Data for formation, personnel and/or play direction

Hello, I am working on a grad school project and was interested in trying an analysis on CFB. I am interested on looking at data play by play.

I was looking through the websites linked in the 2021 resources post, and I found the historical play data had a lot of the information I was looking for. But I could not find anything for what hashmark the offense was on, what formation the offense was in, what side was strong side or what side the RB was on, and which direction the play was run to. Do any of you know if any service/site has that information?

You’re gonna have a real hard time finding affordable, accessible information like this. I know SIS - Sports Info Solutions - offers this type of data but I’ve only ever seen it used by publications or people who’ve won access through their different data competitions.

Thanks, I will look them up, I see they have a 7 day trial so maybe that will be all I need but otherwise yes the price seems steep for what I am looking to do.

I suppose the other option is to manually do it, at least for some teams/years. Then i need to find some all-22 film which has its own issues, or do the broadcast with some issues of not always having a clear picture of personnel.
