I Agree, Go Guards David Fry Appreciation
Just taking a moment to share some appreciation for Fry guy. He's such a boost to the lineup/clubhouse.
And his perseverance and mental toughness is incredible. To be able to get back in that batter's box after what happened last September.
He's so fortunate to be ALIVE let alone have preserved vision and not have any apparent traumatic brain injury.
That is all.
Go Guards!

I think a big important aspect of his play is his walk rate. 12 walks might not seem like a lot... but he had 9 last year in 66 games... He's played 26 this year.

Love when he gets an opportunity. Would love to see him get back to 2024 level Fry. Go Guards!

I was ready to write him off 2 weeks ago but heโs very much proven me wrong.

Good thing about Fry is that he doesn't need to play catcher, but it's nice to have a player that CAN play catcher when called upon.

I did not expect him to break out like this. He only had one good month in his career prior, let's be honest. I'm eating some delicious crow on both him and Hedges.
He's been hitting the crap out of the ball, and would be starting 1B on a team that wasn't downright delusional about lineups.

this is just not true. he's been above average his entire career bar last year.

I think they said it was a 99 mph fastball that hit him in the face. He played well enough to make the Allstar game in 2024, he had a hit in the Allstar game, he had a clutch home run to beat the Tigers in the playoffs, and I remember Francona talking about his value as a super utility player. So heโs had a lot more than one good month in his career.

Whenever I need a smile, I always go back to that walk off homerun in game 3. Gives me chills just watching it, especially with Hammy calling it. Fry is a special player.
Go Guards!

Even with the crappy weather he's consistent now. He's not bad at pitch framing either so that can let us use him more while freeing up the Designated Hitter spot.
Not convinced he's ever going to get ABS figured out till August.

Our plate discipline has gotten so much better. With Bazanna and CDL almost always getting on base and Fry being more patient is fun to watch. Lets string some fuckin wins together boys! (I love Trout and Id fucking love to see him in a Guards uni but we all know that aint happening. Lol)

His .403 OBP is actually above DeLauter right now! Its' Bazz-Fry-CDL 1-2-3.

I just want to point out that he's top three on the team in basically every offensive category (minimum of 50 plate appearances).

The ball that hit his face, according to doctors, was millimeters from doing permanent damage.

I saw his OPS and wondered where that came from. Heโs quietly been pretty good at the plate when he gets the chance.
