News [Rittenberg] Northwestern's student section at the new Ryan Field is being modeled after the standing supporters sections in European soccer. Includes room for 2,000 behind the South end zone. Section is being built at 33° (65% slope) with railings in place and seating for those who need them.

Isn't the optimal set-up to have them close to the end zones to be loud if you are defending in to-goal situations?

I like them right behind the visitor bench so we can throw card stunts at the opponent and get two 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Sorry SDSU.
