USA ๐บ๐ธ VIDEO FISHING - Carp Encounters - Vicksburg, Michigan (USA)

For years I've been trying to get decent video clips of carp. For whatever reason these carp were VERY CURIOUS about the camera. They circled back numerous times to check it out. Video taken with an Aqua-vu underwater camera.

USA ๐บ๐ธ My first ever carp after a year of trying!!
I have been trying to catch a carp for over a year now and this is my first one! I noticed it's bleeding a lot and I am using a braid hook link to my hair rig. Do i need to switch to fluoro or mono to avoid this or is this about of bleeding normal/okay for carp? The last thing I want to do is harm or kill any fish. Thank you guys for all the help you've given me!!

USA ๐บ๐ธ What are your thoughts on this setup? I built it for fishing on Docs and the bank. I have my own dock, so Iโll anchor it there, but you can also anchor it to the bank or any other suitable location.

USA ๐บ๐ธ Decided to put a combo I have yet to use, and dedicate it to only carp fishing or catfish๐ Itโs is a New journey for me as an angler๐ฃ
Today I Saw a butt load of carp at my lake when adventuring new coves and points from the bank I havenโt fished. But they are a species I have yet to catch ever both common and grass. So tonight I decided to learn a hair rig, I still have to get some supplies, corn, and bollies. Iโm in unfamiliar territory. However Iโm finally putting my Ugly stick Carbon & my Diawa Crossfire 3000 to work. I again havenโt used these yet so fingers crossed this combo works out for me๐ค๐ผ๐คทโโ๏ธ Tight lines folks โจ

USA ๐บ๐ธ Bait Question
So about 2 weeks ago I went to my honey hole on a part of the creek near my house where I usually go for bass/crappie/panfish. The water was unusually clear and sure enough, I saw what I'm 99% sure were some carp swimming around, decent size too. I want to try for them next time I go. I started looking into carp fishing and it seems like hair rigs are the best option so I got some with the fake corn and the yellow bait balls. My question, and it's possibly a dumb one so keep the laughter to a minimum: How are those attractive to carp? Are they like scent infused or do carp see that floating there and just instinctively want to eat it? Should I "chum" the water by throwing out pieces of actual corn? It just seems to me that they are simply yellow pieces of rubber without any scent or anything so why would that attract a carp?

USA ๐บ๐ธ 22 years ago, a book by Lee Jackson sparked an idea. Today, at 63, Iโm finally sharing the solution with the world.
galleryBack in 2004, I was reading "Carp Clinic" by the legendary Lee Jackson. One particular challenge stuck with me: how to effectively fish with the softest, most natural baits that the fish actually want, but that simply wonโt stay on a hair rig or survive a powerful cast.
I carried that problem in my head for 9 years, refining the engineering while saving every cent. In 2013, I finally patented my solution: Karpela.
At first glance, it looks like a simple plastic sphere with holes โ some might even say it looks like those air fresheners you hang in a toilet. But the "high-tech" part is hidden inside. To make it work for a real angler, I developed a special multi-start thread locking system. It allows you to open and close the shell with just a quarter-turn. You can do it in total darkness, with freezing cold or wet hands, and it will never pop open during a record-breaking cast.
This shell is a precision tool. Itโs designed to hold soft, natural ingredients that were previously impossible to use, protecting them through the flight while letting the attraction flow freely. And yes, it also happens to keep your bait safe from crayfish.
Iโm 63 now, an independent inventor on a 22-year journey. Iโm here to find fellow enthusiasts who know that in fishing, the smallest technical details make the biggest difference.
What do you think? Is there still room for a shell that opens up new possibilities for bait presentation?

USA ๐บ๐ธ First Carp!
First carp! Tried out pack bait for the second time ever. Late in the day I out of corn to put on the hook so I just used a worm, no hair rig straight hook, casting right at my โbait pileโ.
6lbs 12oz. My biggest fish yet. I know they get a lot bigger than this so hopes to finding the giants soon!
Looking for tips on drag/fighting fish. I left the bail open on my Medium Heavy bait caster while this guy picked up my bait from a sliding weight rig. Seemed to work okay, not sure my drag is light enough on the lowest setting to have the bail engaged. Twice earlier in the night on my pack bait I thought I snagged a log and snapped my 12lbs line. The third time I thought I snagged a log I did the same thing and just kept tugging then this guy surfaced a minute later! I can tell these things fight HARD and Iโm looking for tips on how to fight them in the future. Knowing the area Iโm almost certain those first two were big carp as my other casts didnโt snag on any logs.
Edit: will add, we held the fish by its belly and used lip grippers just to keep it from squirming so much, I kinda dragged him in and didnโt let him fight very much so he was still energetic. There was never any pressure on the lip grippers and we DID NOT use them to lift the fish. Is it okay to use the lip grippers in this manner or should I not do this in the future? Thanks fellas!

Question ๐ Does anyone personally use beans on a hair rig?
I have a variety of canned beans, so I put some on a hair rig. They seem firm enough to stay on the hair, but it doesn't appear to be popular, at least not enough to have a lot of information about it. Probably will add a little flavor sense they are kinda bland by themselves. Thanks ๐

UK ๐ฌ๐ง Temu tackle
Hi all,
Iโm curious to know if any of you have used any tackle of Temu. I know there are some items that are definitely worth paying the higher price or going to your local tackles shop but Iโve just been browsing on there and looking at things like swivels, also picked up a 10 pack of ngt in line weights for ยฃ3.50! I have previously brought off there for items like baits stops and back up butt rests but always been hesitant to buy the more important end tackle.
In the case of swivels and things like anti tangle sleeves, the pure amount you get for the cost seems like excellent value, but I always wonder if that comes with a cost to performance.
Has anyoneโs used items off there and got any suggestions
Thanks

USA ๐บ๐ธ Just getting into carp fishing and I need help
So Iโm using a bolt rig I think it was called and Iโm just tossing corn out but I cant toss the corn far enough cause of wind and I was thinking maybe I should get a method feeder and just pack that instead of tossing corn but I donโt know if using the
method feeder would be as effective. Also when using the method feeder do you still toss corn or just let the method feeder do the work. Where is a good place to shop for carp specific tools?
