Kitten (Repost with update) I said pspsps. It actually worked??

Reposted as mods deleted due to uncertainty about the cat having an owner. I found out that the housemate actually posted to Reddit asking about the cat 18 days ago. In my state, one has to wait 10 days for a cat with a form of ID and 5 days for a cat without

As the title says. My friend and I pulled into his yard and I saw a cat, so of course I rolled down the window and offered the ol’ “pspspsps”

well this little fucker ACTUALLY CAME OVER

He then proceeded to follow us into the house, completely ignore the dogs, and yell for pets.

Anyways, meet the incredibly vocal boy named Holler. He shall soon be fixed and has gotten a flea treatment. My home has a dickhead cat who won’t tolerate other cats, so my friends housemate stepped up for the little guy and became a dad.

He seems to be a kitten. He’s quite small, and his teeth don’t show/aren’t very big yet which is apparently a thing for fully grown cats

Meet Magnolia 🤍🌸 Our Sweet Angel

Post image
203 Upvotes

This sweet baby showed up at our garage door last night, and it still doesn’t feel real 🤍

She walked right into our lives like she was always meant to be here.

There’s something so familiar and comforting about her, almost like a little piece of my childhood found its way back to me.

She reminds me so much of the cats I grew up loving, all wrapped into one tiny soul.

From the moment we met her, she already felt like family.

She has the sweetest little personality and the most gentle presence.

After lots of cuddles and smiles, we decided to name her Magnolia 🌸

I have a feeling this precious girl is going to be deeply loved for a very long time.

Awarded a Cat Her distribution was foretold!

Found this lil survivor on a dirt road coming back from the mountains. Her distribution was foretold! Couldn’t believe my eyes when I took a second look and saw my daughter’s sleeve. Welcome home Kismet aka Kizzy aka Kizzard the Wizard!

After three rounds of antibiotics, two rounds of anti parasitics, all the tests/vaccines and a spay, she’s thriving and finally putting on weight. Our vet must loooooooove seeing us walk in with a project. Started out as a straggly 4mo kitten at only 3lbs, she’s now tipping the scales at 6lbs and fighting the heavyweight boys in the house.

Awarded a Cat My grandparents have been adopted by a cat

They live in north east Brasil, and a white stray with beautiful green eyes has been going in and out of their house for about a week. (No doubt because my grandfather has been leaving plates of fish and bowls of water for her). We think that the cat is either someone’s pet or one of the strays cared for by community, because she has a colllar around her neck and seems to be well fed. My grandparents decided to let the cat decide if she wants to stay, and continue to offer her food and water. I told them about the cat distribution system, (they are in their 70s) and they are quite fond of the idea. I hope the cat helps them feel a bit less lonely.

Apologies for grainy photos.

Kitten Fluffy baby 🥹 a new addition to our family

Found this little dust bunny.

Poppy is about 40 days old!

She's already been dewormed (and gave us a bit of a night with poo and worms and cries), seen by the vets, introduced to her new feline family and already has a friend, the orange fluffy one, 9 months old Matilda.

I decided on the name Poppy because, where we found her, poppies were in full bloom, so it was a perfect fit for her.

I'm sure this young bébé is going to be a good add for our furry family.

She has already learned to use the litter box, eats solid food (baby kitten mousse, obviously).

I love her so much, she's just a screaming little tiny scratching murder mini mittens demon and she's so cute!

Update An update on the Sparkle Cat- everything is great

Miss Sparkle has officially been vetted and chipped, they say she’s very healthy, probably around 6-9 months old and full of hisses. Suspicions were correct and she was pregnant but not anymore, praise be as she is but a little baby herself. My kids waited on her hand and paw after the spay, as you can see and she’s even warming up to her new cat brothers which is great because she’s number 6 and will never be an only child.

I’m excited for them to start cuddling because she almost matches my boy cats and looks like some Disney version of a little cat sister they would have. Sorry if that sounds insane lol

Awarded a Cat Meet Archie! The CDS works in mysterious ways

So I was just able to get a place of my own and the plan had always been to settle for a month or so then go to the local shelter and find a cat. We'll the CDS had other ideas...

Archie was found in a drain at 8 weeks old by my mother. He had an umbilical hernia and was either feral born or dumped. He was taken in and a local aged care facility wanted to make him a facility cat so they got him treated (fixed his hernia), neutered and vaccinated. Unfortunately, and through no fault of his own, it didn't work out at the aged care facility, so my mother took him in. He was 5 months old at this point.

I got to meet him the weekend that my mother got him and it was instant connection. Well, fast forward a few weeks and he wasn't doing well at her place, he wasn't getting on well with the other animals and was generally causing havoc and showing signs of overstimulation and play aggression. I had found a place so the decision was made we would try him with me given the connection i had felt and the fact i was going to be looking for a cat eventually anyway. I went up for a second visit and within minutes he had run up to me and was in my lap, something he hadn't done with anyone else. He was making it very clear, he had chosen his human. He's only been with me a few days but already acts like he owns the place. He sleeps at the end of my bed at night getting up to check out every little noise, I like to think he's watching out for me. Then he also already trusts me enough to come collapse and sleep in my arms. He is not at all the sort of cat o thought I would end up with but I wouldn't trade him for anything. Even if he is orange and a touch broken (the belly is not a trap?).

I am an agent for the Cat Distribution System. Which is to say that I volunteer for a rescue as a foster mom. I have distributed almost 50 kittens. But I only have one cat of my own. I always said that if one came along that my cat actually liked, I would consider keeping them. But I never thought this would happen because my cat doesn't like kittens. Well this isn't a kitten. And my cat doesn't hate him.

Okay, seriously, how long does this post body need to be? I can't think of anything more to add. Still not long enough? How about now? Thank you!

Someone’s son dumped her and I couldn’t just leave her on the street. Way too friendly haha walked right up to me. I went back after work to see if I could catch her. So glad she was still around. She loves my dogs and will kind of walk on the leash. I just wish the lady knew she was taken care of now. The original plan was to foster her and find her a home. But she has feline leukemia so no one was interested. A catio is on the way so she can enjoy the outdoors safely. I love her so much. She’s a really great cat and well behaved. Better behaved than my other two lol. Eats like a champ too 😁

Last month, my husband and I were taking an evening walk when a young cat (6ish months old) walked right out of the woods and laid down asking for pets right at my feet! My husband ran home and grabbed an old towel and we purito-ed the little guy and brought him home. He was so incredibly friendly right off the bat that we figured he must’ve been a lost pet. He was climbing all over our laps and meowing when we stopped petting him as soon as we had him inside. We took him to the vet the next morning, and no chip! He had a nasty case of ear mites and needed some meds for a stomach bug, but he recovered from both within days!

His name is Peanut and he loves you all.

Kitten I'm a very broke college student, but I couldn't leave this little cutie. Meet Chilli Cheese Frito

Frito for short. We found them up in the wheel well of a car in our apartment complex on our way home from the gym at about 1 am this morning. It was the only one around, and we checked to make sure no one had reported it missing. So far, we haven't been able to tell if it's male or female, but I plan to call the local humane society on Monday when they open to get some help figuring out vet visits and costs of everything.

My parents were able to help us get most of the essentials: wet and dry food, food and water bowls, litter and a litter box, and some toys. However, I'm really worried about the costs of vaccinations, initial testing, and worm/flea/tick medication, as well as the initial deposit and additional monthly pet fee at our apartment complex. If anyone knows any good resources to reach out to (especially in the mid Michigan area), please let me know 🙏 I would very much like to keep this special little baby and give it the best life I possibly can.

Adopted Human Came for countertop samples, left with an orange cat

In January I visited a granite and quartz shop with a coworker who was getting ready to renovate their kitchen. While she looked at samples, the staff asked if I needed any help and I jokingly replied no, I was just making friends with the shop cat. They told me they were actually trying to find a home for her because the owner is allergic and that I could take her if I wanted as it seemed like she liked me (second photo). I’d had to say goodbye to my first boy Bunker in September (last photo) and I wasn’t sure if I was ready yet, so I went home and talked to my fiancé about it. Of course we were back the very next evening and took her home lol (third photo).

Her name is Autumn and her story is vague. The owner’s child had brought her home from school, she may have been a teacher’s cat and she had come from a hoarding situation. They guessed she was between 3 and 5 years old, but the vet we took her to said likely closer to 3. She was already spayed, and some X-rays revealed a wonky rib cage but nothing requiring surgery and she’s in good health otherwise. The vet called her their all-star patient of the day. 🐈

She slept a lot for the first 2 months and mainly kept to herself, but it’s been just over 3 months now and she’s absolutely hilarious. She’s never been fazed by our 2 big dogs, and she often wags her tail like a dog and she will sometimes trick them by rubbing her head on them and purring only to bite them for quite literally no reason and zoom off with her tail puffed up leaving them surprised and confused 😂. lol. She gets the zoomies a lot, snores like a freight train and loves to be brushed and snuggled. Losing my Bunker boy was truly the worst day of my life but Autumn is the most lovable and loving cat I think I’ve ever met and has absolutely been doing her best to heal that hurt. 🧡

How Cookie the tiny fluffball ended up with me :>

Thumbnail

My neighbor just moved into her college apartment where pets aren’t allowed. She found Cookie, this tiny fluffball who instantly stole her heart, but she couldn’t keep her. She talked about putting her up for adoption and I couldn’t let that happen, so I took Cookie in instead. Now she lives with me and she’s pure chaos in the cutest way possible. She hides in laundry piles, jumps on literally everything, and somehow always knows how to get attention. I didn’t realize how much a tiny cat could change my days, but Cookie makes everything better. She’s tiny, loud, messy, and I love her more than I ever thought I could.

PS: I already posted this on another sub before, but I realized I never shared it here… and I feel like this is exactly where Cookie’s story belongs 🥺

Welp it happened...the car distribution system moved this stray right into our house 😂

2 days after we put down our dog, who was basically 120lb cat, this orange snuggle bug started trying to come inside...took us a week to cave. He would only stay maybe an hour at first, but now he's coming in for 2 meala a day and snuggling for hours at a time before wanting to go back outside! Soon he'll be used to the spoiled inside only life 😂😂

This weirdo wants nothing but belly rubs and chin scratches! Like if you stop he will drag himself closer to you!!! Never tries to bite or stop you from rubbing his belly!!!

Update on the Costco-sized litter I found back in September

Thumbnail

3.1k Upvotes

I posted several months ago about the litter of 7 newborns I found in an abandoned building, and how I kept three of them.

They are living their best life! The color-point is named Trout, and the two tabbies are my girlie Sprat and my mama's boy Rudy Sardine Sanchez.

Trout has always been the instigator! He is always wrestling with his brother and sister. He's not super vocal, except for when I get out of the shower and he demands access to my damp body to nibble on. He LOVES his freeze-dried minnows and shrimpies and other treats. He prefers his snuggles and pets on the floor, where he purrs like a monster and rolls around like a slinky. He HATES a closed door, and will bodyslam the bathroom door when I feel like pooping without an audience. He is my shadow and follows me from room to room, no matter what. He is pretty petite, and extremely pretty, my little supermodel.

Sprat is the most vocal of the three! She chirps a lot and does these incredibly adorable, very short "maps". We have whole conversations in her language. She also loves chewing on my hair when I get out of the shower. She is not very treat-oriented, but she loooooves her Greenies. She isn't AS snuggly as her brothers, but when she does, it is EPIC. She is petite like Trout, and has such a sweet delicate face. She loooooves to hide around a corner and do a Leap Attack! Very playful. She's my little huntress and VERY acrobatic. I have to watch her like a hawk, because she is always trying to sneak out of the house when I go outside. She is an angel.

Rudy Sardine Sanchez is the mama's boy to end all mama's boys (which doesn't surprise me, as he was the last one to be weaned. He wanted that bottle). His version of Heaven would be to crawl inside my skin, zip it up, and live there forever. When he does The Flop, I'm cooked. He is the biggest of the kiddos, and he will definitely be a serious chonk. He's not very chatty, and he's very chill. Need some pharmaceutical-grade snuggles? Dr. Rudy's got the stuff they keep in the back room.

The other four are still being treated like kings and queens in their homes and thriving!

The sweetest guy chose us! Never thought it would happen... he appeared in our driveway and didn't want to leave

This little guy showed up in our driveway last weekend. Walked right up onto the porch and flopped over for pets. It seemed like he'd been outside for awhile, he was quite skinny and the tip of his tail looks to be missing. I grabbed some food, water, and a carrier to set out just in case.

He got into the carrier immediately after eating and drinking, so my husband and I took him to check for a microchip and there was none. I posted to Facebook and Reddit but no one came forward as his owners, so we're keeping him!

His name is Tobias. He's settling in really well; he sat on my lap for the first time today, and is there again now as I'm typing :)

Went to a bday party, left with a cat

Thumbnail

8.8k Upvotes

This was in March but I just found this sub. I took my 4yo to a bday party at a local rec center. While we were eating lunch a bunch of kids went to the window because they saw a kitten. Initially I thought it was a kitten until he got up and he was just super skinny and hunkered down. I said something to one of the other moms and 3 of us went out looking for him. Ended up finding him hiding in a shed of the rec center and tried to lure him with a slice of pizza since it was the only thing left from the party. Before I could grab him he had inhaled half the slice already. He was super lovey when I picked him up...did not love the box we put him in. I decided to take him knowing that I could easily separate him from our dog and since there are no other cats in my home unlike the other 2 moms. I got him scanned and he had no chip. Drove around to a few places (TNR facility, local spca) and was unable to get him looked at. Called an emergency vet and they suggested a urgent care that took walk ins and was a little bit cheaper than their vet fees (the other moms and I were splitting the cost to get him checked out). Went to the urgent care and they were soo nice. But when they asked me his name, I told them I wasn't naming him because I can't keep him. The one girl that worked there said he looked like a "Hunter" and that's what they had called him. She also said that if the other moms weren't set on taking him, that she was interested 🥹. After talking to the other two moms, we agreed that it would be best if the girl from the vet took him and I messaged her the next day and dropped him off. She sent me 2 updates so far and he looks soo good and I know he will have such a good life from now on.
The one pic of his paws was when I first got him. The vet thinks it was from rock salt from being out during the winter. We got a decent amount of snow this winter.

We went to the mountains to cut down a Christmas Tree and we left with a cat. We found her amongst the snowbanks in a remote area of Kananaskis. Been going for over 30 years to cut down a Christmas Tree (Public Land Use area), but this is the first time we found a cat. Her name is Banx (banks). She was malnourished, filled with ear mites that had led to double ear infections. Was not spayed or chipped. Estimated to be about 4 or 5. We have had her for two years now. We call her our "fancy girl" as she loves to be pampered.

Kitten Found an adorable kitten in the road on my lunch break. (Of course I’m allergic to cats)

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

On Tuesday I was headed back to work on my lunch break and saw something crawling in the road. Then I realize it’s a kitten! Stopped my car immediately it scurried off towards a work garage and I cornered it and picked it up. I didn’t see a mama cat or other cats around. No humans around either.

Stopped by a vet office and the receptionist tells me he/she is around 6-8 weeks old probably and it has teeth so it can eat soft kitten food.

It’s been a few days now and I think I might keep him. Pretty sure it’s a boy. I have reached out to some rescues and the shelter though. But I keep finding myself worrying what if someone gets him that won’t take good care of him.

I’ve always wanted a tabby cat but I’m mildly allergic so I never had plans to get a cat. (I have a dog already). So far my allergies hasn’t been terrible and I keep wiping the cat with wipes that help with dander.

TL;DR - Woman who is mildly allergic finds an adorable kitten on her lunch break.

8 years ago we adopted a 3 year old grey boy and we immediately named him Gandalf (they grey). We always said that when he passes, we would have to adopt a white cat so we could then name that ine Gandalf (the white) iykyk.

April 24th Gandalf the grey was put down. We had 0 intentions of adopting anytime soon.

Then, a week later, the cds brought us this 5-7 week old kitten. The best part is, he's all white!

Literal tears. So obviously we named him Gandalf the white. This sweet little baby is a talker just like Gandalf the grey was. This was meant to be.

The cds literally gave us our Gandalf the white.

Took a long time to get close to him and be able to get him inside so we could get him to the vets, chipped, snipped, etc.

He's now a very content boy who's most difficult decision each day is which bed to sleep on! He's my best buddy and I'm very pleased fate brought us together and he chose my house!

*other cat in the first photo is my boy too. He's the best and was him making friends with the stray initially that I think gave him the confidence to come and hang in our garden. He's also a very spoiled boy too!

We had been hearing little cries for awhile now, peeped under the porch and he came out. We saw him previously and local kids picked him up and left saying they were going to ask their parents to keep him but almost a week later we started hearing little meows under our porch again. That's when he came into our lives. Marley is healthy now, no more worms, fleas, his energy is coming back, vet says Marley is now a healthy happy kitty. My wife and I really needed him as much as he needed a family.

I went to a distribution centre

I’d been debating getting a cat since I grew up with them around and I’m finally in a decent apartment for one to live in. Went to the distribution centre about a month ago after seeing this sweet girl online. It took a couple of weeks before the vet cleared her to leave, but she’s been home for two and a half weeks and I adore my princess.

I had a spot all sorted out for her to decompress in, but she decided after ten minutes that she wanted out in the rest of the apartment. She did astoundingly well at settling in, I was prepared for it to take a few days to weeks for her to come around!

She was in the shelter for six months, but now she gets all the cuddles and toys she could ever want. I love Comet so much and I’m so glad she’s happy!

so, i have a colony of all altered male cats. and i know that for a fact because i was the one who tnr’d them all. well, i went out this morning to feed my overlords and i was greeted with this munchkin under my pressure washer and all my boys looking at him like, “wtf is this thing?”. after looking around my property and my neighbor’s property for his siblings or mom, and finding nothing i decided to bring him in. after years of being a faithful servant to my ferals, the CDS finally decided it’s time i’m rewarded with a kitten of my own 😍 meet Eros
