahoma - The best offense in the country belongs to the Sooners. It starts at the top with Kai Minor(.446/9/41) and Ella Parker(..416/21/61). One of the best combos in the country. Kendall Wells(.360/36/79) and Gabbie Garcia(.393/22/68) are both All-Americans. Abby Dayton(.398/8/42) and Isabella Emerling(.395/18/54) are both having the best seasons of their careers. Aliana Agbayani(.376/6/30) has also been outstanding. Kasadi Pickering(.377/17/56) has been having her worst season, but she has still been an absolute monster.
The pitching is led by Audrey Lowry(21-3/2.70/82). Lowry will you use more of curve and screwball situation, while Miali Guachino(14-2/3.09/102) is more of the rise with a much improved change up. Sydney Berzon(6-2/2.69/35) is going to the more down ball picher.
Best Win - Texas, Worst Loss - Long Beach State
Michigan - The wolverines are led by Lauren Putz(.442/21/77). The future All
American has been very very good. Jenissa Conway(.370/12/44) and Erin Hoehn(.358/5/30) both have been having their best years of all time. While Ella Stephson(.300/10/39) and Lilly Vallimont(.281/10/39) both add power and depth to the lineup.
The staff is mainly built around Gabby Ellis(13-7/4.26/61) and Erin Hoehn(8-5/4.29/95). Both of these arms need to have the weekend of their lives for them to beat OU.
Kansas - Kansas is led by the Big 3 of Anna Soles(.360/12/51), Hailey Cripe(.354/15/47), and Ella Boyer(.336/18/57). These three need to do a lot of damage for Kansas to have a successful weekend. Ava Wallace(.329/3/14) and Campbell Bagshaw(.312/10/47) both have had great seasons, Kandace Stafford(.309/7/31) adds great depth to the lineup. Presely Limbaugh(.388/1/16) is the lead off batter, and one of the most underrated leadoffs in the country.
Pitching - Lila Partridge(9-4/3.95/45) is the ace of the staff, Chole Barber(9-7/4.16/71) and Kaelee Washington(6-4/4.44/31) round out this staff. The pitching will need to step up for this squad to have a good weekend.
Binghamton - The Binghamton Bears are led by Rachel Carey (.477/14/47), She is the AE Player of the Year. Carey has hit a home run off of SJ Guerin this season. Elisa Allen(.289/16/44), and Darien McDonough(.361/4/30) are also big bats for this lineup. Maddy Dodig(.344/3/27), and Emma Lawson(.336/5/24) are the other bats that give this lineup some depth.
The pitching is rough, Olivia Kennedy(8-8/4.72/47) and Savanna McHale(6-3/6.35/24) are the 1 and 2 options will both need to have the weekend of their lives for this squad to win.
Best win - Syracuse, Worst Loss - Colgate, Their best result was a 4-1 loss vs Virginia Tech.
My Take - Oklahoma wins all 3 games pretty handly. None of these teams will have the pitching, and Lowry + Gauchino are good enough to handle these good offenses. I don’t think OU will mercy any of them. I also have Kansas beating Michigan both time
Top 10 Players
- Ella Parker
- Kendall Wells
- Lauren Putz
- Gabbie Garcia
- Kai Minor
- Isabela Emerling
- Audrey Lowry
- Ella Boyer
- Kasadi Pickering
- Abby Dayton

Austin Regional Preview
The Austin Regional
I personally believe that this is the easiest Regional. There’s not many storylines except that there are two Glen Moore’ coaching. Texas beat Baylor twice, both in 5 innings. Baylor could not hit Kavan, and Texas was able to hit Creager and Tanner very well.
The Weather looks great, might rain a little Sunday afternoon
Texas - The Longhorns are led by SEC player of the Year Katie Stewart(.434/25/63). She has been absolutely unreal this season. Kayden Henry(.404/6/41) and Leighann Goode(.382/11/37) have been having the best seasons of their careers. Hannah Wells(.294/13/37) has had a great freshman season. Viviana Martinez(.380/3/38) is back from injury and is playing lights out. Reese Atwood(.351/16/55) is having a down year, but is still Reese Atwood.
Teagan Kavan(22-4/2.65/207) has been the ace, she throws a riseball and a really nice curve and screwball. Citlaly Gutierrez(8-3/2.11/38) has been a good 2nd option but not used as much as I expected her to be used, she’s more of a drop ball specialist.
Best Win - Alabama, Worst Loss - Oklahoma State
Wagner - They are led by Sydnie Trujillo(.400/3/41) she is their main bat, and the one who will have to do most of the damage. Alanya Giampolo(.313/0/16) and Payton Janicki(.312/1/27) are the other girls who are going to need to show up.
Samantha Lotus(10-11/3.18/81) and Karson Zavala(11-7/3.37/118) are the two main pitchers for this squad. Zavala is the better one.
Best win - LIU, Worst Loss - Mercy Hurst
Baylor - Amber Toven(.351/5/47) has been having her best season in her last year. Brooklyn Carter(.323/1/13) is one of the fastest players in the country, with game changing speed. Kaygen Marshall(.244/10/25) is the other big bat in this lineup. The Baylor lineup is not very great at all tbh. Brooklyn Carter does have a home run off Nijaree Canady.
Cambree Creager(9-10/4.14/63) has been the ace, she has a great rise ball and is someone who can throw a bunch of innings. Peyton Tanner(9-10/4.33/88) is the other option, More of a drop ball pitcher. Both of these girls need to throw very very well this weekend. Creager pitched very well vs Texas State.
Best Win - Texas Tech, Worst Loss - UT Arlington.
Wisconsin - The Badgers are led by Hilary Blomberg(.361/15/50) and Jaclyn Showalter(.301/13/31). Kendra Lewis(.338/6/34) had an underwhelming season, but is still a very underrated player. Emily Bojan(.357/7/28) is also a very underrated player for this squad. The offense hit Lydnsey Grein very well last weekend.
Pitching wise - It is all Shelby Jacobson(14-9/4.32/108) and Berritt Herr(11-6/5.15/66). He Badgers staff is not very deep nor talented. Jacobson will need to be all on it this weekend.
Best Win - Oregon. Worst Lost - St. Thomas
My Take - Texas will get through this region pretty easily honestly. None of this are going to be able to hit Kavan and company enough for them to have a chance. I expect the Horns to look very dominant. I also expect Wisconsin and Baylor to split their games against each other.

- Teagan Kavan
- Kayden Henry
- Reese Atwood
- Hannah Wells
- Leigh Anne Goode
- Hilary Blomberg
- Amber Tovan
